Chapter 40: The Legend of Happiness

It’s said that those who witness the aurora will be blessed with a lifetime of happiness. Of course, it’s just an unverifiable legend—likely a slogan crafted to attract tourists who’ve never seen the aurora before.

For someone like Sade, who’s been to Ice Tungsten Star countless times and seen the aurora dozens of times, it should’ve lost its novelty. But this time, for the very first time, he thought: The aurora is truly beautiful. This legend must be real.

He felt so incredibly lucky. Watching the aurora with Lin You—surely, this was the kind of moment that promised a lifetime of happiness.

Lin You gazed at the aurora for a while with focused eyes, then turned around and looked at Sade’s sorrowful expression. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he lowered his head and kissed him.

The Omega’s fragrance—bitter with a trace of olive—quickly filled the entire car. Under Lin You’s conscious control, the scent wrapped itself entirely around Sade.

And then suddenly, a thick ocean-like scent flooded the air.

“Mmm…” Lin You whimpered softly. Sade’s scent had fully engulfed him, and his entire body went weak. His glands reacted instantly—he began to enter heat.

He rested his cheek against Sade’s chest, sweat already soaking through his clothes. The temperature inside the car kept rising, their scents intertwining in a fevered haze.

Sade’s hand slipped lower, unfastening Lin You’s pants with practiced ease.

His fair thighs were immediately exposed to the cool air. The Omega’s arousal had already risen, the tip of his shaft glistening with a clear fluid.

“Baby, give me a second. I need to wipe down the car.” Sade chuckled awkwardly. The vehicle was a complete mess now—just as wild as they had been minutes ago. At the very least, he needed to clean and air it out before they could drive back to the cabin.

“…” Lin You looked at him helplessly. It was true—no matter what status or rank one held, some things just had to be done personally.

He lay back on the ground, gazing up at the brilliant aurora still dancing across the sky. A long time had passed since they’d arrived, and yet the lights hadn’t faded.

Surprisingly, the spot Sade had casually chosen to stop at offered a spectacular view—no light pollution, no people, no obstructions. Nearby, there was only a low stone wall, like the remnants of some ancient structure…

“This is a shrine ruin left behind by the indigenous people of Ice Tungsten Star,” Sade said as he finished cleaning and walked over to Lin You’s side. He noticed Lin You staring at the stone wall and smiled as he explained.

“They didn’t know what auroras were back then. They thought it was a celestial god descending, so they built this shrine to worship the angels and pray for peace.”

“But if we explain it from a scientific perspective now, it’s really just a place where auroras are especially visible.”

“The legend of the gods descending is still quite romantic, though. It’s just that people nowadays don’t believe in gods anymore.” Lin You was still basking in the afterglow, his face flushed, his entire demeanor soft and emotional as he spoke quietly.

“I believe—baby, I believe in you. You’re my angel,” Sade said with a smile.

“Oh stop it, you’re being ridiculous,” Lin You said with a shy laugh at his teasing.

He rested his head against Sade’s shoulder, looking up at the sky and saying, “Sade, thank you. No one has ever planned a trip like this for me. I know this entire journey was arranged just for me.”

“Baby, this won’t be the only time. There’ll be a second time, a third, and countless more after that. We’re going to explore the universe together.”

“Thank you… I’m really, really happy.”
