KYB Ch 49
by LuluThis won’t do. If he leave this alone, it feels like he’ll cross a river of no return. In the end, Ye Woo-won had no choice but to clear things up quickly.
“Actually, I’ve received a lot of help from Kisekki, so I was going to propose marriage to give him top-tier fishing and gathering boosts. Because if we get married, experience gets shared…”
(Guild) Nyamnyangi: lol I don’t buy it
(Guild) LifeIsSolo: heh just call it love heh it’s fine heh
“My fishing level is maxed out, and my gathering is almost maxed too.”
(Guild) ITrustCactus: I’m fine even if it’s being a concubine too
(Guild) ^Card^: ?what a line
(Guild) ^Card^: I’m already the concubine
(Guild) KongKang: Master!! >ㅅ<
(Guild) KongKang: Don’t you keep pets? kyukyukya? ㅇㅅ<
Ye Woo-won smiled quietly at how the chat’s tone shifted in an instant. No wonder — that was the natural reaction.
‘Considering how hard it is to hit max fishing level.’
Before he quit playing, he had practically devoted his life to fishing and gathering without rest. As a result, the Yewoo Beomjeol character had both gathering and fishing at max or near-max levels.
Of course, it wasn’t easy. Most people who reached such high levels ran paid parties and carries to fish and gather for others.
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: he rejected that?!?!? Rejected that!?!?!!
(Guild) KongKang: ㅇㅅㅇtut~~ kids these days don’t know how rare fishing is!! Well, what they know when all they did is just burn money!
(Guild) Nyamnyangi: You spend a lot of money too though
(Guild) KongKang: shhㅋㅅㅋ
Kisekki obviously had no connection to fishing and gathering; those words meant nothing to him.
Why dislike it? If he married him, his level would climb by tens just by being near Ye Woo-won.
‘Still, he didn’t press the reject button yet.’
Ye Woo-won thought of the ring that hadn’t been returned and furrowed his brows. Kisekki’d only been flustered by the proposal and apparently hadn’t pressed ‘reject’.
Of course, he planned to resend it even if it was rejected.
“Shall we go now?”
That was enough of a break. Ye Woo-won looked briefly toward HealingJjimo, and the healer who’d been giggling just moments ago nodded seriously in chat.
(Guild) Jinhee: Oh where are you two going???
(Guild) HealingJjimo: I was going to finish the Loveron try with Yewoo-nim…!
(Guild) Jinhee: Hmm…. that’s good too… would you not like to come with us?
What are they talking about? As he wondered, Jinhee continued.
(Guild) Jinhee: It’s the perfect time right now…!
Mega Cooperative Raid.
In God of Water Veil, there’s a mega cooperative raid that you can participate in at a designated time once a week. It literally brings together many parties to raid.
Four people form a party and go into a wormhole that doesn’t appear on the map, fight, and later the four parties—16 people total—gather to fight the final boss in the cooperative raid.
It takes a long time, but the rewards are great and it’s fun, so participation rates are generally high.
(Guild) KongKang: We are two people short then ㅇㅅㅇ?
But the number of guild members currently online was 14, which made it awkward. If everyone joined, two more people would still need to be matched separately to make full teams.
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: Ah.. that’s kind of a bummer… sigh
(Guild) Jinhee: Hmm 😭 that’s risky
When the option of matching came up for the Mega Cooperative Raid, people’s reactions were never good. Of course, one might say, “It’s an RPG where you have to play with others anyway, so what’s the big deal about party matching?”
However, the Mega Cooperative Raid was the exception. Despite being called a cooperative raid, it was actually a raid where individual play tended to stand out.
It’s because of “contribution.” In the cooperative raid, each party member’s contribution is tracked during the raid, and rewards depend on that contribution.
(Guild) Jinhee: Right 😭😭 there are so many weird players…
(Guild) DPSdrop: I admit I love dealing damage, but those guys are on another level lol. If they die and beg to be saved and then die again after we save them, they still get the biggest share of contribution lol gross ugh
If you matched in a public party and got stuck with people who only cared about maximizing contribution, you could have a rough time.
‘Then maybe next time.’
Who would want to go with strangers? Anyway, Ye Woo-won had been planning to stay for the Loveron Try, so it didn’t matter to him.
“Then HealingJjimo-nim and I will—”
As Ye Woo-won was about to say they’d finish the Loveron try, he noticed HealingJjimo’s character sparkling with excitement.
(Guild) Jinhee: Of course!!
(Guild) Jinhee: You don’t have to be good at it! Everyone will take care of you!
(Guild) HealingJjimo: Really…??
As expected, HealingJjimo seemed thrilled at the idea of going somewhere new together.
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
He planned to go to the Loveron try now and next time, when more guild members logged in, go to the mega raid together. But since HealingJjimo was so eager, it made sense to go there first. Team arrangement was the only issue.
(Guild) KongKang: Healers should go in full-party with acquaintances if possible ㅇ.ㅇ
(Guild) LeaveTheHealToMeButIDon’tRememberGuildmate: Right
(Guild) LeaveTheHealToMeButIDon’tRememberGuildmate: This game sucks for healers who aren’t given consideration lol
KongKang wasn’t wrong. Healers do build contribution by buffing teammates, but it’s small.
So teammates have to cover contribution for healers, which is why healers often go with people they know. Friends might let them take the finishing blow to boost contribution, or deliberately let their HP drop to be healed for contribution.
‘So usually healers match with DPS setups, but HealingJjimo-nim is a novice, so it’s better for him to go with guild members.’
Especially since the mega cooperative raid forces random party matching, it’s even more uncomfortable for healers to go with strangers.
(Guild) ^Card^: kekek I’ve got the authority for that from before
(Guild) ^Card^: I’ll do it. Guild master, is it okay?
(Guild) no.10: Yep! 😭
(Guild) WhiteKimchi: Then let’s go lololol
(Guild) KongKang: ㅇㅅㅇㄱ
(Guild) ^Card^: Are Yewoo-nim and Kisekki going too? I’ll add you for now
Ladder draw? How does that work? As he wondered whether it was even possible in-game, a chime sounded and a window popped up.
It seemed like everyone already knew what to do…
Ye Woo-won hesitated, pressed Y, and the ladder graphic unfolded with ornate effects. Twelve little animal slots sat at the top.
‘…oh, only the chick’s left.’
While he debated, the other animals grayed out as if chosen. When he selected the last animal, the ladder draw began.
‘Party 4?’
His chick landed in Party 4. And…..
Then the results window popped up.
WhiteKimchi, KongKang, ITrustCactus, HealingJjimo
LifeIsSolo, no.10, ^Card^, LeaveTheHealToMeButIDon’tRemember
Nyamnyangi, HouseParty, DPSdrop, Jinhee
So far, so good. Healers ended up in parties correctly, and Party 3, though four DPS, was balanced by HouseParty’s Moonlight buffer DPS.
Kisekki, Yewoo Beomjeol
The last team was the problem. Ye Woo-won’s eyes widened in surprise as chat lit up.
