    Chapter 34

At Daesik’s shameless remark, Heeseong’s face flared up red all over again.

    “L let’s go next time….”

With his head lowered, Heeseong nodded vigorously. Watching Heeseong bury his face in the blanket, Daesik lifted the corner of his lips. He looked like a well fed lion, thoroughly satisfied.

With a smile still on his face, he handed over his clothes and asked,

“Want me to put them on you?”

Heeseong accepted the clothes Daesik brought and hurriedly shook his head from side to side.

    “N no…!”

They had already slept together, but asking him to dress him too was far too embarrassing.

Trying to flee into the room, Heeseong took a step and immediately stepped on the edge of the blanket, staggering. Just as he was about to fall, a solid arm wrapped around his waist.

    “Be careful.”

What was he going to do being this clumsy.

Daesik clicked his tongue inwardly, but he was in a good mood. Pulling Heeseong closer by the waist, he asked casually,

“Are you sure you don’t want me to help you put them on?”

    “Yes, yes…!”

When Heeseong nodded urgently, Daesik suppressed his regret and let him go without protest.

“Then get dressed and come out.”

Swallowing hard, Heeseong hurried into the room and clicked the door shut. Only then did he finally let out a breath. His heart was pounding so loudly that he felt completely flustered.

Noticing Heeseong locking the door, Daesik let out a short laugh. Whether it was an act or not, that clueless and dense Heeseong still had at least some sense of caution. That was a relief.

Without knowing exactly what he was relieved about, Daesik found himself feeling inexplicably satisfied.

Inside the room, as Heeseong slipped his arms into the clothes, his face burned red. Daesik’s scent wafted strongly from the shirt. A cool, refreshing fragrance like a deep forest strangely tickled his nose.

    “The boss’s smell….”

For some reason, saliva gathered in his mouth and his lower abdomen felt faintly ticklish. His spine tingled. After putting on the shirt, Heeseong smoothed the hem with his fingers, then lifted his arm slightly and sniffed again.

His heart thudded wildly. The pheromones he had smelled before usually made his nose sting and his stomach churn, but the boss’s scent was different.

    It was strange.

Swallowing, Heeseong shook his head firmly, trying to clear his thoughts. Get a grip.

I cannot cause any more trouble for the boss.

Making up his mind, Heeseong was about to head out when he paused and rolled his eyes. He wanted to check whether wearing the boss’s clothes looked strange. Hesitantly, he went into the bathroom at the corner of the room and stood in front of the full length mirror.

Then his face went pale. Wearing the boss’s oversized clothes already looked ridiculous enough, but only then did he realize that he had no pants.

In the living room, Daesik rested his chin on his hand and watched the door, waiting for Heeseong to come out. For someone just putting on clothes, he was taking quite a while. Just as Daesik considered going in to drag him out, the door slowly opened and Heeseong peeked his face out.

    “Boss….”

    “Done getting dressed?”

“…Yes. Um, but I don’t have any pants.”

So that was why he had been stalling.

He must have only just realized. Not knowing that Daesik had not given him any on purpose, he had fled inside. Daesik wondered how he would come out and saw that Heeseong had clearly agonized over it for a long time. Cute.

Watching Heeseong fidget, Daesik lifted the corner of his lips.

    “Really?”

When he asked casually, Heeseong muttered hesitantly,

“Yes…. Please give me some pants and underwear.”

    “Come out first.”

    “That’s kind of….”

    “Why.”

Pretending not to know, Daesik strode over and grabbed the door. Heeseong sucked in a sharp breath. His wide, rabbit like eyes were full of panic.

Heeseong tried to hold the door shut with all his strength, but when Daesik pulled it open, Heeseong himself staggered forward instead.

Embarrassed by his legs being fully exposed, Heeseong awkwardly bent forward. Watching him at a loss, Daesik raised an eyebrow.

His oversized shirt barely covered Heeseong’s crotch. The smooth, exposed legs were a nice sight.

His face red like a tomato, Heeseong hurriedly pulled the blanket over to cover his legs. But before he could, Daesik snatched the blanket away.

    “Why cover up. They’re pretty.”

    “…This is embarrassing….”

Flustered, Heeseong twisted his face and bit down on his lip. Under Daesik’s gaze, it felt like his skin was burning.

    “What is.”

Daesik asked even though he clearly knew. Only Heeseong was left fidgeting.

    “I’m embarrassed.”

Seeing Heeseong about to crouch down, Daesik wiped the smile from his lips and grabbed his arm.

“Alright. I’ll give you pants, so wait.”

    “Thank you.”

Heeseong bowed deeply, then dragged the blanket back over to cover his legs. Watching him do that as he left the room, Daesik let out a quiet laugh. In truth, he had never intended to give Heeseong pants in the first place. There were none that would fit anyway.

Completely unaware of Daesik’s intentions, Heeseong waited innocently. A moment later, Daesik returned and simply shrugged at him.

“What should I do. There aren’t any pants.”

    “…What?”

When Heeseong froze, unable to respond, Daesik added,

“Why don’t you check for yourself.”

At the suggestion, Heeseong hesitantly followed him.

Daesik showed him his pants, and as he said, none of them fit. Heeseong’s shoulders drooped.

The hems dragged on the floor, and the waists were big enough to fit a fist inside. When Heeseong asked if there was a belt, Daesik only shook his head.

“For now, just wear it like this.”

In the end, Heeseong was left wearing only a T shirt and underwear. He awkwardly shifted his clearly exposed legs and pressed his lips together. He felt so embarrassed he wanted to hide somewhere.

Unlike him, Daesik was completely calm. He did not stare strangely at his legs or frown. He simply looked at his tablet as if it did not matter.

Having often been cursed at or hit for the slightest thing, Heeseong found this silence, this lack of criticism, unfamiliar.

When Daesik left him alone and did not even glance at his legs, Heeseong gradually relaxed. His tense, hunched body loosened, and he stopped fidgeting his toes for no reason.

Noticing Heeseong’s guard slowly coming down, Daesik smiled faintly. Without looking up from his tablet, he asked,

“What did you do when you rested?”

    “…I’m not sure.”

At the question, Heeseong blinked for a moment, then answered slowly. From the moment he woke up until he went to sleep, he had spent his days endlessly inspecting socks, mixing bread dough, packing kimchi, or running errands at the factory. He practically never had a day off.

Thinking quietly, Heeseong realized a beat late that he had never truly rested.

    “I’ve never rested.”

As he said it blankly, Heeseong nodded slowly. Even at the orphanage, unless he was sick, he was always working at the factory, and on days the factory was closed, he had to do whatever the orphanage director told him to do.

The kimchi factory was no different. It ran without days off, with employees rotating day and night shifts. Heeseong technically had one day off, but after working days, he would be sent straight into night shifts before a full day had even passed, so he had never truly rested.

Because of that, he had collapsed many times. Each time, the team leader would rage as if ready to kill him and deduct money from his pay for every day he missed.

He and his brother saved money together, and whenever that happened, Heeseong always felt sorry toward his brother. He felt that his brother had to suffer more because of him.

In the end, the only times Heeseong rested were when he was sick or when his heat cycle came. Even then, he only got permission after being thoroughly cursed at by the team leader and the director, which made him shrink more and more.

That was why having so much free time now felt awkward and unfamiliar. It made him feel like he had to be doing something.

    “……”

Daesik stared at Heeseong’s clear, unguarded face. Realizing why Heeseong looked so awkward and uneasy, Daesik cursed inwardly.

What kind of fucked up bastards were they.
