Chapter 18: “Xiaoyu, close your eyes.”

This time, the two of them smoothly made it through the heat period. They no longer went to the treatment room but changed the deed to Han Junzhou’s bed. After the affair was over, Bai Chengyu awkwardly let Han Junzhou hold him to sleep. Bai Chengyu, who used to sleep alone, thought he would be unable to sleep and feel uncomfortable. However, lying next to Han Junzhou, it was as if a calming incense had been lit—he instantly fell into a sweet, deep sleep until morning.

When Bai Chengyu woke up today, Han Junzhou was already gone, and Bai Chengyu felt a bit unaccustomed to it. Over the past week, during the heat days, he always woke up in Han Junzhou’s arms, surrounded by the scent of rosewood. At first, he would feign dislike and grumble angrily at Han Junzhou for being clingy. But this bold Alpha had actually become even more clingy, not only continuing to cling to him but also learning to kiss his forehead. Bai Chengyu was shocked and put on an angry expression, but deep inside, he had to admit that those goodnight and good morning kisses made him feel fuzzy inside—it wasn’t bad at all.

Han Junzhou’s shameless kisses—Bai Chengyu didn’t snap at him, so he silently accepted it.

But today, Han Junzhou left without waiting for Bai Chengyu to wake up. Bai Chengyu didn’t even know if he had kissed him. This Alpha was becoming more and more unruly. Did he have permission to leave? And today was Sunday, the hospital should have been quiet—why did he leave so early without a word? Did something more important than him come up?

Bai Chengyu became increasingly frustrated. After getting himself ready, he didn’t even have breakfast and went straight to the training ground. He was harboring this anger and saw a group of people gathered by the ring at the training ground. Annoyed, he shouted, “What’s going on? Not practicing in the morning, what are you playing at?”

When the trained fighters and bodyguards saw Bai Shao[1] coming, they quickly made way for him. Bai Chengyu walked in and saw that a fight was happening in the ring.

His eyes lit up, and the frustration in his heart disappeared instantly. He asked someone nearby, “What’s going on?”

“Doctor Han was walking in the garden earlier and saw us practicing, so he came over,” a trained fighter said excitedly. “Doctor Han watched for a while and said he could do free fighting. He started sparring with the brothers…”

Suddenly, there was a cheer, and Bai Chengyu saw a trained fighter lying on the ground unable to get up, while Han Junzhou, with his bare upper body, had a referee raise his hand in victory. He was smiling at the audience, his eyes bright, and his sweat gleamed.

The trained fighter shook his head and laughed. “This is the third KO victory for Doctor Han. Is he a doctor or a boxing champion?”

When Han Junzhou saw Bai Chengyu, he smiled and waved his hand at him, beckoning him with his palm open. His eyebrows raised, and the thirty-something-year-old man showed a mischievous, youthful expression. Bai Chengyu, not one to back down from a challenge, took a big stride, placed his hands on the edge of the ring, and jumped up.

The crowd started to get excited. On one side, there was Bai Chengyu, the young master of the Bai family, who had been practicing martial arts since he was four years old, and began competing at seven. While he couldn’t claim to be the top in the world of martial arts, he had won trophies eight times out of ten. On the other side was Doctor Han, who had just displayed his strength and had already knocked down the elite trained fighters from the Black Shadow team three times in a row. Not to mention, he was an Alpha, with an inherent advantage that could not be ignored.

This match was incredibly anticipated. More and more people gathered around the ring, cheering for Bai Chengyu. Bai Chengyu, who had grown accustomed to removing his shirt before a fight, noticed Han Junzhou had several small scratches on his body, which seemed to be from last night’s scratches. He remembered his own body wasn’t in perfect condition either—his chest was still sore from the marks left by Han Junzhou’s kisses, and other areas had deep and shallow bite marks. He didn’t want to expose his body to a crowd. He let go of the shirt he was about to take off, glared at Han Junzhou, who was smiling knowingly, and calmly put on the gloves handed to him by the referee.

“Do I still need encouragement?” he lazily shouted toward the crowd, “Come on, cheer for Doctor Han. Don’t say we’re bullying him because it’s our home turf.”

“What style of fighting are you good at?” Han Junzhou asked with a smile. “I heard you’re a frequent champion in youth martial arts competitions. Which trophies have you won?”

“Muay Thai, judo, boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, Jeet Kune Do, karate, sanda…” Bai Chengyu tightened his gloves, slightly tilting his head as he listed all the martial arts competitions he had won trophies in. The boy was proudly but casually showing off, which made Han Junzhou, who was watching, find him somewhat endearing.

Han Junzhou laughed heartily. “Alright, alright, you can do it all, right? How about an MMA match?”

“MMA?” Bai Chengyu’s eyes lit up. “Can you handle it? You’re getting old, and you might be at a disadvantage against me.”

MMA, short for Mixed Martial Arts, was a competition that combined various fighting styles, allowing the use of striking, grappling, and ground techniques. Competitors could freely choose their preferred moves to attack, whether standing or on the ground.

Bai Chengyu deliberately mispronounced “old man” as “big pig,” but Han Junzhou wasn’t angry. Instead, he smiled, thinking of the playful nickname. “Okay, okay, Big Pig it is. A Big Pig deserves a little fish. Delicacies like no other.”

Han Junzhou chuckled as he teasingly smiled, “Shall we try?”

“Sure, let’s go!” Bai Chengyu was full of energy, hopping in place, preparing for the attack, while Han Junzhou remained calm, waiting for his opponent.

As soon as the referee blew the whistle, Bai Chengyu charged forward, unleashing a rapid series of left and right hooks. He was powerful and quick, and in previous matches, his opponents would usually fall after taking just a few of his punches. However, Han Junzhou was faster and steadier. With his fists raised in defense, he skillfully dodged every one of Bai Chengyu’s punches, blocking them effectively. Just when Bai Chengyu thought he had found an opening, Han Junzhou suddenly halted, making Bai Chengyu think he had a chance to knock him down.

Han Junzhou stopped Bai Chengyu, who was about to charge at him. He quickly slid his hands under Bai Chengyu’s armpits, flipping him upwards. Bai Chengyu’s feet left the ground, and in mid-air, he executed a perfect arc before crashing to the ground. Han Junzhou swiftly followed up by pinning him down.

Their faces were close together, and Bai Chengyu was still struggling to twist free. Han Junzhou leaned in and whispered in his ear, “Do you doubt my ability, Little Fish?” The warm breath on his ear made Bai Chengyu’s ears flush bright red.

Furious, Bai Chengyu pushed Han Junzhou off and quickly flipped onto his feet in a graceful move. Han Junzhou leaped up and stood facing him.

The crowd below had just witnessed an exciting scene and cheered in excitement, unaware that, during those three brief seconds of pinning, Bai Chengyu had already been teased by the experienced Han Junzhou.

“Let’s go again,” Bai Chengyu shouted at Han Junzhou, clearly irritated. When he first climbed into the ring, his only thought was to take Han Junzhou down with one blow, but he didn’t expect to be the one thrown to the ground first. He was panting heavily, while Han Junzhou, who had already battled three martial artists, still seemed relaxed and composed, without a trace of panic, and even had the energy to joke in his ear. Bai Chengyu, growing more frustrated, lifted his foot to kick Han Junzhou’s waist.

Han Junzhou easily caught Bai Chengyu’s ankle and lifted it up, performing a perfect skyward kick on him. Bai Chengyu lost his balance and, as Han Junzhou stepped back, his body was pulled into a splits position, landing on Han Junzhou’s body. Han Junzhou then quickly pressed his body against Bai Chengyu’s back. Bai Chengyu’s flexibility made the position less painful, but the awkwardness of the posture turned what should have been a martial arts move into something more suggestive.

“What are you doing?” Bai Chengyu grumbled, unable to break free, awkwardly hanging on to Han Junzhou.

“I’m defending,” Han Junzhou replied innocently.

The crowd burst into laughter as the referee rushed over to separate the two. Han Junzhou raised his hands and stepped back while Bai Chengyu bounced a few times, trying to relieve the tension in his legs.

Bai Chengyu, still disgruntled, yelled at Han Junzhou, “Are you serious or not? Get it together!” Unbeknownst to him, his ears, neck, and even his collarbone were flushed red. Han Junzhou, sensitive to the scent, noticed the subtle change in Bai Chengyu’s eyes, and when he saw the slight change in the pupils, he narrowed his eyes and gave a subtle nod.

The referee moved back, and Bai Chengyu readied himself for the next attack. This time, Han Junzhou moved first. His speed was so fast that Bai Chengyu barely saw the punch before it whooshed by, but Bai Chengyu could feel the tremendous force behind it. Even though Bai Chengyu was quick and managed to dodge the strikes, his punches felt like soft cotton to Han Junzhou, who took them without even flinching.

Bai Chengyu grew more frustrated, but amidst the anger, there was a sense of exhilaration. He hadn’t faced a fighter like this in a long time. It wasn’t so much a fight as it was being led by a coach, guiding him through the correct defense and attack. Bai Chengyu was thoroughly enjoying himself, and when he caught Han Junzhou’s gaze, he noticed the smile in his eyes.

For a moment, Bai Chengyu thought he might get angry, but then he realized that the smile in Han Junzhou’s eyes wasn’t one of mockery; it was a proud smile, full of admiration, though he didn’t quite know where it came from.

Bai Chengyu felt confused, but he couldn’t deny that the warm, kind look in Han Junzhou’s eyes made his heart race.

“Good punch!” Han Junzhou shouted at him. “Your left hook is too high, lower it a bit…” The crowd below saw Bai Chengyu, now with a more controlled left hook, knock Han Junzhou to the ground. Bai Chengyu immediately pinned him down, and the crowd erupted in cheers, thinking that Bai Chengyu had defeated a formidable Alpha.

But only Bai Chengyu knew the truth—Han Junzhou hadn’t actually been knocked down.

When Bai Chengyu threw the left hook, Han Junzhou had cleverly caught it, then pulled Bai Chengyu backward, creating the illusion that he had been defeated by Bai Chengyu.

Bai Chengyu wasn’t particularly happy about this; a victory that came through being let win didn’t feel like a true win. Han Junzhou smiled, and Bai Chengyu wanted nothing more than to punch that annoying grin off his face. But when he looked at the Alpha in front of him, something suddenly stirred in his neck, and he belatedly noticed the faint rosewood scent mixing with Han Junzhou’s sweat. Bai Chengyu paused, his eyes showing a rare moment of confusion.

Han Junzhou gazed at him gently and whispered in his ear, “Close your eyes.” The deep, soothing voice made Bai Chengyu’s ears tingle.

“Huh? Why?” Bai Chengyu felt his limbs weaken, his voice softening. “I… I don’t…” He was still pressing Han Junzhou down, struggling to make sense of the situation. But there was an Omega specialist in the ring with them—Han Junzhou understood Bai Chengyu’s Omega body better than Bai Chengyu himself.

“Xiaoyu, close your eyes,” Han Junzhou repeated, raising a hand to cover Bai Chengyu’s eyes. He spoke quietly, “I don’t want anyone else to see.”
