The reason Yu-young felt so familiar with the people loitering in front of his house was that they were the personal bodyguards his father had hired. The men, dressed in well-tailored suits even on a holiday, had caught Yu-young a few times before and dragged him to his father.

Yu-young knew exactly what was going to happen next. But even though he knew, there was no way to avoid this frustrating reality.

“Excuse me, but we need you to come with us to see the president.”

“Go to hell! You crazy—do you know this is a crime?! Let go! Let go of me!”

“We’re sorry. We’re just doing our job. Mr. Kim, hold him tight.”

The men skillfully approached and grabbed Yu-young on both sides. Not knowing where he was being taken, or what would happen next, Yu-young screamed and struggled, but it was useless. His struggles were nothing more than a nuisance to the professional bodyguards.

Despite his will, Yu-young was dragged back down to the underground parking lot.

“How did you even get in here? This place only works with biometric recognition!”

    “…”

Since there was no answer, Yu-young assumed they must have used some shady methods. After all, if his dad had hired send them kidnap him, they would have anticipated this situation.

Yu-young cursed at the men, begged, and screamed, but soon enough, the door of a large van opened, and he was forced inside.

“No, seriously, stop messing around! Let me go!”

“This isn’t a joke. Do you want to keep going through this every time?”

The bodyguard’s tired voice made Yu-young give up and close his mouth. After all, asking them to let go wouldn’t make them say, “Sure, we’ll let you go.”

Hadn’t he been kidnapped by the same security team three or four times already? Every time, he made a fuss just like this, but in the end, he was always dragged to the place his father had arranged.

Furious, Yu-young slapped his arms away. Since they had already dragged him into the van and started it, they didn’t make any further efforts to subdue him. Yu-young roughly pulled out his phone and called his father. The phone connected before it even rang twice.

“Dad, what the hell is going on?!”

“Shut up! Stop complaining and come quietly.”

    “Dad!”

“Don’t even think about causing trouble or embarrassing me. If you do, your career at the company is over!”

The call ended with his father’s cold voice, and Yu-young, stunned and speechless, stared at the disconnected phone in disbelief. Who am I supposed to be angry at right now…?

For a while, he was quiet, and Yu-young couldn’t understand why his father suddenly went off the rails and arranged this ‘date’. Weren’t they supposed to have tacitly agreed to leave things as they were last time?

Thinking this, Yu-young sighed and pressed his aching head. His father must have been planning this for weeks, or even months. Coordinating schedules among busy children from wealthy families wasn’t easy, so it was no surprise that they needed advance notice.

No wonder his father had been so agreeable when Yu-young went to the family home last time—he’d probably been plotting this grand scheme all along.

Now that he thought about it, his father had sometimes arranged these forced dates even when Yu-young was doing well in his work, saying things like, If you meet enough people, you’ll naturally meet someone who draws you in, even if they’re not your soulmate.

Could anyone else be living a life like mine? Just trying to live a normal company life, getting kidnapped occasionally, and the kidnapper is your own father…

Yu-young, resigned, looked out the window, feeling dejected. When he was driving home after finishing his workout, he’d felt great, but now even the shining sunlight seemed frustrating. He wished it would start hailing so hard that he couldn’t see anything—just so this could be canceled.

The car, speeding along, stopped in front of a familiar salon. Without Yu-young needing to get out, the stylist, who had been waiting in front of the shop, climbed into the car. The stylist greeted him with a bright smile.

    “Hello, Yu-young! It’s been a while!”

“Yeah… hello,” Yu-young mumbled with a downcast face, but the stylist didn’t mind and grabbed his hand, shaking it. After all, she had seen him in this miserable state many times before and was used to it.

“Why aren’t you doing it at the shop today…?”

“Ah, today, the president asked for it to be done quickly, so I decided to do it while driving.”

    “Ah… I see.”

It was absurd that someone else knew his schedule better than he did, but Yu-young didn’t even have the energy to be angry anymore. Resigned, he sat quietly in the shaking car, letting the stylist take care of his face and hair. The stylist, who had experience working with celebrities, was quick and efficient in styling him in the car.

“All done. As usual, your skin is great, so there’s not much to do with your face.”

    “Yeah…”

“What about your hair? It would have been better if you’d come dressed, though… It’ll probably get a little messy when you change.”

    “sigh… I’m not a celebrity or anything… It’s fine.”

Yu-young looked at his reflection in the mirror—perfectly styled hair, light makeup, and wearing workout clothes. He couldn’t help but let out a dry laugh. What a way to spend a weekend—dragged out of his house, looking like this.

The car sped on until it stopped in front of a hotel. As valet attendants came up to take the car, the bodyguard driving glanced back and spoke.

    “We’ve arrived. Let’s get out.”

    “I don’t want to.”

“It’d be better if you got out voluntarily before we pull you out.”

Yu-young weakly protested, but the response was cold and unyielding. He shot an angry glare at the bodyguards, muttering insults under his breath, before getting out of the car.

Well, these people are just doing what they’re told… Even though it was a bit pitiful that they were working on the weekend, from Yu-young’s perspective, it was hard to like them. They had been hired by his father, who had no qualms about sending them to do things like this, and had been so disrespectful for years.

Sighing, Yu-young took the bag they handed him. He didn’t even need to look to know that it contained the clothes for today’s date, and his phone would likely have the personal details of the person his father had arranged for him to meet today.

Should I run? Yu-young glanced sideways, looking for any openings, but as if waiting for this, the bodyguard sneered.

“You won’t be going anywhere. If you try to run, we’ve been told to use force to bring you back.”

“Ugh, I’m not going! This is so unfair and disgusting.”

Feeling a twinge of guilt, Yu-young raised his voice for no reason and glared at the bodyguard. But whether he glared or shouted, the bodyguard’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. He simply stood close beside Yu-young—along with two others.

That made three fully grown men sticking to him.

It was over. There was no way he could escape. If he made a scene here, right where he stood, the date would fall through, and his company life would be over… He followed the men into the hotel with a heavy heart.

After the bodyguard checked in and placed the card key on the pad, the elevator started moving. Until they reached the room, the bodyguards stayed right by Yu-young’s side.

“Change quickly and come out. If you don’t come out in five minutes, we’ll come in.”

“Alright, I got it, just get out!”

Yu-young shouted at the top of his lungs, driving the bodyguards out of the room.

Ha… Letting out a long sigh, he began changing his clothes. There was no other way. Jumping out the window wasn’t an option either. Trying to avoid one problem only to end up following the Grim Reaper wasn’t something he wanted.

Once Yu-young had changed, he looked at himself in the mirror with the expression of someone being led to the slaughter. It wasn’t by choice, but he did look polished. Still, his face reflected the despair of a lost soul.

With slumped shoulders, Yu-young stepped out of the room. The bodyguards, who had been standing guard by the door, followed him immediately. No matter, Yu-young thought, resigned. He walked slowly into the lobby and sat on a sofa, the bodyguards sticking to him like glue.

Yu-young glared at them and yelled.

“Can you please move over? I’m not running away!”

    “That’s not possible.”

The head bodyguard, sitting right next to him, sneered again, getting even closer. It seemed like he was having fun with Yu-young’s reactions.

Yu-young glared at the chief bodyguard. This man had always been like this.

Despite not being an Alpha, he constantly looked down on Yu-young, an Omega, and tried to keep him in check. Just because he had his father’s trust, he acted rudely and overstepped boundaries. Yu-young had found him uncomfortable and detestable for a long time.

He didn’t even want to speak anymore. He decided to move across and sit elsewhere.

But the moment Yu-young stood up, the bodyguard grabbed his wrist, his rough hand tightening around it.

    “Let go.”

Yu-young glared at him, but the bodyguard didn’t care and kept smiling smugly.

“I told you, it’s not possible.”

“I didn’t say I was going anywhere! I just don’t want to sit next to you. Let go of my wrist.”

“Then I’ll sit with you over there.”

    “No!”

Yu-young was about to shout when, suddenly, the hand that had been gripping his wrist loosened. At the same time, the chief bodyguard’s expression twisted in a frown.

“What… What the hell? Who are you?” The familiar scent brushed Yu-young’s nose.

    “This person is my colleague.”

The person in front of him, gripping the chief bodyguard’s wrist with a fierce expression, was, unbelievably, Team Leader Choi Do-won.
