by CherryPark Dong-sik looked at the bracelet he’d left in the box and breathed a sigh of relief. He’d managed to cajole and cajole and cajole and get it back, but the box was visibly scratched. Damn.
After they finished having sex and he sent Kim Tae-han back to his room, Park Dong-sik sprayed Kim Jun-han’s room with a pheromone eliminator. Starting with the bed, he sprayed the walls, then the entrance, then ventilated the room, then sprayed again…and again, covering up as many traces as possible.
He was worried that the other man would notice because he was so sensitive and perceptive, but when Park Dong-sik finished cleaning up and went outside, he felt so tired that he fell asleep on the couch. He turned on the TV and dozed off and on, and before he knew it, it was dinner time and the staff brought him dinner.
Looking at the food on the table, Park Dong-sik furrowed his brow.
“The boss told me to prepare a good meal for you.”
Even if it was food that was good for his stomach, it was seriously bland. It was enough to make him lose his appetite. He barely took a spoonful, but fortunately it tasted okay. After finishing his meal alone, Park Dong-sik repeatedly took out and put away his cigarette to suppress the urge to smoke.
They say cigarettes have a deadly effect on children, but isn’t stress worse? I’ll ask the doctor the next time I see him. Eventually, he couldn’t resist any longer, and he paced around the living room with the filter in his mouth, chewing like a dog that needed to take a shit, when he heard a popping noise from downstairs.
Park Dong-sik shoved the cigarette into his pocket and walked over to the railing. He looked down to see Kim Jun-han talking to an employee after coming home from work. After the employee went back inside, Park Dong-sik looked nervously at his bedroom, the door firmly shut.
I’ve been spraying and ventilating like crazy…will he notice?
His anxiety worsened as the footsteps got closer. Then he started to wonder why he was so nervous. He knew all along, didn’t he? But he was the only person in this house who knew Dong-sik’s true identity.
Kim Jun-han could have kicked him out right away, but he gave Park Dong-sik a grace period, so he shouldn’t do anything disrespectful while he was still here. He let out a small sigh as Kim Jun-han appeared on the stairs. Park Dong-sik’s expression changed drastically, the corners of his mouth twitching upward.
“Hey! CEO Kim is here.”
Kim Jun-han inclined his head slightly.
“It’s suspicious that you’re so happy to see me. Did you do something wrong?”
Park Dong-sik was stunned and almost lost control of his expression. At this point, Kim Jun-han wasn’t just a seer; he should be setting up a mat and telling fortunes. Park Dong-sik held out the bracelet and said with a sly joke,
“You gave me such an expensive gift, so of course, I should be happy. I was going to run out barefoot and greet you at the door.”
“Seeing you act so slick, you must have done something wrong.”
He headed for the bedroom, and Park Dong-sik’s heart pounded in his chest. Please. Please. Finally, Kim Jun-han entered the bedroom. He took a couple of steps inside and suddenly stopped and turned around. He frowned, and Park Dong-sik jumped back in surprise.
No way…
He rushed out and approached Park Dong-sik.
“I’m going to the car, I forgot something.”
“Oh…”
“What is it? That stupid look on your face?”
“No, I was just lost in thought for a moment.”
As soon as Kim Jun-han disappeared downstairs, Park Dong-sik, alone, leaned against the marble pillar and swept his hand across his chest. Shit. This is too nerve-wracking. With a guilty conscience, he went to the bedroom to check around the bed for any remaining traces. Sniff, sniff, he even smelled around when he heard footsteps behind him.
“What are you doing in my room?”
“I was changing the sheets earlier, and this one got crooked….I’m OCD and I can’t stand anything disorderly.”
While Park Dong-sik was fiddling with the sheets, Kim Jun-han put a large box on the floor and took off his jacket.
“Do you really have OCD?”
“Yes. I also have mysophobia.”
Park Dong-sik opened my mouth to say something, but Kim Jun-han snorted.
“Don’t think you have mythomania as well?”
He opened my mouth to ask. He glared at Park Dong-sik, who glared back.
“Don’t come into my room without my permission from now on.”
“Yes, yes. Okay.”
Park Dong-sik sarcastically turned around to leave, but Kim Jun-han walked in and closed the door before the other man could leave. He turned around in surprise to see Kim Jun-han glaring down at him.
“Today is an exception.”
Park Dong-sik swallowed hard. His hole had been loosened by the two sex sessions he and Kim Tae-han had earlier. If he tried to have sex now, Kim Jun-han would probably notice. Park Dong-sik’s gaze traveled to Kim Jun-han’s crotch. Let’s hit him first. Let’s pretend to be in heat and give him a blow job.
Formulating a plan in his head, Park Dong-sik knelt down in front of the other man. Actually, if he hadn’t done it with Kim Tae-han today, he would rather have sex with Kim Jun-han. Their sex styles were as different as they were alike, and he usually preferred it with Kim Jun-han anyway.. Park Dong-sik smiled, his eyes twinkling as he undid his belt.
“I don’t think you’ll be able to penetrate, so I’ll suck it out for you okay?”
Park Dong-sik licked his lips with his tongue in anticipation, but Kim Jun-han grabbed his wrist, pulled him to his feet, and led him to the bed. As if he couldn’t care less about the sex, he moved the box he just brought from downstairs to his feet. Park Dong-sik stared down at the box. Before he had a chance to ask what it was, the other man opened it. It contained what looked like a bazooka, which made him even more curious. He couldn’t be planning to blow up Kim Tae-han’s outbuilding with this, right?
Kim Jun-han pulled the instructions out of the box and handed it to Park Dong-sik.
“I’ll get cleaned up, and you can put it together.”
“What is this?”
“An astronomical telescope.”
“What?”
“There’s a meteor shower starting tonight. The sky is clear here, and we’re far enough away from the city to see the stars.”
Park Dong-sik didn’t understand what he was saying. So was the other man really asking him to stay so that he could put this thing together for him?
“I’m going to wash up. Let’s watch it together.”
Park Dong-sik looked up at him with a puzzled expression on his face. When he was a kid, he’d stayed up all night staring at the sky because he’d been told that if you made a wish on a falling star, it would come true. It was a story from a very innocent time. He hadn’t slept in days, and the deputy director had come to scold him for it.
What wish was I trying to make back then…?
“Do you not want to?”
He chuckled. Well, why not? It wouldn’t be bad. After hearing Park Dong-sik’s answer, Kim Jun-han went into the bathroom. Park Dong-sik sat on the carpet and assembled the telescope according to the instructions. When he was almost finished, Kim Jun-han emerged from the bathroom, wearing comfortable cotton pants.
“You’ve got pretty fast hands. You’re good at it.”
“That’s enough talk for now.”
Then he handed Park Dong-sik a thick jumper.
“Put it on. It’s cold outside.”
It was Kim Jun-han’s, so the jumper was too big for him. Once outside, he set up the telescope and two camping chairs, as well as a small table and went downstairs to heat up some hot tea.
It smelled of cinnamon, which strangely calmed his rumbling stomach. After taking a sip, he pressed his eyes to the lens and furiously adjusted something. Kim Jun-han then motioned for Park Dong-sik to come closer. Park Dong-sik moved over and he lowered the lens to his face.
Park Dong-sik couldn’t spot any meteor shower, but he could see the twinkling stars quite clearly.
“See, that’s Orion, the constellation that’s most visible in winter, and if you move it a little bit, you’ll see Taurus.”
Kim Jun-han then proceeded to explain the constellations. He even tells Park Dong-sik the myths behind the constellations, and he felt like he was back in a boring classroom as a child. Park Dong-sik looked away from the lens and frowned.
“How long do I have to watch this?
“Aren’t you bored?”
“Is it boring?”
Kim Jun-han looked seriously troubled. Park Dong-sik was never really interested in the constellations or anything like that. He couldn’t afford to look up to see if the stars were up or the moon was up because he had to make a living, so he spent more days walking around looking at the ground. Suddenly, he realized that he had been living a very leisurely life and became bitter. What’s the big deal about just looking up at the sky and watching the stars?
The wind blew coldly, and Park Dong-sik wrapped his hands around the warm cup of tea because his hands were chilled. As he sipped the hot tea, Kim Jun-han put a hat on his head. Park Dong-sik stared at him in surprise, and then he smirked.
“I thought you were cold.”
“Come in with your blinkers on, you scared me.”
“What’s so surprising about putting a hat on your head?”
“I mean, think about the way you were acting with Lee Hee-soo not too long ago. Does this make any sense? To be honest, you just gave him a gift and acted so sweet. I’m fucking scared.”
“Was that affectionate behavior?”
“….”
“Park Dong-sik didn’t even have anyone to tip his hat to?”
Park Dong-sik’s mouth clamped shut, unable to say anything. “That’s how I grew up,” he said. “I wasn’t taken care of, and I had to fend for myself. I had to become poisonous to survive.” Park Dong-sik was stuck in his memories when Kim Jun-han tapped him on the shoulder. He said, “Hey. Look.”
Park Dong-sik followed where he pointed, and a shooting star fell in a diagonal line.
Park Dong-sik’s mouth dropped open in disbelief at the sight.
“Wow, I’ve never seen a shooting star before. Can I make a wish and have it come true?”
“I don’t know. You can try.”
Park Dong-sik quickly clasped his hands together and closed his eyes tightly.
Dear Star. Please help me give birth to a child safely and escape from this house with a good amount of money.
He prayed earnestly, very earnestly.
He opened his eyes slowly, and Kim Jun-han stared at him from the side.
His gaze made the other man flinch.
“W-Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I was wondering what you wished for.”
“If I tell you, the wish won’t come true. Why don’t you wish for something?”
“I don’t have a wish.”
“Why?”
“Because I got it all.”
“…”
“You thought I was being obnoxious just now, didn’t you?”
Park Dong-sik was stunned. Did I just say that out loud? Kim Jun-han laughed hysterically. Park Dong-sik laughed too, and the shooting stars continued to fall. Their gazes were fixed on the same place. With each exhale, their clean breath dispersed into the air. The tip of Park Dong-sik’s nose was red and his ears were tingling, but it turned out to be a good night.
