Chapter 5: Leave It to Me

The temple was extremely efficient. By the afternoon, Lin You received a detailed training schedule. Unsurprisingly, he and Feng Qing were assigned to the same dorm room and would be training alongside S-class and A-class Alphas and Omegas.

The temple required them to report the next day, with training beginning as early as the day after. So Lin You immediately began packing, though he couldn’t help but feel troubled while doing it.

“Mimi, are you going to stay at Feng Qing’s big house? But what am I going to do being apart from you for so long?” Lin You stroked the spoiled little princess rubbing against his legs, speaking with a worried tone.

Perhaps he had poured all of his emotions into this cat. He had always been alone. Raised in the temple, where most of the students and priests came from wealthy families, he—an abandoned child—was a rare exception.

Although the High Priest had taken him in, apart from training his spiritual power, she hadn’t cared much for his daily life. Lin You had never received extra attention growing up—only isolation and gossip. He had learned to protect himself quickly. Life was harsh until the day he differentiated as an S-class Omega—only then did things improve.

After he became a priest and his life stabilized, he found Mimi. All the love and care he had missed as a child, he gave entirely to this mixed-breed kitten.

So even though Lin You subsisted on the cheapest nutrient solution, Mimi lived like royalty—eating balanced, high-quality food, a variety of snacks, and sleeping in a cozy cat bed.

When he finished packing, half the suitcase was filled with Mimi’s things. Yet, he still hadn’t figured out how to arrange for her care.

He sighed. There’s no other way. I’ll just ask him… I hope he won’t find it annoying. Lin You picked up his optical terminal and sent a message to Sade.

“Sade, sorry to bother you. Due to the joint training between the temple and the academy, I’ll be staying in the academy dormitory for three months. I’m raising a cat, but my roommate can’t live with one. Since you’re more familiar with the academy, I wanted to ask for your advice—if there’s a way I can manage this.”

Lin You ended up listening to Feng Qing’s suggestion and messaged Sade. Though he felt like he was just pushing the problem onto Sade, he knew Sade was more than capable of handling it.

He thought of Sade’s usual gentleness, his deeply affectionate eyes, bright like the sun, and the way he panted against him in the heat of passion… Lin You quickly shook his head, trying to snap himself out of it. Chasing after the sun too carelessly will only get you burned to ashes.

“Sure, don’t worry, I’ll take care of it. Just bring the cat with you. Yuyou^[1], if anything comes up, you can always ask me directly.”

Sade’s reply came quickly. After reading it, Lin You’s face flushed slightly. Yuyou?! Was this some strange joke of Sade’s? Still, just as expected, Sade had agreed to take care of everything. Lin You finally felt at ease.

“Mimi, you’re really living a good life. Someone like Sade is arranging a place for you to stay…” he murmured while watching Mimi sleep peacefully on the bed.

Sade was quite surprised to suddenly get a message from Lin You. Thinking back, this was the first time Lin You had ever asked him for help. That alone made Sade unexpectedly excited—it reminded him of how nervous he’d felt the first time he met an Omega.

The request itself wasn’t difficult—Lin You simply didn’t know much about the academy. In reality, the S-class and A-class Alphas and Omegas all lived in the same dorm building, but each room was equipped with a barrier system to isolate spiritual power and pheromones. So even though they lived under one roof, it was perfectly safe.

Additionally, the dormitory included several single isolation rooms, designed specifically to shield individuals during unstable periods—such as heat or sensitivity spikes—regardless of whether they were Alpha or Omega.

Sade used the excuse that Lin You was an S-class Omega with exceptionally strong spiritual power—prone to instability or affecting others—as the reason to apply for a private dorm room on his behalf. Regardless of the justification, the academy was still willing to give face to Sade, a member of the royal family. What’s more, Lin You wasn’t just Sade’s fiancé, but also a high-ranking S-class Omega temporarily lent from the temple. It was only for three months, so naturally, the administrative office didn’t object. Sade’s application was approved immediately.

And there was another small detail—one of Sade’s personal little schemes: he specifically arranged for Lin You’s single room to be right next to his own dorm room. Whether it was to “drop by” or to “take care of him,” with Lin You next door, it would be convenient. Sade could finally interact with him more and cultivate their relationship.

He sent Lin You a message:

“It’s been approved. You’ll be staying in a single room.”

“Thank you,” Lin You replied immediately.

“How are you coming tomorrow?” Sade asked.

“By public starship,” Lin You responded.

“No need. Bringing a cat on a crowded public starship isn’t ideal. I’ll come pick you up,” Sade offered.

“Wouldn’t that be too much trouble?” Lin You asked.

“Not at all. I’ll come get you,” Sade replied without hesitation.

Lin You thought about it—bringing Mimi onto a cramped public starship really would be uncomfortable for her. In the end, he decided to accept Sade’s help.

“Thank you. I’ll trouble you then.”

“Not a problem. See you tomorrow. Good night.”

Having taken care of everything, Sade was very pleased with himself.

Lin You opened the chat and stared at the conversation for a while, hesitating—should he send a “good night” back as a polite gesture?
