Chapter 28: Marking

Marking was a sore point for Bai Chengyu—a symbol of weakness and humiliation. To be marked was to admit he was an Omega and to submit himself to an Alpha.

Bai Chengyu would never agree to let anyone mark him.

In his imagination, if he ever were marked by an Alpha, it would only be because he lost a fight and was forced into it. If that day ever came, he would rather remove his glands or die than allow an Alpha’s mark to remain on his body. This belief was the driving force behind his relentless training; he couldn’t allow himself to be easily defeated.

With his vehement resistance to marking, Bai Chengyu could never have imagined that his first encounter with it wouldn’t involve a brutal fight to the death but instead happened twice—both times where he willingly lowered his head and exposed his neck to Han Junzhou.

The first invitation, in the clinic, might have been a momentary lapse on Bai Chengyu’s part. However, Han Junzhou had given him time to reconsider. He kissed and licked Bai Chengyu before asking, “Have you made up your mind?” Bai Chengyu avoided eye contact, remaining silent.

Was the little leopard regretting his decision? Not surprising. Han Junzhou let out a faint laugh and a nearly imperceptible sigh. Although there was a hint of disappointment, he knew marking—especially even a temporary one—required careful thought. Suppressing his emotions, he decided to give Bai Chengyu and himself a moment to cool down. He started to leave, planning to take a shower, but Bai Chengyu didn’t let him go.

Bai Chengyu grabbed Han Junzhou, climbing onto him. Han Junzhou gazed into his emerald-green eyes, trying to discern his true thoughts—whether he was genuinely willing or just lost in a haze of desire. Bai Chengyu’s eyes, now shimmering like bright green lakes, were undoubtedly clouded with lust, yet his gaze remained firm as he looked back at Han Junzhou. His smile carried a mix of shyness, nervousness, and an overwhelming determination.

Gripping the front of Han Junzhou’s shirt so tightly his fingers turned white, Bai Chengyu tilted his chin slightly, maintaining his usual prideful and domineering demeanor. He demanded, as though forcing an answer from him, “Are you going to or not?”

Han Junzhou responded, “…Yes.” How could he possibly say no?

Han Junzhou no longer held back. He pushed Bai Chengyu down, tearing off his clothes. For the first time, he kissed him deeply—intensely pressing his lips to Bai Chengyu’s soft ones. The kiss sent electric tingles through Han Junzhou’s heart, making it clench tightly. After waiting and holding back for so long, the reality of their passionate kiss felt like an explosion, leaving him weightless. His tongue explored Bai Chengyu’s warm mouth, playfully coaxing his shy counterpart.

Though experienced, Han Junzhou found himself as exhilarated as a youth having their first kiss. For Bai Chengyu, the sensation was even more novel. He had considered their earlier brush of lips his first kiss, but this was an entirely different level. Overwhelmed by the intensity, he struggled to keep up as he felt his breath being stolen.

After some time, Bai Chengyu lightly pushed against him, prompting Han Junzhou to reluctantly pull away. Bai Chengyu collapsed onto the bed, gasping as though he had just sprinted an 800-meter race. Seeing him so breathless, his cheeks flushed, and his eyes rimmed with red, Han Junzhou couldn’t help but smile. Gently, he nibbled on Bai Chengyu’s ear and licked his sensitive earlobe like a playful pup. Bai Chengyu squirmed and laughed in response.

In the midst of soft laughter, Han Junzhou stripped them both of their clothing. With gentle caresses, he channeled the love he had harbored for years into his touch, soothing the prideful little leopard into a compliant little fish, who curled around him, reluctant to leave the warmth of his hands.

When Bai Chengyu’s body grew warm and inviting, he whimpered softly, seeking more. Today was a significant day—it was Bai Chengyu’s twentieth birthday and the day he chose to truly belong to Han Junzhou. It had to be treated with the utmost care.

Han Junzhou held the trembling Bai Chengyu close, releasing a heady wave of rosewood pheromones that completely enveloped him. Bai Chengyu, unaccustomed to such an overwhelming scent, nearly fainted from its intensity. As he struggled to catch his breath, Han Junzhou quickly prepared himself and then joined with him, seamlessly fitting into the space that had long been ready for him.

Bai Chengyu gasped sharply, his voice laced with pleasure. Though the act itself was familiar, the heightened sensations brought an edge of new anticipation. The overpowering rosewood scent raised the intensity of their emotions, pushing them both to the brink as wave after wave of pleasure washed over them.

Each time they neared their peak, Han Junzhou would pause to reposition Bai Chengyu, deepening their connection. In the final position, Bai Chengyu faced him, straddling his lap as Han Junzhou guided him down, thrusting upward with steady, powerful motions. Tears pricked the corners of Bai Chengyu’s eyes from the overwhelming sensation. At a particularly deep thrust, they fully bonded as Han Junzhou’s knot locked them together, causing Bai Chengyu to cry out, clinging to him tightly.

As Han Junzhou filled him completely, he kissed Bai Chengyu’s ears and trailed his lips down to his nape. Finding the sensitive spot there, he lightly nibbled and teased with his tongue before finally sinking his fangs into Bai Chengyu’s neck. The sharp yet tender bite marked their bond, as Han Junzhou infused his essence into Bai Chengyu.

The collision of their pheromones, with a compatibility rate of 96%, sent a shockwave through their minds, shattering their senses momentarily. In their embrace, they felt as if they were a lone boat drifting on a vast sea or a fish out of water stranded under a dazzling starlit sky—floating, swaying, utterly lost in each other.

The heightened climax, amplified by the intensity of their bond, was unlike anything either had experienced before. As the tremors of ecstasy gradually subsided, Han Junzhou held Bai Chengyu tenderly, allowing them both to recover from the overwhelming high.

Though the mark was only temporary and did not pierce the gland, the bite that broke the skin still brought a sharp sting. Bai Chengyu instinctively flinched when the skin broke, but as Han Junzhou’s hormones surged into him, an overwhelming wave of pleasure took over, making his entire body shudder. Bai Chengyu closed his eyes, letting go of all the tangled thoughts about Alphas and Omegas, of being controlled or claimed. In this moment, he was simply a fish, willingly captured by the boat.

He basked in the intoxicating blend of rosewood and rose scents that filled the room, their pheromones melding seamlessly. The rosewood took on a delicate sweetness from the rose, while the rose gained a steady resilience from the wood, creating a harmony that could no longer be distinguished apart.

This night was unlike any they had shared before—more passionate, more intense, and far more in tune with each other’s hearts.
