Chapter Index

    Completely… marked…

As someone who had crammed a bunch of biological and health knowledge after arriving in this world, Yan Yuzhou had only recently learned from the internet that, besides biting, there were even deeper ways for lovers to express their affection and needs.

“I… I understand. I won’t have… any little schemes.” Yan Yuzhou spoke with a flushed face, feeling his heart pounding wildly. He pushed away Shen Ci’s embrace and darted into the bathroom.

Shen Ci was left standing outside, staring at the bathroom door, his face filled with amusement.

To be honest, he really wouldn’t mind if this little thing did have some schemes or tricks up his sleeve.

That way, he could justifiably devour him—down to the very last bone.

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, Yan Yuzhou splashed some water on his face and took a deep breath to steady himself. Feeling his gland throbbing uncontrollably, he casually grabbed the suppressant spray from the glass countertop, ready to apply a few spritzes to his gland.

The heat period had clearly passed. If Shen Ci realized that he wanted something, he’d be too embarrassed to face anyone.

Aiming at his gland, he lightly pressed the top of the suppressant bottle. A transparent mist sprayed out, landing directly on his gland, which still bore faint bite marks.

Two seconds later, an intense, burning pain erupted from his gland without warning, forcing Yan Yuzhou to cry out in pain.

    “Mm… it hurts!”

With a clang, the suppressant bottle slipped from his hand, clattering onto the tiled floor and rolling a few times before disappearing into a corner.

Yan Yuzhou could no longer stand. He crouched down, clutching his gland with his hand. He didn’t know why, but it felt like he had been burned by a lighter—it hurt terribly.

The bathroom door was suddenly thrown open from the outside. Clearly, Shen Ci had rushed in the moment he heard Yan Yuzhou cry out in pain. As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Yan Yuzhou crouched with his back facing him, holding his gland.

Shen Ci’s heart clenched violently. He lunged forward, squatting down and pulling Yan Yuzhou into his arms.

“Zhouzhou, what’s wrong? Let me see.” As he spoke, he gently pried Yan Yuzhou’s hand away from his gland.

Then, Shen Ci’s throat tightened as if he had lost the ability to speak. His gaze froze.

The gland looked as if it had been corroded by something—red, swollen beyond recognition, and in one area, blood was slowly beginning to drip down.

    Drop by drop.

    The sight was shocking.

Shen Ci’s heart skipped a beat. His pupils contracted sharply, and his mind buzzed with chaos.

“Mr. Shen, what’s wrong with my gland? Why does it hurt so much?” Yan Yuzhou’s fingers clung tightly to Shen Ci, his grip unusually strong. His pale complexion and trembling voice made it clear—he was in unbearable pain.

“Zhouzhou, you’re bleeding. Don’t panic, I’m taking you to the hospital right now.”

Without hesitation, Shen Ci swept Yan Yuzhou into his arms and rushed out of the villa, getting into the car as quickly as possible.

The driver, Xiao Wang, sped down the road at breakneck speed. Meanwhile, the two people in the backseat were growing more and more anxious.

“Mr. Shen… it hurts… am I going to die?” Yan Yuzhou swore that in his 25 years of life, he had never experienced such excruciating pain. It felt like a knife had been plunged into the back of his neck, as if his very life force was rapidly draining away.

At that moment, lying on Shen Ci’s lap, he felt his consciousness and strength slipping away.

“You won’t, Zhouzhou. Don’t be afraid. I won’t let anything happen to you. We’re almost at the hospital—just hold on a little longer, okay?”

Shen Ci looked down at the person curled up on his lap, clutching tightly at the hem of his shirt. Blood was continuously streaming from his gland in vivid crimson streaks, the sight utterly harrowing.

The person in his arms was drenched in sweat from the pain, his entire body trembling uncontrollably as he instinctively burrowed deeper into Shen Ci’s embrace.

Shen Ci held him even tighter, his heart aching so much it felt like it was going numb.

There was nothing he could do—nothing except let this person collapse in his arms and cry, while he himself remained powerless. His eyes flickered with urgency and distress as he pressed his lips tightly together, allowing the person in his embrace to bite down hard on his arm in unconscious desperation.

Yan Yuzhou’s teeth sank deep into his flesh, but Shen Ci thought—this pain was nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what Yan Yuzhou was enduring.

There was nothing more agonizing than watching the person you love suffer and bleed right before your eyes.

At Anshi Hospital, Fan Qidao had already arranged for doctors and a stretcher to be waiting at the entrance. The moment the car stopped, the door was thrown open. Shen Ci, anxious yet careful, carried Yan Yuzhou out of the car, gently placing him face-down on the stretcher as if handling the most precious thing in the world.

On the way to the emergency room, Yan Yuzhou clung to Shen Ci’s hand, refusing to let go, as if holding onto his last lifeline. His consciousness was already slipping, yet he kept mumbling in a weak, trembling voice.

If one listened closely, it wasn’t hard to make out the words—“Mr. Shen… it hurts…”

It almost brought tears to Shen Ci’s eyes.

And when the doctors and nurses finally took him away, pushing him into the emergency room and shutting Shen Ci out beyond the doors, his body suddenly felt drained of all strength. His legs went weak, and he nearly collapsed right there.

For the first time, he cared so much for an Omega—so much that he wished he could trade his life to take away the pain instead.

The doctors conducted their examination quickly. The injury on Yan Yuzhou’s neck had been caused by a corrosive liquid. While not as potent as sulfuric acid, the substance was still highly destructive—once it made contact with the skin, it was practically disfiguring.

In other words, Yan Yuzhou’s gland had been disfigured.

The moment Shen Ci heard this conclusion, his expression darkened dangerously. He grabbed the doctor by the collar without hesitation, his voice carrying a chill unlike anything he had ever shown before.

“I don’t care what method you use—I want him to be fine. Before he wakes up, you must restore his gland to perfection.”

The doctor trembled under Shen Ci’s overwhelming presence. Even with Fan Qidao standing nearby, he couldn’t do anything to stop him.

Shen Ci only asked one question, over and over—“Can it be repaired? Just give me one answer.”

He seemed domineering and ruthless, but anyone who truly paid attention could hear the trembling and unease in his voice.

He was terrified—terrified that even under his threats, the doctor would still have to regretfully tell him—

“I’m sorry, we did our best.”

That was the one sentence he couldn’t bear to hear.

What scared him even more was the thought of Yan Yuzhou waking up and realizing that his gland had suffered permanent damage. He feared Zhouzhou would spiral into despair, shutting himself away to the point of madness.

Under Shen Ci’s piercing gaze, the doctor finally nodded with a trembling hand. “Mr. Shen, please don’t worry. Your spouse’s condition is treatable.”

At that moment, Shen Ci felt the blood return to his heart.

He loosened his grip on the doctor’s collar and even bowed in apology, his eyes filled with desperation. “Please… I’m counting on you.”

He never wanted to see Zhouzhou cry again.

Because when Zhouzhou cried, it felt like the whole sky was about to collapse.

When Yan Yuzhou woke up, he found himself lying on his stomach. There was still a burning pain at the back of his neck, but compared to when he was first injured, it was much more bearable.

At most, it felt like scraping one’s knee and applying antiseptic—painful but negligible.

Dazed, he slowly sat up on the bed. He instinctively reached behind his neck and carefully touched the area, only to feel a thick layer of gauze covering it. His heart skipped a beat.

    “Don’t move.”

At some point, Shen Ci had appeared at his bedside. He gently took Yan Yuzhou’s hand away from the gauze, leaning in with visible concern to check the wound.

Only after confirming that the injury hadn’t reopened did he quietly let out a sigh of relief.

Shen Ci gazed at Yan Yuzhou’s small, delicate face, which had grown haggard from the pain he had endured. A surge of affection welled up in his heart, and he couldn’t help but reach out to gently caress his cheek.

Unexpectedly, for the first time ever, Yan Yuzhou took the initiative. He leaned into Shen Ci’s palm with quiet obedience and dependence, rubbing his right cheek against it in an intimate gesture.

Then, he tilted his head up, his expression filled with vulnerability.

“Mr. Shen, is my gland ruined? Does this mean… you won’t be able to bite me anymore?”

Yan Yuzhou’s eyes were slightly unfocused, his voice tinged with sorrow.

Shen Ci’s hand stiffened for a moment before his heart softened completely. He stroked Yan Yuzhou’s hair with gentle affection, then leaned in close and asked seriously, “Zhouzhou, do you like it when I bite you?”

Yan Yuzhou averted his gaze, lost in his sadness. A silent tear rolled down his cheek as he whispered, “I do. But…”

Shen Ci let out a soft chuckle. He leaned forward, kissed away Yan Yuzhou’s tear, and wrapped him completely in his embrace with indulgent tenderness.

“No buts. Silly thing, your husband will mark you—and it will be for a lifetime.”
