Afterward, Badger Fugui returned to the fire, packing his bag quickly under the reluctant gazes of the animals. He took three bottles of water and a pack of compressed biscuits, then left.

As he was about to leave, Blackback and the Husky wanted to follow their leader, but the injured Blackback and the utterly useless Husky were both coldly rejected by Badger Fugui.

Even the bald ^[1]parrot, flapping its wings around him, was squawking:

“Grandpa can fly!! Grandpa can see far!!”

In the end, Badger Fugui still refused: “In this heavy rain, what are you flying for? If you fly for hours, you won’t have a single feather left. Stay here like a good bird.”

The proud parrot princess was furious, while the cats and dogs enjoyed the situation.

When Badger Fugui pulled out another jar of honey from his backpack, grimaced, and took a big swig, Xie Tianlang couldn’t hold back and raised an eyebrow.

“You’ve already had two and a half jars of honey, haven’t you?” he asked.

Badger Fugui, now feeling a bit sick from the sweetness, was in a foul mood. He shot a glare at Xie Tianlang and snapped back, “So what if I’m drinking honey? It’s not like I’m drinking your honey!”

Xie Tianlang, unfazed by the irritable Badger Fugui, couldn’t help but smile a little at his reaction. “Honey’s good for your skin. It’s great for beauty and anti-aging.”

“I just wanted to ask—don’t you feel sick from all the sweetness?”

Honey Badger Fugui: ……

But the werewolf, walking ahead of him, didn’t seem out of the ordinary at all. He was just humming an old, worn-out song that made Fugui’s scalp tingle:

Irritated Fugui: “What kind of ancient song is that?! Isn’t it creepy to sing this late at night? Change it!!”

Werewolf Xie suddenly stopped, turned his head, and looked at the irritated Fugui with bright eyes. Then, switching without hesitation, he sang a new one:

“Just captured a few demons! And subdued a few more! How come there are so many evil spirits?!”

Honey Badger Fugui: “! Change it again! Can you stop being so noisy?!”

Werewolf Xie nodded and switched songs again: “Calabash Baby, Calabash Baby, Seven Flowers on One Vine… No fear of wind or rain… La la…?”

“What is with you and demons?!” Irritated Fugui finally couldn’t take it anymore, holding a spicy strip in his mouth, he extended his claws and swiped them at Werewolf Xie : “Damn creature, die!! Today, this great sage is going to rid the world of evil!!”

Werewold Xie suddenly burst into laughter. Without saying another word, he increased his speed and ran ahead, turning his head to provoke:

“Come chase me, come chase me~ If you catch me, I’ll let you hehehe~”

Irritable Fu Gui: “Huh? Hei! Ptui^[4]!”

What makes you think an idiot like you deserve to be ‘hehehed’ by me?!

Confirming with just a glance, this werewolf really is a werewolf with intermittent mental episodes!

Then, for some reason, the Fugui actually started chasing Werewolf Xie.

It seemed that with the goal of a provocation-driven chase and fight, the next five hours passed incredibly quickly.

When Gou Fugui downed the last sip of honey from the fourth can, he suddenly leaped, crashing onto Xie Tianlang’s back, who immediately stopped. Gou Fugui crouched on Xie Tianlang’s back, and in front of him, through the rain curtain, he saw the slightly desolate yet clearly visible bus stop.

They had actually arrived.

At this moment, the clouds in the sky parted slightly, letting through a hint of morning light. Though the rain was still falling, the world seemed to brighten.

Werewolf Xie extended his hand to support the legs of the person on his back and, with a smile in his voice, said:

“Good morning. Yuan Yuan.”

Badger Fugui almost jumped up but was held down by Werewolf Xie, who continued walking forward with him on his back.

“Alright stay put, let Dad carry you. Let’s go have a hot breakfast and then go back to save people”

“Dad your grandpa! This father is your Dad^[5]! ! Also, this Dad is not called Yuan Yuan!”

“Alright I got it Yuan Yuan, stop moving around. Does your feet hurt or feel sore?”

Gou Fugui laid on Xie Tianlang’s back. Lowering his head, he looked at the top of Xie Tianlang’s head. His expression flickered with a flash of mixed emotions, then ot settled into calm and depth.
