    “Ugh…! Uwaaaack!”

With a strange sound, a large amount of blood poured out from his mouth and nose as he convulsed.

Watching the surreal sight of the blood staining the asphalt, he let out a chilling chuckle.

No matter how much I pushed myself today, isn’t this too much?

Blood surged through his throat again.

He tried to swallow it, but there was so much that he could only vomit it out.

    “Sigh….”

Huiyun wiped his red lips and staggered.

Thankfully he has the memories of his past life.

If not for that, the 20-year-old Huiyun would have panicked, crying out about dying soon, calling for an ambulance, and probably writing a farewell letter to his brother Huigang.

It was enough blood loss to make him feel like he was on death’s door, so Huiyun, with a pale face, stood for a while to regain his bearing.

Then he leaned against the wall before making his way to the hospital.

His legs wobbled with each slow step. Exhausted from overusing his abilities, he felt like he was about to collapse.

    “I must be crazy.”

What made him use his abilities three times in one day?

Even using it once should warrant him lying in bed in agony, let alone three times.

It was all because of the neglectful handling of the urgent tasks by the Hunter Management Bureau, which were supposed to be resolved within 10 minutes.

There was also a bit of a personality issue, to be honest.

Even if people were in danger, if they weren’t in a condition to do anything, one should compromise with reality and just pass by.

But Huiyun wasn’t good at that. If there was someone in trouble, he would help them, despite knowing that it would take a toll on his body.

It seems like his nature doesn’t change even after living for thousands of years and being reincarnated.

Well, if it had changed, I wouldn’t have chosen suicide in his past life.

“No… Still, shouldn’t things change after ten thousand years?”

Huiyun muttered a self-directed reproach as he briefly glanced at the system window still floating in his field of vision.

For the past three years, the system window had persistently been urging Huiyun to become a hunter.

It was as if it was saying that if he was going to save people by using his abilities, he might as well awaken and do it legally and comfortably.

Taking a quiet breath, Huiyun casually ignored the window, as he always did.

    And so, step by step.

Slow but surely he moved forward, suddenly he struggled to swallow down the rising blood once again.

A sudden doubt crossed his mind.

Wouldn’t vomiting this much blood in a short period of time lead to anemia?

Huiyun found the answer as quickly as the question popped into his mind.

    Thud!

    Directly through his body.

    “Uh…?”

“Someone, please call a doctor! Someone collapsed here!”

Just before reaching the hospital entrance, his vision blurred and his body, losing its balance, crashed to the ground.

People walking by noticed his collapsed form and rushed towards his with worried faces.

Watching them multiply like clones as his vision wavered, Huiyun thought to himself.

    Damn system.

It was downright nonsensical to penalize with blood loss without providing immunity to anemia.

How can I awaken in this situation?

He scolded the system for their lack of service, but his eyelids closed.

    “Excuse me! Excuse me!”

    “Please call a doctor!”

As Huiyun lost consciousness, the voices around him grew more desperate. And amidst the commotion surrounding Huiyun, the system window continued to hover around him, emitting an ominous humming sound.

    Hummm…

It made an ominous vibrating noise.

    ***

    “Hmm….”

    “Huiyun!”

As he tossed and turned, he opened his eyes.

He saw a sturdy arm reaching out and pulling him into an embrace.

The scent brushing against his nose was familiar.

The strength of the caressing touch, the messy hand stroking his head, Huiyun raised finally raised his head.

    “Brother.”

“You collapsed again. Where on earth did a frail kid like you go?”

Huigang grabbed Huiyun’s shoulders and interrogated him with a loud voice.

Huiyun scratched his cheek and lied, saying he just went for a walk because he felt stuffy.

    Huigang’s expression quickly darkened.

“Just yesterday, your condition seemed fine, but suddenly why…”

Sorry, brother. I used my abilities outside again, and that’s why.

“The doctor heard that you vomited blood.”

    That’s a side effect of my abilities…

“This is driving me crazy. You were clearly getting better three years ago, so why is your body getting weaker?”

Actually, I’d be fine if I just didn’t use my abilities.

As each response that came to his mind seemed like it would make Huigang collapse with despair, he decided to just shut his mouth.

Huigang finally sighed, stroking Huiyun’s head.

“I’m looking for an elixir for you, so just hold on a little longer.”

“There’s no need to go that far.”

“What do you mean by that? I become a hunter was all for you.”

When the 17-year-old Huiyun recalled memories from his past life, Huigang, who was 27 at the time, awakened as a hunter.

Touched with tears, Huigang, who heard rumors that it might be the will of God to save you, started his hunter career chasing after the legendary panacea elixir. It had already been three years, but Huigang still couldn’t find even a trace of the elixir.

Huigang was touched to tears, he thought it might bet he will of god that he awakened as a hunter and vowed to look for the rumored Panacea Elixir to cure his brother.

It’s already been three years since then, but Huigang still couldn’t find even a trace of the elixir.

Huigang said that even if he couldn’t find it, he would somehow win the bid if the item came out, but in Huiyun’s opinion, even that seemed far-fetched.

When the elixir appears, not only will there be B-rank hunters, but also A-rank and S-rank hunters, as well as numerous conglomerates participating in the auction.

There was no way the smart Huigang didn’t know the reality of the situation.

Yet Huigang, as if brainwashed to find a solution no matter what, repeated to himself that he would find it somehow.

At times, Huiyun even wondered if it would be better for him to just awaken.

According to the system, if he awaken and become a hunter, his mana hypersensitivity will be cured.

But Huiyun, who had already recalled his past life, was in a fairly healthy state.

The seizures that other mana hypersensitivity patients had once a week had decreased to once a month.

Awakening wasn’t necessary to cure him.

All Huiyun could do, having put his choice on hold, was to stop Huigang.

He shouldn’t use his abilities before that, but what can he do if people were in danger?

“They say I’m really okay. I just felt a little dizzy. I’m fine now. Look.”

After the penalty ended, his physical condition was indeed fine, the doctor probably said similar things.

Huigang muttered that he couldn’t tell if this was a blessing or a curse, he sat down to slice fruit for his brother and turned on the TV.

The news of Huiyun’s recent exploit was being broadcasted on TV.

[Breaking news. This morning, the three gate outs that occurred in the Sillim-dong area were resolved by an unidentified hunter. The survivors of the gate outs claim that once again, the white spear slew the monsters, and the Hunter Management Bureau is still searching for the hunter who handled this case, including this one, as they have been concealing their identity and suppressing the gate outs for fifteen consecutive times. The management bureau has promised sufficient compensation to the hunter….]

    “Cough!”

    “Huiyun!”

“I’m fine. Just got a little dizzy.”

As the gate out incident, which had just been resolved, appeared on the news, Huiyun coughed and drank the water handed to him by Huigang.

The TV showed an interview with the survivor

[It feel like they’re a hero, to be honest. Makes me wonder if heroes really exist. There are rumors that they might be an unregistered hunter, but anyway, they saved people, right? I think it’s great.]

Such interviews continued several times. As he watched the broadcast with a bewildered expression, Huigang handed him fruit with a fork and chuckled as he glanced at the TV.

“They say that person has already resolved the gate out fifteen times. Isn’t that impressive? Looking at the traces, it looks like that hunter did it alone, but it is not easy for one hunter to solve a gate-out phenomenon.”

    “…Is that so?”

“Yeah. I don’t know why they’re hiding their identity and operating secretly, but I’m grateful. They save people without asking for anything in return.”

    “Is that so…”

Huiyun had to put a lot of effort into managing his facial expression as he didn’t know how to react to what Huigang was saying in front of him, so he just tuned him out.

And a word that shattered Huiyun’s efforts came out of Huigang mouth.

“They can’t be called an anonymous hunter forever, so within the hunter community, they’re called The Savior.”

    “Cough!”

    “Huiyun?”

    “Cough, cough!”

As Huiyun coughed, the peach he was chewing on went down the wrong way, but he couldn’t help but think one thing.

    What…?

He wanted to believe he misheard, but unfortunately, his hearing wasn’t flawed enough to misinterpret.

Huiyun spat out the peach he accidentally swallowed and let out a laugh.

Coincidentally, the news also mentioned the same thing.

[In the public, the unnamed hunter is called The Savior….]

    Madness.

What on earth is wrong with this country?

He had deliberately hidden his identity to avoid attention, but now he was burdened with an unnecessarily grandiose nickname.

It was definitely not a good sign, Huiyun sighed, feeling exasperated at once again becoming The Savior.

One way or another, he wondered if he was destined to live as The Savior.

    Mok Huiyun, 20 years old.

In the prime of his life, Huiyun chewed on his peach, burdened with unique concerns.
