    Chapter 36: Honeymoon Trip

After the wedding, they were granted official marital leave. Sade was thrilled as he planned their honeymoon, eagerly thinking about where to take his beloved.

After settling Mimi in at the Starlight Manor, they set off for their destination—a small affiliated planet of the Empire called Ice Tungsten Star[1]. The interstellar flight aboard a large ship took six hours.

Ice Tungsten Star was small, sparsely populated, and lacked significant energy resources. However, what it was known for was its unique natural scenery. It had vast, permanently frozen glaciers alongside frequently erupting volcanoes—this rare coexistence of opposites earned the planet the nickname: “The World Where Ice and Fire Dance.”

There was also a little-known secret that circulated only among the nobility: the planet’s atmosphere contained a high concentration of tungsten elements, which could enhance mental power resonance and meditation training. As a result, many imperial nobles had purchased properties there to retreat and cultivate their mental strength.

Lady Resa’s maternal family owned a vacation cabin on the planet. Due to the labor shortage, most of the buildings there were small and delicately built, resembling toy houses. Instead of luxurious decoration, functionality was the main focus.

Sade had loved visiting the planet since he was a child, and as an adult, he occasionally came here for vacations or closed-door training. He was quite familiar with it. But once, during a chat with Lin You, he was surprised to learn that Lin You had never been there before. That realization made Sade feel guilty—how could he be such a negligent fiancé and never think of bringing Lin You to a place so special to him?

So, on the spot, he decided—their honeymoon destination would be Ice Tungsten Star.

Because of the planet’s size, gasoline-powered vehicles were the main mode of transportation. On the Empire’s main star, such vehicles were mostly used in farming or construction, having long since become outdated.

Lin You, having spent almost his entire life in the temple and rarely stepping outside, naturally had never had the chance to ride in a car. He found it novel and fascinating.

“You can drive? That’s amazing!” Lin You said, his eyes sparkling with curiosity as he climbed into the red off-road vehicle Sade had driven up. He eagerly explored the car’s retro interior.

“I got my license as soon as I became an adult. I can also drive boats and fly aircraft. My father could too—he used to say you never know what kind of situation you’ll end up in, and that opportunities favor those who are prepared. So I learned how to operate all sorts of transportation, whatever I could get my hands on.”

Although Sade spoke with a calm tone, his expression betrayed his pride—it was easy to see how pleased he was with himself. After all, what Alpha wouldn’t want to show off a bit in front of his Omega?

“Even though you’re a young master, I think you’re incredible,” Lin You said sincerely. “You’re the kind of person who could survive anywhere, no matter the situation.”

“You could too, Yuyou. You’re incredibly capable—it’s just that you lack experience. But there’s one thing about you… that’s a bit dangerous. In a crisis, it could become a weakness.”

Sade continued driving with ease, one hand resting on the window as he chatted with Lin You.

“Weakness? What is it?” Lin You asked attentively, eager to improve. If there was anything lacking in him, he wanted to fix it.

“This…” Sade lifted a strand of Lin You’s beautiful long hair, sniffed it, and then gave it a loud exaggerated mwah kiss. “It’s way too inconvenient.”

Suddenly being teased, Lin You’s face flushed red. “Mn… I’ll remember your suggestion,” he mumbled shyly.

“Hey, I was just joking. Isn’t your long hair really important? I like it too, so don’t go doing anything drastic,” Sade chuckled, speaking casually. Ever since arriving on Ice Tungsten Star, his mood had relaxed. Driving Lin You around like this felt wonderful—pure, heartfelt joy.

As they drove leisurely along the winding road, the two of them chatted idly and admired the view outside. Unlike the bustling Capital Star[2], the scenery here was wild and natural: verdant hills topped with caps of white snow, like hats sitting atop mountains. The stunning landscape never lost its charm no matter how long one looked at it.

After about an hour of driving, they finally arrived at a vacation cottage. It was a small two-story yellow house with a pointed tower roof. The entrance hall was tall and open, reaching two floors high. One wall was designated for hanging thick coats, and the other side featured a shoe rack with a bench and racks for shoe brushes, horns, and other accessories. The first floor had a compact yet fully equipped kitchen, a simple dining table, and a cozy living room. The second floor was a mezzanine-style open bedroom with a bathroom that included a tub and separate dry-wet areas.

Lin You immediately liked it. The place was quaint and adorable—and just the right size for two people. There were no servants to help with cleaning or chores here, so everything had to be done by themselves. Had Sade picked a large house instead, keeping it tidy would’ve been exhausting!

After checking out the house and taking a short break, Sade pulled Lin You back out again. He planned for them to grab dinner first, then visit the local marketplace for supplies.

“There are too few people here, and development is restricted to avoid damaging the natural scenery, so… how should I say it? Basically, you have to do everything yourself. If you want to go somewhere, you drive or walk. If you need something, you go buy it yourself. Except for a few farming households that grow their own vegetables and fruit in their yards, most people shop for ingredients and cook at home. Only when they’re feeling lazy do they eat out. As for chores like cleaning, doing laundry, and all that… all on your own.”

Listening to Sade’s explanations, Lin You, new to this environment, actually found it refreshing. Life in the Empire was far too convenient—many people never had to do things with their own hands, always relying on technology to solve problems. Here, though, they had no choice but to do everything manually, and that, he felt, was actually a good thing.

“Yeah, I think it’s nice too,” Lin You agreed. He had always believed in the ‘do-it-yourself’ approach. “Then, let’s stock up on some nutritional supplements—just in case we get hungry.”

Ever practical, Lin You wanted to be prepared with something easy to eat on hand.

“Why that again?” Sade laughed. “You’re underestimating your husband. If you’re hungry, just tell me—I’ll cook for you.”

The two of them picked a cozy-looking local restaurant, had a satisfying meal, and then went shopping for a few days’ worth of groceries and some fun-looking snacks to take back home. Sade handled most of the chores, while Lin You trailed after him like a little assistant.

Their first day on Ice Tungsten Star passed just like that—lighthearted and joyful.

    Footnotes:

    1. Ice Tungsten Star: The name is composed of “冰” (ice) and “鎢” (tungsten). Ice refers to the planet’s vast glacial landscapes, while tungsten—a dense and durable metal—symbolizes the intense geothermal activity such as volcanoes. This duality reflects the planet’s famous natural wonder: the coexistence of ice fields and active volcanoes, earning it the nickname “the world where ice and fire dance together.” In-universe, it’s also said that the atmosphere is rich in tungsten elements, which aids in mental power resonance and meditation, making it a favored retreat for nobles and cultivators alike.
    2. Capital Star: In this universe, the term “star” refers not to actual stars but to planets or inhabited celestial bodies governed by the Empire. Examples include the Capital Star, which serves as the political center, and the Ice Tungsten Star, a small resort planet under imperial control. This naming convention is common in interstellar empires and sci-fi settings, where star systems are composed of multiple such "stars" or planetary bodies.
