PM Prologue

The cigarette on the ground was crushed under a rough shoe.
Ptuh. A thick wad of spit splattered onto the bloodstained floor with a wet hiss.
Heeseong, crouched and trembling, flinched.
His face, deathly pale, looked like he could faint at any moment.
Daesik, staring down at Heeseong, narrowed his eyes.
What should I do with this? What now?
Even the way he breathed gave away his fear. The intense scent—so sharp it felt like it could melt through him—pierced Daesik’s nose.
Heeseong was clearly terrified, and yet… Daesik was hard.
“Heeseong.”
Daesik crouched in front of him, staring down at the top of his bowed head.
Only then could he get a good look at that delicate face.
Now that’s better.
With a strange sense of satisfaction, Daesik’s lips curled upward.
“Do you like talking behind my back?”
Heeseong’s eyes twitched violently, still aimed toward the floor.
When Daesik grabbed his pale face in his rough hand, the force of it made Heeseong shrink back even more.
“Ugh…”
Unbothered, Daesik lifted Heeseong’s chin until their eyes met, grinning like a villain.
“Why’d you make me out to be trash, huh?”
“…I-I’m sorry…”
“If you’re sorry, you shouldn’t have done it.”
Tears dripped from Heeseong’s soft brown eyes in quiet little drops.
Heeseong looked like a helpless, pitiful little animal as he cried.
His tear-filled eyes were enough to make Daesik’s throat go dry.
With an obsessive gaze, he touched Heeseong’s face, stroking it as if licking every part of it with his eyes.
“So what now? You gonna pay with your body?”
Heeseong’s long eyelashes fluttered like a butterfly’s wings.
