Seizures caused by mana hypersensitivity do not have consistent timing or pain levels.

Depending on one’s condition, a seizure could occur earlier than usual, and the intensity of the pain varied based on the concentration of mana accumulated in the body.

Unfortunately, Huiyun’s current seizure was the worst in the past decade.

After returning from the demon realm, Huiyun’s body was filled with dense and murky demonic energy, and he hadn’t had enough mental rest due to his disciples.

On top of that, he had used Yasha’s abilities, leaving his body in shambles, and the stress he had been under had made his organs sensitive. It was no surprise he felt twice or three times the usual pain.

    “Heuuu….”

As soon as the seizure began, Huiyun choked and collapsed forward, coughing up blood and convulsing. It wasn’t his own will; it felt as if some force was lifting and throwing his body around at random.

    “Huiyun, Huiyun!”

Juan, panicking, tried to hold Huiyun’s body, but even his S-rank strength couldn’t calm the seizure.

Pressing down on Huiyun’s arms and legs only made his torso jerk, and pressing his torso made his head thrash around while he spat out blood.

“Ash, move aside. It seems he’s reacting more sensitively to an awakened’s power.”

Nameless recognized Huiyun’s condition and quickly pushed Juan away.

    Still, the seizure didn’t stop.

    “Keuh!”

High-pitched groans kept escaping, and even though he didn’t want to, sobbing sounds came out of his lips.

Doctors who had rushed in after hearing the call bell urgently restrained Huiyun and administered a sedative.

As Huiyun convulsed during the seizure, blood started splattering uncontrollably.

“Mr. Huiyun! You need to calm down! You can’t help the seizure, but try to control your breathing first! You know this. If you don’t catch it early, it’ll only get worse!”

One of the doctors scolded Huiyun while putting an oxygen mask on him. Huiyun, panting like a hyperventilating patient, twisted his head, struggling to escape the mask.

As the sedative flowed into his body, his whole body felt like it was on fire, and he screamed.

The door burst open as Huigang rushed in.

    “Huiyun!”

Pale as a ghost, he knelt on the floor and grabbed Huiyun’s hand.

“It’s okay. Just hold on a bit longer. Okay? Just endure a little. You just need to stay calm for a moment.”

Holding Huiyun’s hand with both of his as if in prayer, Huigang repeated comforting words.

Sweat dripped from the doctors’ chins, and Huiyun’s hands and feet trembled violently.

His heart was burning and in pain. It felt like lava was being poured down his throat into his insides.

The intense heat seemed to melt all his veins and internal organs, making it impossible to suppress his screams, but the doctors continued to shout, trying to calm him.

The burning sensation meant that the mana stabilizer was working to calm and dilute the mana in his body. The more effective it was, and the more mana accumulated in his body, the more intense the pain would be, so the pain was inevitable.

This familiar pain never became any easier to bear, and Huiyun thrashed, rubbing his head into the pillow.

He thought he had adapted to most seizures, but the concentrated, murky demonic energy from the demon realm was too much for his fragile body to handle.

Still, thanks to his experience living with mana hypersensitivity, Huiyun managed to stay conscious even through the pain, his tear-filled eyes glancing at his disciples with hardened expressions.

Even though they had seen him faint from penalties multiple times, Juan’s face was as pale as if he were watching someone on their deathbed.

Next to him, Jiwook was even worse.

Even a plaster statue wouldn’t be as pale as him.

Jiwook, whose face had turned ghostly white, muttered something.

The noise around and the screams escaping Huiyun’s mouth made it impossible to understand.

Nameless, on the other hand, looked at him with a dissatisfied and annoyed expression. His displeased eyes seemed to question why Huiyun refused to change his body if he was in so much pain.

No matter how painful it is, there are principles one must uphold.

‘How could I change this body?’

Huiyun suppressed a laugh, almost choking on blood.

    “Huiyun….”

Huigang murmured, intertwining his fingers with Huiyun’s and closing his eyes. It was a familiar scene on the days when Huiyun’s seizures were severe.

Having such a brother was the reason Huiyun could live with a mana hypersensitivity disorder.

He didn’t want to take away even a part of his brother, Huigang.

He wanted to remain Mok Huiyun, his brother.

    Mentally and physically.

Huiyun was quite fond of the fate he was born into in this life.

Thus, changing his body wasn’t an option, aside from the reason of defying the natural order.

Perhaps the confusion between accepting Yasha’s memories and will and keeping Mok Huiyun’s identity was due to this very reason.

It would have been easier if he had given up on one side completely.

If he could fully live as Mok Huiyun, he could have coldly dismissed, ignored, and fled from his disciples, hiding somewhere and living solely for Huigang, shirking all duties and responsibilities.

But since he couldn’t choose such an option, he was both Yasha in his past life and Mok Huiyun, Huigang’s brother, in this life.

This could be why he felt more stressed, disgusted with himself for being unable to do either.

    Pathetic.

‘Whether in the past or now, I’m still foolish and cowardly.’

With that realization, Huiyun glared at his disciples, who all flinched and twisted their expressions.

“…You should have rescued Zenith first.”

Vita, who had been struggling to watch Huiyun’s seizure, finally spoke. Huiyun turned his head, noting how, despite usually being so noisy, his disciples were at a loss during his painful moments.

    “I’ll administer another sedative.”

“Didn’t I ask you to please stay still? Where did you go to end up like this?”

Seeing Huiyun calm down slightly, the doctors quickly administered another sedative. Huiyun laughed bitterly inside at their question.

If they knew he had been to the demon realm, they’d faint.

    Especially Huigang.

He was already pale, praying for his brother to recover, and if he found out about the demon realm, he’d probably collapse.

Huiyun’s priority, for both his brother and his disciples, was to delay the war as much as possible so everyone could live peacefully for a long time.

He would do anything to achieve that.

With that goal in mind, Huiyun slowly closed his eyes.

His consciousness began to fade, and shortly after, the first seizure subsided.

    ***

Fortunately, the most painful first seizure was short but intense, allowing Huiyun to escape quickly.

However, mana hypersensitivity seizures didn’t end with just one.

They continued for three to five rounds, and this time Huiyun’s condition was the worst, as evidenced by him waking sporadically even while unconscious and suffering through five seizures.

When all the seizures finally ended, and Huiyun completely passed out, it had been 32 hours since the first seizure began.

Having stayed awake by Huiyun’s side the entire time, Huigang finally stood up when the seizures ceased. Even a B-rank hunter found it difficult to kneel for 32 hours straight, so Juan helped steady him as he swayed.

    “…Thank you.”

Huigang, visibly exhausted, expressed his gratitude and gently stroked the sleeping Huiyun, drenched in sweat and completely drained. Only then did the disciples voice their concerns.

    “Is it really over now?”

“Do mana hypersensitivity seizures usually hit that hard? He didn’t seem this bad the other times he fainted.”

    “Yasha….”

Except for Vita, the three disciples had often seen Huiyun coughing up blood and fainting.

However, since Huiyun usually got up quickly afterward, they had assumed this time would be similar, making the severe seizure more shocking.

Even as Yasha, they had never seen him suffer so much.

Jiwook, feeling an unfamiliar emotion tighten his chest, frowned.

Huigang, observing Jiwook’s expression, seemed to be searching for the right words.

“…It doesn’t usually hit that hard. This is the first time I’ve seen it this severe. When his condition is poor, or when he’s overexerted both physically and mentally, or overly exposed to mana, the seizure symptoms can worsen like this….”

Every time Huigang listed a factor that could exacerbate the seizures, Yasha’s disciples flinched.

Deterioration of physical and mental health.

    Overexertion beyond physical limits.

    Exposure to dense, dark mana.

These three conditions had become a regular part of Huiyun’s life.

Huigang noticed their reactions and glared at the Korean S-ranks and foreign S-rank hunters.

At that moment, Nameless, who had been silently observing Huiyun’s condition, spoke up.

“Indeed, it might be better to change his body. The power Yasha possesses is too much for that body to handle. If he doesn’t want to suffer seizures every day, it would be better to switch bodies as soon as possible.”

The statement was like a bomb dropped in the hospital room.

Huigang blinked, wondering if he had heard wrong.

    “…What are you talking about?”

    Switching bodies.

An idea that defied common sense, but Huigang knew what kind of power the man before him wielded.

    The first necromancer.

A person who dealt with death and manipulated corpses. His words carried weight and weren’t easy to dismiss.

Trying to understand, Huigang quickly realized Nameless was talking about switching Huiyun’s body and blinked rapidly.

    So, basically.

    …You want to kill Huiyun?

As soon as he grasped the situation, Huigang’s expression twisted.

    “This is problematic.”

Recently, Huigang felt as if the world was testing his patience to its limits.

It was bearable when his brother, who he had lovingly cared for since childhood, awakened and started causing trouble.

That could be tolerated with love.

Enduring his brother’s seizures and the penalties from using his abilities was also manageable.

Even if he had to scold him harshly once, it wouldn’t break Huigang.

However, three Korean S-rank hunters constantly pressuring his brother and interfering in their lives was crossing the line.

There’s a limit to what one can endure.

Seeing them disrupt the peaceful lives of the siblings was intolerable.

Despite their S-rank status, Huigang had tried to keep his temper in check, fearing their power and influence might harm Huiyun.

    But now, what?

Not only has an additional foreign S-rank hunter joined, making things even more difficult, but now they’re suggesting changing Huiyun’s body, which is clearly suffering from their interference?

    What the hell?
