IPSDVS Chapter 2
by BrieChapter 2
After several hours, Nahyuk finally started to accept the sudden situation to some extent.
He didn’t know why, but it was clear that he had ended up in the body of Yoon Noah, the villainous uke from Even in Ruins, Flowers Bloom.
Possession…
The fact that something so unrealistic, something he had only ever read about in novels, had actually happened was astonishing.
At the same time, he didn’t entirely dislike his new circumstances.
There were no conservative parents here, no younger brother who despised him, and no company colleague he dreaded facing.
On top of that, Yoon Noah was the youngest son of Taekwang Construction, a major conglomerate. His immense wealth had been frequently mentioned in the novel.
The only problem was that Yoon Noah was an abandoned son.
Nahyuk recalled how he had been cast aside, according to the novel.
Yoon Noah had a terrible personality from a young age, and even his parents found him difficult to handle.
Shouting whenever something displeased him was the least of it—he had indulged in every kind of power trip imaginable.
Because of that, people called him Taekwang’s Wildcat.
On top of that, he hated studying and spent his time rebelling. It was almost surprising that he had never turned to drugs.
His parents had long since decided to give up on him.
Since their firstborn son was intelligent and the perfect heir, they had no regrets about discarding one child.
‘Noah. Fine. Live however you want. I’ll make sure you have enough money, but in return, don’t do anything that will harm the company.’
‘If you ever cause disgrace to Taekwang Construction, know that you’ll be thrown out with nothing.’
Even Yoon Noah didn’t want to live as a beggar, so he obediently followed his parents’ conditions.
He never caused scandals big enough to make front-page news, but within reason, he lived however he pleased.
Then, after the novel’s main seme, Seo Dowoong, fell in love with the main uke, Yoon Noah’s life started to take a turn for the worse.
Regardless, Yoon Noah was a rich man with no parental interference.
Lee Nahyuk found that aspect particularly appealing.
If he lived as Yoon Noah, at the very least, he could be freer than he had ever been as Lee Nahyuk.
Maybe he could even meet someone he loved and spend a lifetime together.
‘The only problem is… Yoon Noah is terminally ill.’
Nahyuk wondered at which point in the novel he had woken up.
Considering that Yoon Noah’s attending physician, Dr. Kim Myung, had sent a message, it seemed like this was around the time his terminal illness was revealed.
Lost in thought, Nahyuk absentmindedly picked at the breakfast Manager Song had prepared for him.
Manager Song, seemingly worried about Nahyuk’s lack of response, took it upon herself to contact Dr. Kim Myung.
Since this meant he no longer had to go to the hospital himself, Nahyuk didn’t stop her.
Shortly after he finished his breakfast, Dr. Kim arrived to see him.
“Young Master, good morning. There’s something I need to discuss with you.”
Dr. Kim hesitated before speaking, his expression slightly contorted.
At that moment, Nahyuk was certain what the doctor was about to say.
‘So this really is the part where he gets diagnosed as terminally ill. Was it in Episode 71?’
Dr. Kim entered the room and, with a heavy heart, began to speak.
“Lately, you’ve been experiencing frequent chest pains, and sometimes you feel so dizzy that you collapse, correct?”
Because he had just read this scene yesterday, the doctor’s words felt eerily familiar.
In Episode 71, Dr. Kim had said the exact same thing, word for word. The only difference was that the conversation had originally taken place at the hospital.
Playing the role of Yoon Noah, Nahyuk gave a slight nod.
Dr. Kim let out a small sigh and handed him a document detailing the test results before making his grim confession.
“It’s a rare and incurable disease. The fatality rate is quite high, and since no treatment has been developed yet, I can’t promise a full recovery. However, I strongly recommend that you admit yourself to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.”
In the novel, this was the moment when the real Yoon Noah would snap in anger.
And his response was—
‘Dr. Kim. Are you telling me I’m going to die?’
At that, Dr. Kim shut his eyes tightly before giving a grim response.
‘Yes… but if you undergo treatment, you might be able to live a few more years—’
‘Shut up! Are you seriously telling me I only have a few years left to live?’
‘N-No, that’s not what I meant…’
In the novel, the real Yoon Noah would grab Dr. Kim by the collar and threaten him.
‘I’ll pay you as much as you want. Go abroad, do whatever it takes, and find a cure. If you don’t come back with a solution, then both of us are as good as dead. Got it?’
‘…Y-Young Master…’
‘And remember this—I will never, ever get admitted to the hospital.’
The reason Yoon Noah refused hospitalization was obvious.
He didn’t want to rot away in a hospital bed, growing weaker and weaker as time passed. The thought of becoming dependent on medication, of watching himself deteriorate, was unbearable.
Instead of seeking treatment, he would go to Lee Kangil’s research lab.
Because he had suddenly recalled a recent article about Kangil.
It was probably an article about how the new drug Lee Kangil developed had saved many lives.
“Young Master? I know this must be a huge shock for you. But it’s not completely hopeless, so let’s not give up.”
Lee Nahyuk, lost in thought about the novel’s plot, belatedly responded.
“Okay.”
“…What?”
“Okay. Thank you, Dr. Kim.”
“…Excuse me??”
Dr. Kim’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Where was the sharp-tongued Yoon Noah, who always bared his fangs like a wildcat?
Normally, he would have shouted, ‘Are you trying to send me to my grave?’
Dr. Kim was so thrown off that he forgot to push up his slipping glasses.
“If that’s all you had to say, can I leave now? I happen to have somewhere to be… I’ll visit the hospital after I take care of it.”
“Uh… Y-Yes, of course. I’ll be going now.”
“Alright.”
“…What??”
Was he really answering so politely again?
Dr. Kim felt like he had just seen a ghost.
“Dr. Kim?”
“Ah, uh… I’m sorry. Ahem. Well then, I’ll take my leave.”
Dr. Kim bowed slightly before exiting the room, completely convinced that Yoon Noah had lost his mind after hearing his diagnosis.
Left alone, Nahyuk grabbed the wallet and phone that seemed to belong to Yoon Noah and stepped out of the house.
He hadn’t realized it while he was inside, but now that he was outside, the mansion was enormous.
The sprawling garden, the sheer size of the house that couldn’t even fit into his field of view—it was like something out of a TV show about celebrities’ luxurious homes.
‘Yoon Noah, you really had it all. If not for the terminal illness, this life would be perfect.’
Just then, a soft summer breeze ruffled his hair, carrying the scent of the season.
In that moment, he felt a deep sense of liberation.
“Freedom is right in front of me.”
He wanted to recover quickly with the help of the new drug and fully enjoy Yoon Noah’s life.
To do that, he needed to find Lee Kangil as soon as possible—just like the Yoon Noah in the novel had done.
Finding Lee Kangil’s research lab wasn’t difficult.
Although the novel hadn’t provided detailed information, simply searching his name on a portal site brought up the lab’s address.
However, since it was a facility dedicated to pharmaceutical research, entry for outsiders was strictly prohibited.
After debating what to do, Nahyuk decided to take a chance and mention his name.
To his surprise, that alone was enough for the staff to personally escort him all the way to Kangil’s research lab.
He had prepared himself to be turned away, yet he had gained entry so effortlessly that it almost felt anticlimactic.
‘Yoon Noah, you’re seriously amazing.’
Nahyuk couldn’t help but think that again.
Soon, he arrived at the research lab. Unlike the Yoon Noah in the novel, who had stormed in without hesitation, Nahyuk carefully knocked on the door. Knock, knock.
“Um… is anyone inside?”
A soft voice from within answered.
“Come in.”
Nahyuk hesitated before stepping into the research lab.
Inside, a man sat with one long leg lazily crossed over the other.
He wore a white lab coat with the name Lee Kangil embroidered on it.
Nahyuk thought he might be the most handsome man he had ever seen.
His deep black eyes were unreadable yet beautiful, and his sharply defined nose stood out without a single flaw.
His pale complexion, likely from being buried in research, contrasted starkly with his jet-black hair, giving him an inexplicable air of decadence.
Even his casually tousled hair looked effortlessly stylish, as if it had been deliberately styled that way.
At that moment, the man’s red lips moved softly.
“Yoon Noah. I was a little surprised—you actually knocked, which doesn’t suit you.”
He spoke indifferently, then slowly brushed back the strands of hair that had fallen over his forehead. His movements were languid, almost lazy.
Nahyuk unconsciously swallowed.
‘Lee Kangil… he’s seriously handsome.’
Surprisingly, he was exactly Nahyuk’s type.
His ideal man was someone with a lazy yet sensual aura.
Caught up in Kangil’s alluring presence, Nahyuk forgot to respond.
Unable to bear the silence, Kangil spoke again.
“I know you’ve been diagnosed with a terminal illness. That’s why you’re here, isn’t it?”
That line—wasn’t it exactly what he had read in Even in Ruins, Flowers Bloom, Episode 71?
If so, then Kangil’s next line would be…
“The hospital you go to? It’s owned by my company.”
…That was the next line, wasn’t it?
‘The hospital you go to? It’s owned by my company.’
Sure enough, Lee Kangil recited his dialogue from the novel word for word.
“And here’s the important part. I can’t guarantee anything, but we just so happen to have developed a new drug that might cure your illness. It’s not ready for commercial use yet, but…”
Next, he was supposed to tell him to crawl between his legs.
Nahyuk glanced at Kangil’s long, lean legs.
Crawling between the legs of a man who was practically his ideal type… didn’t seem like the worst thing in the world.
And if that was all it took to get the drug, then honestly, it was a deal worth making.
Before he even realized it, he found himself instinctively following Yoon Noah’s lines from the novel.
“I… can be saved…?”
