[Comprehensive] Actors Sa Seung-yeon and Lee Il-seo Hold Private Wedding Ceremony… Star Couple is Born (Full Story)
Reporter Kim Jung-young ∥ Published ∥20XX. 12. XX 13:57∥4012 Comments
Top actor Sa Seung-yeon and rising star Lee Il-seo, who caused a stir in Korea two years ago with their marriage registration, have tied the knot in a private ceremony in Gyeonggi Province.
Lil Entertainment, Sa Seung-yeon’s agency, and Ondo Entertainment, Lee Il-seo’s agency, each announced through their official websites that the two held a private wedding ceremony in December.
The public’s reaction has been very heated to the first official statement released jointly by both agencies, after consistently giving no response to the steadily raised wedding rumors since last month.
The agencies confirmed that the two did hold a wedding ceremony and released photos from the event.

According to both agencies, the first part of the wedding ceremony was held outdoors with a covenant ceremony and wedding songs, and the second part proceeded in a small party format with food sharing inside the villa. In the photos from the first part, Sa Seung-yeon wore a black tuxedo while Lee Il-seo wore a white tuxedo, but in the second part, they were captured having swapped colors. Immediately after the on-site photos were released, search terms related to the two’s marriage have been adorning real-time social media trends to this day.
Sa Seung-yeon and Lee Il-seo each left messages of gratitude through their fan cafes, saying they would not forget the hearts and encouragement of many who supported them and would live happily.
Besides the on-site photos, detailed information such as the exact wedding location or invited guests was not disclosed, but it is known that the ceremony was held at a villa personally owned by actor Sa Seung-yeon, and was a small wedding with only a very limited number of close acquaintances invited.
The two are currently known to have established their home in a mansion in an affluent district of Seoul. The villa, which became a big topic last mid-year when actor Sa Seung-yeon purchased it by paying the enormous price entirely in cash, underwent remodeling for a year, and the two are known to have held the ceremony timed with the completion.
Sa Seung-yeon has been cast as the protagonist, a retired soldier, in the pre-produced drama ‘Further Purple (working title)’ in the second half of this year and is preparing for filming, and Lee Il-seo is also scheduled to play a college student uncovering the truth of a disappearance case in the horror film ‘Beautiful Complex.’
[HOT] Lee Il-seo’s Wedding Song Video Becomes Hot Topic… Even Music Chart Reverse Run Syndrome
Reporter Park Jung-yong ∥ Published ∥20XX. 12. XX AM 10:32∥1489 Likes
Actor Lee Il-seo’s wedding song video has been released and is becoming a hot topic day after day.
An acquaintance who attended Sa Seung-yeon and Lee Il-seo’s year-end wedding last year posted a video of Lee Il-seo singing a wedding song himself at his own wedding ceremony on their personal SNS.
The acquaintance who attended the wedding explained through the post that it was “a video that’s regrettable because it couldn’t capture all of the live performance,” and added that they received permission from actor Lee Il-seo to upload it.

In the video, Lee Il-seo sits on a chair placed on the lawn while holding a guitar. The moment Lee Il-seo, who was playing guitar to piano accompaniment, sang the first verse, the sound of people briefly exclaiming in admiration and murmuring can be heard.
Along with the sweet voice and excellent guitar playing skills, what became a hot topic was Sa Seung-yeon’s reaction to hearing the wedding song. The moment the first verse chorus passed, he suddenly bowed his head and wiped away tears, which was captured entirely in the video, and netizens’ reactions continued saying it was the first time he had shown tears for personal reasons since his debut.

Comments saying that Lee Il-seo singing in the video reminded them of Haru from ‘The Temperature of Overflow’ also received much sympathy, and the singing skills that became a topic during the drama’s broadcast were spotlighted again.
As proof of this, the original music source of the wedding song Lee Il-seo sang went on a reverse run and reached #1 on real-time music site charts, and ‘First Star,’ the drama theme song that Lee Il-seo participated in as an OST, also entered the music charts once again and rose to as high as #7.
Lee Il-seo is currently filming the movie ‘Beautiful Complex (working title),’ based on a horror webtoon, with talented actor Kim Sun-woo, and has taken on the role of ‘Kim Chung-yoon,’ a college freshman who gets caught up in a bizarre disappearance case that occurred in the next room of his boarding house.
Expectations are growing for Lee Il-seo’s acting transformation, as he emerged as a ‘reliable actor to watch’ last year by garnering attention with his calm and intellectual lawyer performance.

The two, who appeared before reporters and fans in comfortable outfits, showed the epitome of couple looks by wearing the same brand of hats, bags, and shoes.

The two enjoyed dates in everyday, familiar ways no different from any other couple, drinking coffee at cafes or taking each other’s photos on the street, and even in the spontaneously captured photos, their outstanding visuals couldn’t be hidden, leading to continuous reactions that it was like a paparazzi concept couple photoshoot.

Meanwhile, the airport area became chaotic for a time as fans of both actors crowded into the arrival hall.
Sa Seung-yeon’s agency Lil Entertainment also requested through an official statement that basic safety rules at the airport be followed for the safety of airport customers and artists.
The two developed into lovers after working together on the popular drama ‘The Temperature of Overflow,’ tied the knot by registering their marriage two years ago, and held their wedding ceremony at the end of last year.
5. [Star Interview] Sa Seung-yeon Lee Il-seo Mongue February Issue Interview Excerpt
I heard this is your first joint interview since becoming a married couple? We’re truly honored to have this first interview in Mongue.
Seung-yeon: Nice to meet you. I had no intention of delaying the interview, but it was difficult to match schedules with Il-seo due to our schedules. I’m happy to be featured in Mongue’s February issue.
Il-seo: I thought we had taken couple photoshoots quite often, but this is my first married couple photoshoot in my life, so it’s fascinating. Ah, I guess it can’t be the second one…. I’m also very honored.
It’s been just about 2 months since you held your wedding ceremony. How are things these days?
Seung-yeon: Not much has changed from before marriage, so I don’t really feel it. These days we’re both busy with filming, so it feels like we see each other’s faces even less. Still, it’s nice not having to feel the sadness of parting after dates end.
Il-seo: It hasn’t been long since we moved, so the scenery I see every morning is a bit unfamiliar. (Laughs) But I’m living happily every day.
That’s right. I heard you moved early this year. There’s a lot of interest in the two of you’s new home. Was there any part of the interior you paid special attention to?
Seung-yeon: When we don’t have schedules, we mainly spend time at home, so I thought it would be nice if it became a space where we could rest completely. We placed comfortable chairs and sofas suitable for resting throughout. I brought in many vintage items I’d been keeping an eye on with this opportunity.
Il-seo: Sunbae knows more about interior design, so I relied on him entirely. However, there is a space I’m attached to. Sunbae renovated one room to create a space where I can play guitar. Should I call it a studio? He even installed soundproof walls perfectly, so it’s like a small studio. I sing and play guitar there whenever I have time. Oh, I bought a flowerpot because I wanted to place a plant, and the delivery is on its way.
Seung-yeon: You already decided on a name. Tell them.
Il-seo: ‘Il-seo.’ If I happen to bring in more later, I plan to name them Sam-seo, Sa-seo, O-seo… like that.
If it’s a studio, can we look forward to Il-seo’s singing?
Il-seo: Actually, when I have time, I’m thinking of posting a video once. I’m looking into recording equipment.
Seung-yeon: (Sighing) That won’t do.
Seung-yeon, you’re quite possessive.
Seung-yeon: I want to monopolize Il-seo’s singing at least.
It seems too late to monopolize Il-seo’s singing already. Because of that hot topic wedding song video. There was a huge fuss because of Il-seo’s singing, and of course, Seung-yeon’s tears.
Il-seo: Actually, since I showed myself singing a lot in <The Temperature of Overflow>, I didn’t know it would become such a hot topic. I felt really good that the public liked it.
Seung-yeon: Since it was a video my manager took, I did give permission to upload it. But I didn’t know he filmed me crying too. I got caught off guard.
Il-seo, did you know Seung-yeon was crying at that time?
Il-seo: Yes. I kept watching sunbae while singing. From about the middle of the first verse, I saw him getting choked up. I almost cried too, but I held back by deliberately imagining funny things because I was afraid I’d ruin the song if I cried.
Do you two remember your first meeting? It was probably during ‘The Temperature of Overflow,’ right? What was your first impression then? And if you compare that first impression with your current impression, how would it be?
Seung-yeon, Il-seo: (Exchange glances)
Seung-yeon: Actually, this is the first time we’re talking about this in an interview. We didn’t first meet at the ‘The Temperature of Overflow’ meeting.
Really?
Il-seo: Yes. Actually, sunbae and I went to the same high school. At the time, sunbae was a senior and I was a freshman. We first encountered each other in the broadcasting room. (Leaning on the table) Sunbae was sitting so cool like this. (Laughs)
Seung-yeon: I was the head of the broadcasting club and Il-seo was a band club member at the time. We met when Il-seo came to the broadcasting room to send an audio file to use for the festival, and that was actually our first meeting.
I’m so surprised I got goosebumps. Then when you met through casting, did you remember encountering each other in the past?
Il-seo: Yes.
Seung-yeon: …….
Wait a minute. From what I know, in a previous interview Il-seo said his first love was a school senior. Don’t tell me….
Il-seo: I’ll say no comment. (Laughs)
Then we’ll leave this part to the imagination of our readers. Il-seo, did you immediately recognize that Seung-yeon was from the same school when he debuted?
Il-seo: Yes. Honestly, it’s a face that’s hard to forget once you see it.
Seung-yeon has been quiet since earlier. Seung-yeon, didn’t you recognize Il-seo when you met him?
Seung-yeon: If you put it so bluntly…. That’s correct.
Il-seo: (Throwing head back and laughing loudly) Haha.
Seung-yeon: (Laughing together) I’m really sorry.
Seung-yeon, do you remember the day you first met?
Seung-yeon: Actually, I don’t remember that as precisely as Il-seo does either. I did remember encountering a junior in the broadcasting room at that time, but I didn’t know it was Il-seo.
Il-seo: I was short and scruffy back then, so that’s probably another reason he didn’t recognize me.
Seung-yeon: No. I just couldn’t make the connection, but I thought you were really cute even then. So pale and so tiny, like some dandelion seed.
Il-seo: (Laughs) Dandelion seed?
Seung-yeon: Yeah. That’s exactly you. Oh, there was also a happening then. Il-seo accidentally left a practice song file he sang himself instead of transferring the audio file and left. But I remember that song precisely. It was shockingly good.
Il-seo: (Humming) It was this one, right?
Seung-yeon: Right. Ah, so good.
Seung-yeon’s expression “dandelion seed” is so cute and interesting. Il-seo, can you also describe Seung-yeon’s first impression in one phrase?
Il-seo: (Thinking) The Little Prince?
Seung-yeon: Ah. So you mean I’m old now.
Il-seo: No…, why are you like this…!
I think he wants to tease you because you’re cute, Il-seo. Then, compared to your first impressions, can you describe each other’s current impressions?
Seung-yeon: When I first saw Il-seo, I only thought he was kind and delicate. Now I’ve learned that there are surprisingly solid parts to him. Not a seed, but like a tree with deep roots. He has a straight and upright character, so even though he’s my junior, there are many times when I respect him.
Il-seo: Hmm… Whether meeting as students or meeting as actors, he was such an amazing person that honestly, he was a bit difficult to approach. Should I say he was like the summer sun? He shone so brightly it was hard to look at him directly, so all I could do was secretly support him. Now he’s like spring sunshine. He shines just as brightly as before, but because I now know he’s a warmer person than anyone else.
If you have something you want to say to your past selves?
Seung-yeon: I’m sorry I couldn’t recognize you sooner.
Il-seo: Please cherish me.
Seung-yeon: Wait, this makes me look like the bad person.
Il-seo: (Choking while laughing)
This is the first time I’ve seen Seung-yeon flustered. (Laughs) We’ve heard well about your first meeting that’s like a scene from a drama. Could you keep this interview secret until the Mongue February issue is published?
Seung-yeon, Il-seo: Yes. We promise.
You’re both used to showing yourselves to the public. Could you tell us one habit or personality trait of the other that only you know?
Seung-yeon: Hmm…. Il-seo is really gentle and kind, but surprisingly has a competitive streak. When we play badminton or bowling games, he gets really serious. Like wanting to keep playing until he wins if he loses, or subtly sulking if he loses multiple times.
Il-seo: Did it show?
Seung-yeon: Yes.
Il-seo: But why won’t you let me win once?
Seung-yeon: Your expression trying to win is so cute that I don’t let you win.
Il-seo: (Pouting) Seung-yeon sunbae memorizes scripts really fast. We often memorize scripts together on days off, and sunbae memorizes them really quickly just by looking with his eyes without even reading them aloud.
Seung-yeon: Il-seo keeps writing things. When I looked later, he was even writing things like “I’m hungry.” Why do you do that?
Il-seo: I get hungry while practicing…. How embarrassing.
You’re not hungry now, right? What was the last food you ate together?
Seung-yeon: Of course not. Today Il-seo cooked for me, so I ate heartily before coming.
Il-seo: I made oatmeal egg porridge.
Seung-yeon: It was delicious.
Il-seo: I’m glad to hear that.
I heard Il-seo was cast in a movie based on a horror webtoon. Do you two watch scary movies well?
Il-seo: I’m not good at watching them. I don’t like scary things, but I hate being startled even more…. I’m curious if I’ll be able to watch what I filmed.
Seung-yeon: I’m not particularly scared. But Il-seo is always the one who suggests watching scary movies first.
Il-seo: I want to watch them but can’t watch alone. (Reading the room) By any chance, did you endure watching even though it wasn’t fun?
Seung-yeon: I enjoyed watching. When you’re scared, Il-seo’s skinship increases.
Aside from things made like horror movies or games, is there anything you actually fear?
Il-seo: I tend to dislike narrow, dark places. It’s less scary than before though.
Seung-yeon: Il-seo has a weak body, so I’m always worried about his health.
Is there anything you two are into these days?
Seung-yeon: I originally really don’t eat desserts. But Il-seo is the complete opposite. There’s a tangerine-flavored jelly that Il-seo really lives on. I tried a few to cleanse my palate, and it was better than I expected. These days, I’m the one who’s into it instead.
Il-seo: I wondered why they were disappearing so fast.
Seung-yeon: Il-seo has actually cut back on jellies lately. Right?
Il-seo: That’s right. There are quite a few action scenes in my next work, so I’m building my body. So these days I’m into increasing muscle mass. Sunbae is supervising my workouts, but I’m a bit upset because it doesn’t seem like muscles are developing as much as I’m working.
Unfortunately, this is already the last question. I’m curious about the future of the two actors who will grow old together as a couple. What kind of actor and spouse do you want to become?
Seung-yeon: I want to become a natural actor. I always try to relax while acting.
Acting itself is an art of expressing someone other than myself, so no matter how much I try to become one with the character, there’s bound to be some distance. My goal and direction is to minimize that distance as much as possible.
As a spouse, it’s simple. A reliable spouse. I hope Il-seo will trust me.
Il-seo: While going through a long period of obscurity, I was really desperate for opportunities. I’ve been cut on the day of filming and sent home, and there were times when everything was filmed but edited out entirely, so the hurt still remains in my heart. But actually, it can’t be helped. (Looking at Seung-yeon) There are so many handsome people who act well in the world, so you have to be competitive to survive. So I’m constantly thinking about what strengths only I have. I want to develop those strengths and become an actor with my own distinctive character.
As a spouse, I want to become someone who can protect sunbae. Until now, it was sunbae who protected me. I also want to become a dependable person and be a source of strength when sunbae is having a hard time.
Seung-yeon: He keeps saying that even while lifting weights. That he’ll grow muscles and protect me. I don’t know if it’s possible.
Il-seo: …Please wait just a little.
Seung-yeon: Fighting.
We’ll wrap up today’s interview like this. Thank you for sharing sincere stories in a comfortable atmosphere. The wonderful pictorial of you two that we shot today will decorate the cover of Mongue’s February issue. Could you give a final word to the readers who will read Mongue’s February issue?
Seung-yeon: Thank you. We’ll live happily.
Il-seo: We love you. I hope to see you often in the future!
