Chapter 19: Come Be My Little Fish

“Xiaoyu, close your eyes,” Han Junzhou said, his tone gentle yet carrying an uncharacteristic possessiveness and authority. “I don’t want anyone else to see.”

Bai Chengyu froze for a moment. Had Han Junzhou figured out the secret of his eyes? A rush of heat crept up Bai Chengyu’s face, and he obediently closed his eyes.

Han Junzhou couldn’t resist; he lost control. When he realized that the clarity and brightness in Bai Chengyu’s lake-green eyes were stirred by desire, he couldn’t tolerate anyone else being reflected in them or anyone else witnessing such charm. His once-prided self-discipline had given way to the primal possessiveness of an Alpha. Overwhelming possessiveness broke through the gates of reason, surging like a tidal wave.

However, after speaking, Han Junzhou felt a pang of regret. He knew Bai Chengyu detested the domineering, possessive nature of Alphas towards Omegas. He also knew he had no right to make such a demand. He expected the rebellious Bai Chengyu to lash out upon hearing his unreasonable words. Instead, Bai Chengyu silently and gently closed his eyes.

He felt the boy’s long lashes tremble against his palm, sending a subtle, tantalizing sensation straight to his heart, leaving him flustered and utterly captivated.

The two boxing opponents lay tangled together on the ring. The referee hadn’t called a “down,” but the audience below had already begun a raucous countdown. They weren’t focused on the match’s outcome—they were counting how long the two would remain in such an embrace.

By the time the crowd reached twenty, Han Junzhou rolled over and scooped Bai Chengyu into his arms, carrying him off the ring. In front of the trained fighters team, Bai Chengyu struggled lightly but simultaneously buried his face deep in Han Junzhou’s chest.

The Alpha, whose desires had been stirred, enveloped the sweet and light scent of Bai Chengyu with his dominant rosewood fragrance. With a calm expression, Han Junzhou carried him towards the Clear Serenity Courtyard.

“Bai Shao’s cycle is unstable and requires treatment,” Doctor Han declared.

The others, immediately sensing the sudden pressure weighing down the air, quickly dispersed. No one dared to betray even a hint of amusement as they moved to their assigned exercises with solemn expressions.

By the time Bai Chengyu was gently placed on the bed, his emotions had already been ignited. The roses of his scent entwined with the rosewood in a symphony of yearning, alternating between agitation and euphoria.

Han Junzhou couldn’t fathom Bai Chengyu’s inner thoughts, but he knew that he had made another step forward in capturing the little leopard’s heart.

In broad daylight, no less—had he not just coaxed this proud and awkward person into estrus[1]?

Han Junzhou was in high spirits, fully unleashing his rosewood scent to suppress Bai Chengyu’s floral fragrance, leaving it trembling. He pressed the adorable youth deep into the bedding, leaving him dazed, weak in the waist, and soft-legged.

Eventually, the rosewood and floral scents intertwined once more, blending into a singular, alluring rose fragrance that gently wafted through the room.

After an afternoon of intimate entanglement, Bai Chengyu finally woke in a haze. It was already late afternoon, and the warm glow of sunset filled the room. Neither of them had any clothes on; Bai Chengyu was entirely wrapped in the blanket, with only his head exposed. Han Junzhou, already awake, leaned against the headboard, his gaze fixed on Bai Chengyu with a faint smile. His bare chest bore new red scratch marks, adding an even more ambiguous air to the atmosphere.

“You’re awake?” Han Junzhou’s deep, husky voice wrapped gently around Baii Chengyu’s ears. “Hungry? Let’s get you something to eat.”

“Okay.” Bai Chengyu’s voice was even hoarser than usual. Clearing his throat, he realized his voice wasn’t returning anytime soon and felt a twinge of embarrassment—he had indeed been too loud earlier. He tugged the blanket tighter, burying himself further into it.

Seeing Bai Chengyu’s rare display of shyness, Han Junzhou chuckled softly. “You were amazing today, Xiaoyu.” As Bai Chengyu rolled his eyes in annoyance, Han Junzhou added, “Your punches were quick and precise, just like a true champion.”

Sliding back under the blanket, Han Junzhou wrapped Bai Chengyu in his arms. Their legs entwined, and their bare skin pressed together. He cupped Bai Chengyu’s face to meet his gaze, noting that the fiery passion had left his deep green eyes, which had returned to their usual calm.

Unable to contain himself, Han Junzhou murmured, “Can I kiss you? I want to kiss you.” They were so close their noses nearly touched, and his words carried the lingering scent of roses, wrapping around Bai Chengyu in an intoxicating embrace that left him flustered.

Bai Chengyu turned his head, avoiding Han Junzhou’s gaze. He thought this Alpha was dangerous. At first glance, he had dismissed him as a useless doctor—an old Alpha. But now, the more he looked at him, the more he found him handsome. Even a single glance could make his legs weak. Feeling helpless, Bai Chengyu tightened his lips and used body language to indicate his refusal.

But this wasn’t rejection; it was an invitation. Like a patient bracing themselves for a needle, they may look away but still wait for the inevitable. Han Junzhou watched Bai Chengyu’s tense anticipation, feeling both delighted and tender. He understood that Bai Chengyu didn’t truly want to refuse, but he wasn’t fully ready either. Sighing softly, Han Junzhou resolved to be patient—he had promised to wait and wouldn’t push the little leopard too hard.

Yet patience has its limits. Holding the obedient Little leopard in his arms, still tinged with the flush of intimacy, his slightly pouting lips trembling ever so faintly in quiet surrender, Han Junzhou could no longer restrain himself. His inner voice roared: Kiss him. Kiss him…

    Just one kiss—a gentle one.

Lowering his head, Han Junzhou lightly brushed his lips against Bai Chengyu’s. He felt the youth stiffen in surprise, his lips pressing together tightly. Han Junzhou gently rubbed his lips back and forth before catching Bai Chengyu’s lower lip briefly, ending the kiss within seconds.

As the kiss ended, Han Junzhou faintly noticed Bai Chengyu unconsciously tilt his head slightly, as if chasing after the departing touch.

When their lips finally parted, a soft sigh escaped the boy’s lips—a mix of relief and regret.

Han Junzhou smiled faintly as he looked at Bai Chengyu, unable to take his eyes off him.

Snapping back to reality, Bai Chengyu noticed the smile on Han Junzhou’s face and couldn’t help but pout. He sometimes really disliked that smile—it resembled a hunter locking onto its prey, brimming with determination and making him feel extremely annoyed.

He didn’t want to be someone’s prey, and the rebellious little leopard inside him awakened, baring its claws and fangs. Bai Chengyu rubbed his lips with the back of his hand and said disdainfully, “Who gave you permission to kiss me…” Before he could finish, Han Junzhou grabbed his hand, pressed it against the pillow, and leaned down to kiss him again.

“Don’t wipe it away,” Han Junzhou warned, his eyes narrowing dangerously. “If you wipe it, I’ll kiss you again.” He spoke with a threatening tone that suggested he was more than capable of following through.

It was rare for Bai Chengyu to see such a fierce side of Han Junzhou. Even though it was evident he was teasing, Bai Chengyu found himself momentarily stunned. Unconsciously, he licked his lips with the tip of his tongue, inadvertently taking in Han Junzhou’s kiss.

Han Junzhou’s eyes widened as his blood surged. This sweet little leopard had unknowingly sent his heart racing. Bai Chengyu, completely unaware of how dangerous his actions were, merely detected a thick rosewood scent in the air. At the same time, a tingling sensation coursed through the nape of his neck.

Before he could figure out what was happening, Han Junzhou’s aroused body pressed against his thigh.

“…” Bai Chengyu looked at the now fully “charged” Han Junzhou in disbelief, unable to comprehend how he had recovered so quickly.

Without a barrier, Han Junzhou merely pressed against Bai Chengyu’s leg, the friction driving Bai Chengyu to irritation. He grumbled in a breathy, almost petulant tone, “Go put one on already.” Pushing against Han Junzhou’s chest, he urged him to use protection, finding the endless grinding unbearable. Although Bai Chengyu wasn’t in full heat, the Alpha’s presence and movements against his sensitive spots left him frustrated and tingling with need.

“I don’t need to. Just holding you like this is enough,” Han Junzhou replied, his voice raspy as he continued his teasing movements. Bai Chengyu rolled his eyes in exasperation. “Then hold me quietly!” he thought. “This kind of grinding is just tormenting both of us!”

Pressed tightly together, Bai Chengyu could feel Han Junzhou’s arousal growing harder and hotter between his legs. Finally, Han Junzhou stopped, panting heavily as sweat formed on his brow. Bai Chengyu, utterly confused about Han Junzhou’s intentions, was left feeling similarly affected. His foggy mind completely forgot about the lack of protection and instinctively spread his legs, wrapping them around Han Junzhou’s waist.

Han Junzhou hissed sharply at the sensation of Bai Chengyu’s entrance grazing against him. That soft, enticing spot seemed to draw him in with a faint, irresistible suction. It took everything in Han Junzhou to resist plunging in. He shifted his hips away with great difficulty, earning a dissatisfied hum from Bai Chengyu.

“Not now,” Han Junzhou said firmly, refusing to go further. He glanced into Bai Chengyu’s eyes. Thankfully, they still retained their deep green hue, untouched by hormonal chaos. “You’re hungry. Let’s get up first.”

Bai Chengyu frowned, reluctantly sitting up as Han Junzhou pulled him along. The interrupted moment left him flustered and annoyed. Frustrated, he slapped the bed and snapped, “I’m not hungry!”

As if mocking him, a loud growl from his stomach filled the air, betraying his words.

    Bai Chengyu: “…” Damn it!

Han Junzhou chuckled softly. “Alright, alright, you’re not hungry, but I am. Let’s eat first, and then we’ll come back.” He ruffled Bai Chengyu’s hair, leaning in to plant another kiss on his eyelid. “Eat well. When we get back, I won’t let my little fish[2] off the hook.”

The rosy scent of pheromones lingered near Bai Chengyu’s ears as Han Junzhou’s suggestive whisper left his cheeks burning. Furious and embarrassed, Bai Chengyu threw the blanket off with a huff, snapping, “Don’t call me little fish, and don’t kiss me!”

Without another glance, he turned his bare back to Han Junzhou and stormed out of the room.

“Alright, little fish, we’ll kiss later,” Han Junzhou called out teasingly from behind, making Bai Chengyu slam the door shut in frustration.

Watching the door close, Han Junzhou’s heart swelled with a mix of sweetness, longing, and ache. This beautiful, adorable, and stubborn boy—when would he truly become his?

Honestly, the wait was becoming unbearable.

Little fish, come be my little fish, okay?

    Footnotes:

    1. estrus: In the context of humans or fictional settings like omegaverse stories, estrus typically refers to a heightened period of sexual receptivity or fertility, similar to "heat" in animals.
    2. little fish: Han Junzhou calls Bai Chengyu “Little Fish” (小魚) as a playful nickname connected to Bai Chengyu’s name. The character 俞 in Bai Chengyu’s name is pronounced the same as “魚” (fish) in Mandarin, creating a pun. This affectionate term also reflects Bai Chengyu’s spirited and elusive nature, much like a lively fish, and highlights the teasing yet tender bond between them.
