    Chapter Index

Behind Edward, a wide-open window and a pale moon were visible. Moonlight illuminated Edward’s bare feet.

Had he climbed up the tree? It seemed as though Edward had entered through the terrace.

I see. The guards weren’t monitoring my bedroom terrace at all, which is how Edward was able to enter.

It was unbelievable. Either the security system of this castle was lax, or Edward was extraordinary, but I didn’t think it was either.

It just seemed like the game setting was poorly designed.

Edward was dressed in his usual servant’s attire.

“Did you see anyone on your way here?”
“I avoided everyone. I won’t get you in trouble.”

My head was starting to ache.

“Edward, you don’t remember what I said, do you?”
    “What did you say?”

Edward was the kind of child who remembered his mother, whom he had parted with at the age of three, but couldn’t recall anything I had said to him even after just three months.

“I told you not to go out at night. It’s dangerous.”
    “You didn’t say that.”
    “I did.”
“No, you said, ‘Don’t go out when it’s too dark. I worry about you.’”
    “You remember?”
    “Yes.”
“I’m not complimenting your memory. Is it bright outside now?”

Edward narrowed his eyes as if gauging the light.

It was the middle of the night, after all. It was pitch black all around. The lamp in Joffrey’s bedroom had been burning all night, but that didn’t change the fact that it was dark.

“It depends on how you interpret it.” Edward concluded.

Interpret, my ass. “It’s dark. It’s nighttime.”

“You’re the one who’s hurt. Why are you worried about me?”

So you do know I’m worried?  Of course. To be honest, I couldn’t not be worried after what you did.

“Why do you think that is?”
    “I don’t know. You’ve become so strange.”
    “You’re the one who’s strange.”

“Joffrey, does it hurt?” Edward only said what he wanted.

I pulled down the thin blanket and showed him my wrist. “My face is fine, but my wrist hurts. You hit me hard.”

“Is your wrist broken?” Edward’s gaze was fixed on the white bandage.

“Did you hit me to break it?” When I asked with a smile, Edward lowered his head and shook it silently. “Why do you think it would break?”

“Joffrey. Do you want to break my wrist?”
“Have you been reading strange books?”

Edward shook his head again. It sounded like he had been reading something like the Code of Hammurabi.

    “Are you sleepy?”

When I questioned him again, Edward replied blankly. “No.”

“You sound like you’re talking nonsense because you’re sleepy.”
“You were the one who was sleeping just now.”
“Yeah. You’re the one keeping me awake.”

“Joffrey, are you really okay? You don’t want to get revenge on me, do you?” Edward said with his head bowed. His expression was hidden. “I don’t want you to get revenge on me when you finally decide to.”

“Edward.” He really did seem sleepy. “Stop thinking about pointless things and go to bed.”

    “… Okay.”

Edward got up dazedly, looking as if he had been hit. He went out to the terrace and jumped over the railing. He disappeared in an acrobatic leap.

Where did he learn that? Self-taught?

Joffrey had every reason to feel jealous. From Joffrey’s perspective, it was similar to a situation where he was receiving private lessons costing millions of won a month, yet the kid who only studied textbooks was the top student in the school.

But there are always people who are naturally talented at everything.

Yoo Yeon-ho was one of them. He wasn’t good at sports, though.

When someone is too different from you, you don’t feel jealousy. Joffrey was talented enough to be second, so it must have been tough for him.

Of course, I think the person who made Joffrey’s life difficult was the Queen.

This chapter is way too short so I’ll release it with the next chapter and lower the price 😀
