KYB Ch 18
by Lulu(Guild) WhiteKimchi: LOL otherwise when else would I even pay my OTT[1] subscription ^^ hahaha
(Guild) Jinhee: lol Can’t afford it lol
(Guild) ^Card^: Kise-nim, you’re going with Yewoo-nim anyway ^^ our guild’s on the blacklist, so you can’t raid without guildmates ^^ lol
Even without their help, the situation turned in Yewoo Beomjeol’s favor. Because their guild was on the blacklist, Kisekki couldn’t raid without his own guild members anyway.
(Guild) Yewoo Beomjeol: Kisekki-nim, tomorrow’s Monday, so the boss resets.
(Guild) Kisekki: Not going.
(Guild) Yewoo Beomjeol: You’re really going to give up Wilt Rose’s rewards?
(Guild) KongKang: ㅇㅅㅇ.. Kisekki.. Do you have lots of gold?
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: ㅇㅅㅇ.. your gear blew up last time… you’re broke, don’t u…
(Guild) Nyamnyangi: ㅇㅅㅇ.. your gacha option failed too… you know that, right?
(Guild) KongKang: ㅇㅅㅇ.. you need to farm flowers though
(Guild) Nyamnyangi: ㅇㅅㅇ… you really should…
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: ㅇㅅㅇ… yeah you should….
(Guild) Kisekki: Ha
In the end, Kisekki cursed and had no choice but to invite Yewoo Beomjeol.
(Guild) KongKang: Awoooollll!!! dㅇㅅㅇb
(Guild) ^Card^: Invitation LOLOLOLOLOL
(Guild) Jinhee: LOL okay, I’ll send a join request
Immediately, as if they’d been waiting, the guildmates sent party requests.
(Guild) KongKang: ㅇ.<
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: >.ㅇ
(Guild) Jinhee: >.<
The six-man party for Wilt Rose, which had been impossible to assemble earlier, came together in seconds.
(Mage) Jinhee: LOLOLOLOLOLOL
(Alchemist) KongKang: Hihihihihi lolololololol
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
(Dual Cannon) WhiteKimchi: Another win for Yewoo-nim today, congrats;;
Because every guildmate insisted on going with Yewoo Beomjeol, Kisekki had no choice.
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: Meow
(Necromancer) Kisekki: You all talk too damn much
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: Meow meow meow meow
(Necromancer) Kisekki: What the hell are you doing???
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: Meooow ow???
(Necromancer) Kisekki: lol f* off
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: lol meow off
(Mage) Jinhee: LOL now he’s being treated like a cat lololol
(Mage) Jinhee: But fr, Kisekki-nim does kinda have cat vibes, which pisses me off lmaooo
(Dual Cannon) WhiteKimchi: gasp; Right;; but not really a cat… hmm what would fit…
(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: A wild cat?
(Necromancer) Kisekki: You freaking bastard.
(Mage) Jinhee: LOLOLOLOLOL
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: LMAO he went full Rambo again hahaha.
(Alchemist) KongKang: 😭 I’m chrying from laughing too hard, please sthop 😭
He was visibly irritated as always, but in the end, he still had to raid with Yewoo Beomjeol that day. Of course, the raid itself was no exception.
(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: My apologies.
(Necromancer) Kisekki: lol// you’re not even sorry, don’t apologize
(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: My apo.. ah.
As always, Kisekki lashed out at Yewoo Beomjeol.
(Necromancer) Kisekki: ?
(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: I’ll correct it.
(Necromancer) Kisekki: You…
Yewoo Beomjeol calmly and quietly turned Kisekki’s insides upside down.
“Ah, seriously…”
Amid the noisy hum of the PC café, a low voice murmured. The screen flashed with dazzling effects, almost bursting from the monitor. In front of it sat a man with his hood pulled up. Beneath the hair so dark it seemed to shimmer blue, his long eyes curved gently. They were calm and composed eyes—orderly, yet serene.
“This is so much fun.”
Ye Woo-won burst into laughter again, then absently brushed his fingertips over the corner of his mouth. These days, he found himself smiling so often that the upward curve of his lips no longer felt unfamiliar.
‘Has it been about a month?’
He realized it had already been nearly a month since he started following Kisekki around.
‘It’s the first time I’ve ever ignored everything else just to play a game.’
He had been completely absorbed, not even making plans with friends lately. Of course, he hadn’t meant to dive in this deep at first. He had just wanted to kill time, but meeting Kisekki and joining his guild changed everything.
‘Guess I’ll just keep tagging along to every raid Kisekki joins.’
It also helped that he’d set himself a new goal—to follow Kisekki around for the sake of a smoother guild life. Half out of a desire to get used to Kisekki’s reactions, and half out of a wish to grow closer to him, he’d started playing alongside him—and before he knew it, a month had passed.
Of course, building a rapport with Kisekki hadn’t been easy. Ye Woo-won paused, recalling Kisekki’s words and behavior.
(Necromancer) Kisekki: Are Dragon Knight’s eyes made of muscle, too? No wonder you couldn’t block that one right in front of you. Tsk. Tsk.
(Necromancer) Kisekki: I died ‘cause you suck.
If anything went wrong during a raid, Kisekki always blamed Ye Woo-won first—and even when Ye Woo-won made no mistakes, he’d still find something to nag about.
(Whisper) HouseParty: Are you all right?
Each time, whispers flooded in, and Ye Woo-won hurried to reply that he was fine.
Even when he reassured them, the guildmates kept worrying. The guild master, no.10, couldn’t say it outright, but always lingered around Ye Woo-won’s spot in the guild territory.
‘Just this much is fine, really.’
But Ye Woo-won truly was fine. He wasn’t just saying it to be polite.
He simply found Kisekki’s typing speed—spitting out scolding words while moving so fluidly—remarkable. Days turned into weeks, and soon, a month had passed.
‘He talks less now. Kind of a shame, actually.’
Up to that point, nothing had changed between them. Even now, it was still the same.
Apparently displeased about having to raid with Ye Woo-won again, Kisekki was taking out his anger on the boss. Without pausing to breathe, he kept hammering damage into Wilt Rose so hard that the boss seemed to glitch out. Before it could even rage properly, the raid was over.
(Dual Cannon) WhiteKimchi: LOL that damage was so damn fast
It was the first time the boss ever looked pitiful. The rare sight had everyone bursting into laughter.
(Alchemist) KongKang: Huh, it’s over already ㅇㅅㅠ[2]
‘That was the fastest clear ever.’
Ye Woo-won widened his eyes in surprise. Sure enough, a system message popped up announcing the record and contribution stats. The party window exploded in reaction upon seeing the report.
(Assassin) Nyamnyangi: GG LOL first time I’ve ever pitied that savage boss hahaha
(Dual Cannon) WhiteKimchi: gasp; who messed with Rose’s head to do petal fortune-telling or something 😭😭😭😭 what did you do to make the poor thing go bald all of a sudden…
(Mage) Jinhee: oh no. Got carried lol thanks for the bus
(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: Thank you all for your efforts.
Without a healer, it had been a full DPS party of six. For Kisekki alone to claim 57% of total damage meant he hadn’t stopped attacking even once. Ye Woo-won watched him charge toward the boss’s corpse to collect loot.
Normally, he’d make a snide comment or two, but this time, he seemed eager to leave. Ye Woo-won also approached Wilt Rose to claim his reward, casually striking up a few words as he did so.
At that, Kisekki froze mid-motion. Then, seeing Yewoo Beomjeol standing close beside him—
Kisekki has left the party. The party leader role was transferred to Jinhee.
‘He left?’
Ye Woo-won hadn’t expected him to suddenly quit the party and even leave the raid. As he tilted his head in confusion, Jinhee trotted over to stand beside Yewoo Beomjeol’s character and spoke.
Jinhee gestured at something in disbelief.
There it was—one lonely box left behind.
TL’s Note:
[1] OTT means “over-the-top,” a term for streaming media content, like TV shows and movies, delivered directly to viewers over the internet instead of through traditional cable or satellite providers. For example like Netflix, Disney Hotstar, WeTV, etc.
They are literally treating the interaction between Kisekki and Yewoo Beomjeol like paid content. WhiteKimchi basically said he is paying his subscription by helping Yewoo Beomjeol achieve his goal to raid with Kisekki (a.k.a helping him bully Kisekki LOL). And Jinhee means that if she doesn’t pay it like this, she can’t afford to pay the subscription in another way.
[2] Emoji like ㅇㅅㅇ, ㅇㅅㅠ, dㅇㅅㅇb, ㅇ.<, >.ㅇ, >.< should be quite clear, right? It’s basically just eyes, nose, winks, and sometimes thumbs up. For this one: ㅇㅅㅠ imagine that he shed tears only from his right eye.
