by Lubai[KHS Exclusive] “Save us!” An Undetected Rift Appears… A Hero Leaps into Action to Prevent a Major Disaster
(Video)
[Anchor]
Last Friday, two rifts opened in Ui-dong, Gangbuk-gu. The ones who prevented a potential large-scale tragedy from these rifts were none other than Yesung Guild and the current number one ranked Hunter, ‘Cover.’ For more details, here’s our rift specialist reporter, Lee Beomjoo.
[Report]
Collapsed buildings and damaged roads are all evidence of the fierce battle against monsters that poured out from the rifts. Last Friday, after detecting the rift, the Management Bureau and Yesung Guild fought their first battle at the Ui-dong Valley. But that wasn’t the end. The second rift appeared right above Ui-dong Subway Station, not in the valley.
[Ui-dong Citizen: I was shocked. The sky cracked like glass breaking, and there were strange noises… When I came out, people were fleeing.]
The second rift was so sudden that even the Management Bureau couldn’t detect it. It appeared 1 hour and 30 minutes after the first rift, about 2 kilometers away. In a situation where no support could arrive, the person who stopped the second rift and evacuated the citizens was none other than the Hunter ‘Cover,’ who recently claimed the number one ranking.
[Ui-dong Citizen: I couldn’t evacuate because I was taking care of my younger brother. Meanwhile, monsters were flooding in… I thought we were doomed, but that Hunter saved us. Thanks to him, we safely evacuated together.]
The Hunter known as ‘Cover’ single-handedly protected the citizens and held back the monsters until support from Yesung Guild arrived. Everyone agrees that ‘Cover’ played a crucial role in preventing any casualties. Management Bureau has officially stated that they will identify the Hunter known as ‘Cover’ after reviewing the situation.
This is Lee Beomjoo from KHS News.

(Anonymous 1) Bureau idiots, please stop meddling and stay out of this.
└ For real, they are so clueless.
└ They can’t even manage one rift but keep sticking their noses everywhere, so annoying.
(Anonymous 2) What would have happened without that Hunter Cover… Scary to think about.
└ Remember the incident in Australia;;
└ So many people died in Australia… It could have been a disaster here too.
└ The citizens in that interview might all be dead now.
(Anonymous 3) Funny how all the people who were bashing Cover are suddenly silent, lol.
└ ?? Why were they bashing?
└ Probably because he joined the ranking match anonymously.
└ I don’t get it. The previous number one, Kwon Taehyeok, accepted the challenge and lost. So why the hate?
└ Exactly, lol. The top spot, even acknowledged by Kwon Taehyeok, is being criticized by clueless idiots.
(Anonymous 4) Really grateful. Even as the top Hunter, handling monsters alone is no easy task.
(Anonymous 5) Are there any videos of the Ui-dong incident?
└ Check YouTube.
└ Search for Ui-dong Rift on YouTube.
(Anonymous 6) But who is he really? Does no one know?
└ If the Bureau is quiet, they probably don’t know either.
└ Maybe Kwon Taehyeok knows? They fought together, after all.
└ I have a feeling Kwon Taehyeok knows, lol.

The CCTV footage is a bit low quality, but the person appearing from the start is the number one ranked Hunter, Cover, with Kwon Taehyeok joining in the middle!

Wow, amazing. Number one for a reason.
But what’s his skill?? It’s hard to tell from the video.
Kwon Taehyeok definitely knows who he is, lol. Why else would he come to help?
So they became friends? Is that what this means?
Does Kwon Taehyeok know that the princess carry photo of him by Cover is still circulating, lol.
When did they get so close, lol.
Didn’t people say he won the ranking by fluke? Watching this video, he’s incredible.
Shouldn’t the government reward him or something? He risked his life to protect people.
There’s an interview with someone saved by Cover in the news, it’s really touching. Without him, there would have been serious casualties.
The government should at least give a reward. What is the Bureau even doing?
Guys, don’t believe the photos and speculation about Cover’s identity on social media! No one knows the real deal yet.
Wow, what’s with the lightning at the end..? Insane.. How did he do that..?
Glad they won. Monsters these days even carry swords… so creepy.
Heard Cover’s fan club crashed because too many people tried to join, lol.
Even without seeing his face, his physique already looks amazing.
Honestly, I didn’t like that he became number one without a clear win over Kwon Taehyeok, but this incident changed my mind.. If I feel this way, the residents of Ui-dong will never forget Cover.

“I reviewed all the articles related to Ui-dong and quickly handled any problematic content.”
Kwon Taehyeok glanced over the document handed to him by his secretary and asked, “How is the Bureau reacting?”
“Not well,” the secretary replied immediately, sighing wearily.
“They’re convinced that you know the Hunter called Cover and keep contacting us about him. The media is also repeatedly requesting interviews.”
Listening to his secretary, Kwon Taehyeok smirked slightly. Of course, during the last battle, he and Cover had worked well together. With the leaked CCTV footage showing their teamwork, it was no wonder the Bureau and the media were on the scent.
“Let them waste their time for now.”
There was no need for him to clarify their misunderstanding.
Kwon Taehyeok’s casual thoughts were interrupted when he noticed a photo included in the documents. The photo, taken from the CCTV footage, showed a blurry side profile of Cover.
Blond hair blowing in the wind and a black mask covering half his face. Kwon Taehyeok blinked slowly as he stared at the image.
‘Come to think of it… I missed him again.’
He had been too busy helping the injured to notice when Cover disappeared. Of course, the identity of Cover was not more important than the lives of his guild members, but it was frustrating to miss the chance to find out who he was.
‘I should have caught that sly fox this time and confirmed his identity.’
Clicking his tongue in dissatisfaction, Kwon Taehyeok spoke again, “And about Guildmaster of One?”
“Fortunately, there’s no mention of him yet, but…” The secretary hesitated momentarily before speaking again with a troubled expression. “It’s quiet in the media and online, but rumors are spreading among Hunters and within the Bureau.”
“What kind of rumors?”
“That a Support with a wide-area healing skill appeared and saved dying Hunters on the spot… something like that.”
“Hmm…” Kwon Taehyeok rubbed his mouth with a complex expression. Thankfully, not many guild members had seen Cha Seohu that day. Most were scattered, focusing on the injured.
Some near Kwon Taehyeok and Cha Seohu had seen him, but they either didn’t know who Cha Seohu was or didn’t realize he had used a healing skill. But this was just Kwon Taehyeok’s assumption. Given that Cha Seohu had used his skill in a public place, they needed to be careful to prevent further leaks.
“Make sure the guild members keep their mouths shut, especially Team 1, who were with me on site.”
“Understood.”
“You’re dismissed.”
The secretary bowed lightly and left the office.
Now alone, Kwon Taehyeok turned his chair halfway to look out the window. The bright autumn sun shone in a clear blue sky. Watching it, he couldn’t help but think of Cha Seohu. He remembered how Cha Seohu had knelt without hesitation on the dirty ground, surrounded by monster corpses and dust, to use his skill on the injured.
“Sigh…”
Kwon Taehyeok felt more foolish than ever for having doubted Cha Seohu.
Cha Seohu and his younger brother, who had been trapped as test subjects in a lab, seemed like perfect victims, which made Kwon Taehyeok uneasy and suspicious. However, what he learned from this incident was that Cha Seohu was just someone hiding his great power and trying to protect his brother.
‘That must be why he pretends to be a B-class Support.’
An Awakened individual with two skills that had never been seen before. Moreover, these were S-class buff and healing skills.
‘If this fact gets out, it’ll cause a huge uproar.’
He now understood why Cha Seohu hid his power. To protect his brother and live a normal life, this was the best course of action. Recklessly using his skills could lead to being dragged into another illegal lab, just like last time.
“…I need to keep an eye on him for a while to ensure that doesn’t happen again.”
It wasn’t just about repaying a debt to Cha Seohu; it was more than a moral obligation. The image of Cha Seohu with white wings, sincerely caring for and healing the injured, reminded him of a devout priest.
Cha Seohu kept appearing in his mind. With a furrowed brow, Kwon Taehyeok stared at the sky, eventually lowering his head in surrender.
‘I need to visit him and bring something as a gesture.’
A mere verbal apology wouldn’t be enough to ease his conscience. Besides, he needed to discuss Cha Seohu’s skills, so he decided to visit him as soon as possible.
