On Sunday, after Xia Ye’s heat ended, it had only been three short days, but Han Mingxiu was still not satisfied. After checking out of the hotel, he didn’t want to let Xia Ye go. With no choice, Xia Ye reluctantly agreed to go back home with him.

Han’s father received a call from Han Mingxiu, saying that Xia Ye would be coming over for dinner and asked him to prepare more food.

Instead, he immediately started educating the child. “Li, why are you saying that about your dad? You can say whatever you want about me, but I won’t allow you to say that about your Dad.” Han Mingxiu was very serious, but everyone around was laughing. Han Mingxiu looked confused. “What’s so funny? I’m teaching my child, why are you all laughing?”

Ignoring him, butler Gao came to announce that dinner was ready and could be served at any time. Han Junze urged his beloved grandson Li to go wash up and prepare for dinner, ignoring the silly conversation. The crowd dispersed, leaving Han Mingxiu standing there, looking completely bewildered.

He turned to look at Xia Ye, who was giving him a sympathetic look.

“What’s wrong?” Han Mingxiu asked dumbfounded.

Xia Ye sighed in helplessness. “He was just criticizing you.”

Han Mingxiu furrowed his brows and finally realized what was going on. The little brat was calling Xia Ye’s taste bad, wasn’t that implying he was being rejected?

This little rascal, always nagging. Just wait, I’ll teach you a lesson.

Xia Ye found it amusing, but was also a bit worried. “You’ve been together for so long, and he still calls you Uncle Han? You haven’t taught him to call you something else?”

Han Mingxiu’s expression darkened, then he smiled and said, “It’s fine. I don’t mind this. He can call me whatever he wants.”

Just as they were talking, Xia Li, standing by the dinner table, called out, “Dad, Daddy, come eat!” His face was bright red. After calling out, he immediately sat back down in his seat, lowering his head in embarrassment.

Han Junze, Tang Qian, and Han Junzhou all exchanged surprised glances.

Xia Ye and Han Mingxiu stood frozen in the living room.

“He…” Han Mingxiu’s eyes suddenly reddened. “He called me!” He turned to look at Xia Ye, who was smiling at him. “Did you hear? He called me Daddy!”

“I heard it. Congratulations,” Xia Ye said with a smile.

Han Mingxiu was so excited he wanted to tell the whole world that his son had called him Daddy. Suddenly, Xia Ye’s words from before came to his mind…

At this moment, he suddenly felt immense pain.

The pain that Xia Ye had once complained about, now unfolded vividly in front of him.

The child had called him. This surprise, he had almost truly experienced it. He could turn around and tell his lover: “Did you hear? He called me Daddy.”

But back then, Xia Ye hadn’t. When he turned around, he saw only loneliness and a path ahead that seemed endless.

Suddenly, he felt a deep, overwhelming pain.

He tightly embraced Xia Ye in his arms, inhaling deeply. Xia Ye was still laughing. “Alright, are you that moved?” With his arm wrapped around Xia Ye, he still awkwardly reached out to pat his back.

“I’m sorry,” Han Mingxiu said. “Back then, were you as moved as I am now?”

Xia Ye paused for a moment before understanding what Han Mingxiu was referring to. “Mm,” he gently nodded in Han Mingxiu’s embrace, then fell silent for a few seconds before saying, “He started speaking late, quietly. He only started calling out at four years old. Before that, I was worried he might have developmental issues. Who knew, now he’s so talkative.”

Xia Ye chuckled softly. “A few words, and he made his daddy cry.”

“From now on, everything about you, everything about him, share it with me. Tell me everything, I’m willing to listen,” Han Mingxiu continued, still immersed in the sadness Xia Ye had once felt.

“Okay, I’ll tell you everything,” Xia Ye patted his back again. “But right now, I’m telling you, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat, alright?” The family members in the dining room had already turned around, stealing glances at the couple hugging and cuddling in the living room for the umpteenth time.

“Oh, right, let’s eat first.” Han Mingxiu snapped back to reality. He let go of Xia Ye and immediately held his hand.

He thought to himself, this lifetime, this person, he would never let go.
