    Chapter 36

    “K-Kangil…”

The words Shouldn’t we stop here? never made it out. Nahyuk didn’t dislike Kangil’s touch.

He had gone his entire life without ever experiencing love, never once knowing what it felt like to share a body with another person—how intoxicating that could be.

He wasn’t in love with Lee Kangil, but he wanted to indulge in the heat that had taken over his whole body, just a little more.

That initial rush of excitement had been overwhelmingly intense. Like an instant addiction, it was impossible to stop halfway through.

Of course, it wasn’t that he wanted to go all the way with him. He figured Kangil probably didn’t either.

“If you want more, just say so.”

But contrary to Nahyuk’s assumption, Kangil seemed to want more. He unbuckled Nahyuk’s pants halfway.

Nahyuk’s underwear, already damp with heat, grew wetter. Without meaning to, he drew his legs in slightly.

The desire to go further clashed with the thought that Daon was just outside, and maybe this was where they should stop.

Unable to make a decision, Nahyuk simply stared at Kangil, who was moving his hands over his waist like it belonged to him.

    And then—a knock.

“Hyung, are you still not done talking?”

The voice belonged to Kim Daon, clearly tired of waiting.

“Mr. Kangil’s not bothering you, is he? If you don’t answer, I’m coming in.”

    “That little bastard…”

Kangil muttered under his breath, pulling back from where he was on top of Nahyuk.

He even reached down to fix the shirt he had pulled up earlier and gently smoothed Nahyuk’s messy bangs.

“If I push this any further, I’ll really become a bad guy.”

    “…”

“I’m not the kind of pervert who enjoys doing this with someone watching.”

But Kangil, maybe… just maybe, I wanted you to be that kind of pervert. Nahyuk didn’t say it. Instead, he sat up.

“So now your anger’s gone, and the misunderstanding’s cleared up?”

    “Who knows.”

Just then, the door swung open. They’d forgotten to lock it. Nahyuk realized he never responded to Daon.

Daon stood there, looking between the two of them.

“The air in here is… really thick.”

He seemed remarkably attuned to the atmosphere.

But Kangil didn’t show a trace of embarrassment. Instead, he responded boldly.

“Kim Daon, imagine it. Just like I did.”

    “….”

Daon didn’t answer. He simply stared at Nahyuk, who was sitting awkwardly upright.

His gaze, strangely colder than usual, swept over him.

Eventually, his eyes stopped at Nahyuk’s neck.

“Hyung… looks like something bit you.”

    “…”

“Are we really supposed to let a rabid dog into the house?”

Only then did Nahyuk remember the mark Kangil had left, like a brand, on his neck. Maybe Kangil had bitten him there just to show Daon.

    “Pfft, hahaha.”

Labeled a rabid dog in heat, Lee Kangil burst out laughing. The more Daon’s face twisted in irritation, the harder Kangil laughed.

He leaned in close and whispered softly in Nahyuk’s ear.

“Noah. I don’t know if my anger’s really gone, but I do feel like I got a bit of revenge on Kim Daon.”

After saying his piece, Kangil lifted his head, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.

It was a wicked, devilish grin.

    His mood had clearly improved.

By the time the chaotic commotion had come to an end, the clock pointed to 1 a.m. Nahyuk, who usually went to bed early, felt a wave of drowsiness wash over him.

He planned to send Kangil home while letting Daon stay over as he’d said he would…

    But—

“If Kim Daon’s sleeping here, then I’m staying too. What, are you seriously kicking me out in the middle of the night?”

Lee Kangil insisted on staying as if refusing to lose to Kim Daon. There was no way to break his stubbornness, so Nahyuk simply told the two of them to take any available room they liked.

    However—

“I’ll sleep next to you. Your bed’s huge, isn’t it?”

Kangil declared that he’d be sleeping in Nahyuk’s bed.

And almost instantly, as if he couldn’t let that slide, Kim Daon flared up with burning determination.

“Then I’ll sleep next to you too, hyung. You can’t leave a horny dog next to you.”

Why are you two like this? It’s nice to be fought over, sure, but…

Still, Nahyuk knew their rivalry had more to do with one-upping each other than with any feelings for him, so he didn’t hold out hope for their affections.

Never misreading or expecting anything from someone else’s heart.

That was something Nahyuk constantly reminded himself of after becoming Yoon Noah.

In the end, he gave up completely on trying to stop their bickering.

Neither of the two yielded even an inch as they growled at each other. There was no compromise in sight—not even a sliver.

And honestly, sleeping in the same bed with two ridiculously handsome men felt like a luxury.

That’s how Nahyuk ended up dozing off between them. The bed was wide enough for three adult men to sleep comfortably, so it wasn’t cramped.

The real issue was whether he could actually fall asleep between them.

Turn to the right, and Daon’s beautiful face was just there. Turn to the left, and there was Kangil’s strikingly handsome face.

If this wasn’t paradise, what was? Could someone really sleep in heaven?

As time passed, his mind only grew more alert. The drowsiness he’d felt earlier seemed like a distant dream.

Both men, eyes closed as if they’d long since fallen asleep, didn’t stir once—not even a bad sleeping habit in sight.

Do beautiful people not even snore? It made the world seem a bit unfair.

Ina Hyuk held his breath, studying their faces in turn. The whole situation struck him again with fresh absurdity.

These were the same two who used to loathe Yoon Noah—and now, within just a few days, they were practically battling for the spot beside him.

What would the real Yoon Noah think if he saw this?

Would he still yearn for Seo Dowoong even while receiving such attention from these two?

Seo Dowoong, who had misunderstood everything so badly, had been quiet for days now.

Surely, with this much time passed, he should have figured out who was behind Kim Daon’s car accident.

He wasn’t just any man—he was a top executive at one of the biggest conglomerates in the country. And his father was the company’s chairman.

With that kind of backing, there was no way he hadn’t already investigated a mere car accident thoroughly.

‘So then… I might get to hear Dowoong apologize soon, huh.’

Just imagining the moment Seo Dowoong apologized sent a thrill through him.

It might even feel similar to when Lee Kangil had kissed him below the navel—that same electric shiver. He couldn’t help but look forward to it.

And once he received that apology, it would truly be over between them.

Even if the original owner of this body—Yoon Noah—felt regret, there was no going back.

Ina Hyuk had no confidence in maintaining any kind of relationship with someone like Seo Dowoong, who looked at him with nothing but contempt. No matter how close they had once been.

That connection already seemed too far gone to ever be mended.

It was the first time he had ever made a wrong judgment.

Seo Dowoong was a man of strong convictions. He had never once considered the possibility that his decisions might be wrong. His choices were always right—never mistaken.

But today, the document he received from his chief secretary proved otherwise.

‘Yoon Noah wasn’t the one who caused Kim Daon’s accident…?’

The accident had been orchestrated by Park Sangcheol—the very man Daon had warned him about earlier.

Park Sangcheol had used an errand boy to try and cause the crash, completely unaware of how much Daon meant to Seo Dowoong.

More than being angry at Park Sangcheol, Seo Dowoong was furious at himself for misjudging the situation.

Late at night, he sat on a gray sofa, his expression deeply grave.

In the pitch-black darkness, with not a single light on, he replayed everything he had said.

‘How could you do something like this?’
‘And you still call yourself human?’
‘What misunderstanding? You set the whole thing up and just chickened out halfway, didn’t you?’

Now that he thought about it, he had definitely been too harsh.

Even considering all of Yoon Noah’s past petty behavior, he had acted far too rashly.

    “Haa…”

Seo Dowoong rubbed his face like someone wiping away exhaustion. In his ears, he could still hear Noah’s sharp voice.

‘If no proof turns up that I was involved, then you’ll get down on your knees and apologize.’
‘Say it like this: “I’m sorry I misunderstood. I won’t doubt you again.” Say it. You’re someone who’s so convinced I did it that you won’t be able to refuse once you see the truth, right?’

An apology… was that what he was supposed to do?

Of course, the idea of actually kneeling didn’t even cross his mind. What he was really debating was whether or not to apologize at all.

“But if I apologize that easily, he might end up liking me even more.”

Just thinking about how smug that sly little brat would get after hearing an apology made him bristle.

Still, a bet was a bet. Admitting he misunderstood seemed like the right thing to do. He wasn’t so petty as to deny losing a wager.

Seo Dowoong picked up the phone he’d left carelessly on the table and made a call. The recipient was Yoon Noah.

The dial tone rang on for a while. Then, what reached his ear was the cold, automated voice of a woman.

“The person you’re trying to reach is currently unavailable…”

Yeah, not surprising if he doesn’t pick up the first time.

After getting cornered like that, ignoring the call once was understandable.

Yoon Noah was human too—he must’ve been deeply hurt. After all, Dowoong had accused him of something as serious as attempted murder.

Unfazed, Seo Dowoong called again. This time, he was sure Noah would answer.
