    Chapter 27:  Let’s Go Home

Bai Chengyu heard Han Junzhou say, “I need to finish treating my patients before I can accompany you.” Without thinking, he blurted out, “Am I more important, or are your patients?”

Both were startled by his question. Bai Chengyu caught the surprised yet amused look in Han Junzhou’s eyes, and embarrassment surged as he wished he could take back those impulsive words.

“Your classes are important, and so are my patients,” Han Junzhou said, as composed and fair-minded as always.

Bai Chengyu pressed his lips together in frustration, choosing not to respond. But then Han Junzhou added, “However, if it’s just me, Xiaoyu is the most important.”

Bai Chengyu’s eyes widened, stunned. He stared at Han Junzhou, his expression a mix of confusion and something unspoken.

Sweet, sticky words like these had never been exchanged between them before. As far as Bai Chengyu was concerned, they weren’t even lovers. He couldn’t see himself being like those silly Omegas, who melted at such honeyed flattery.

Yet, when Han Junzhou said, “Xiaoyu is the most important,” Bai Chengyu’s knees almost gave out. His gland at the back of his neck felt swollen and tingling, as if that sickly-sweet floral scent might burst out any moment. Without realizing it, his hand gripped the front of Han Junzhou’s shirt.

It was meant to look like he was grabbing him for a serious confrontation, but the softness in Bai Chengyu’s stance betrayed a sense of vulnerability. “Do you like… that Xiao An?” he asked, his tone laced with quiet grievance.

He knew full well that Han Junzhou’s ex was a dashing Alpha. Still, seeing him with that fragile Omega stirred a storm of insecurity.

“He looks so delicate,” Bai Chengyu muttered. “Do all Alphas like the type of Omega that needs protecting?”

What he really wanted to say was, What’s so good about someone so soft? Look at me instead.

But such self-deprecating comparisons were too undignified for the proud Bai family heir to voice aloud.

Frowning, Bai Chengyu’s mind drifted to his own physique—his abs, pecs, biceps, traps… and so on. While not the exaggerated bulk of a bodybuilder, his muscles were well-defined from years of physical training. Since his secondary gender revealed itself as Omega, he’d secretly increased his workout intensity by 30%, determined not to let his natural limitations soften his musculature or compromise his stamina.

But what was the point of all that effort? When it came to strength, he couldn’t outmatch Yue Qi Laoshi. When it came to being delicate, he couldn’t compare to Xiao An. He was stuck awkwardly in the middle, with no defining traits to make him stand out.

Bai Chengyu had never felt emotions like this before. He had always prided himself on his abilities, working tirelessly to prove to his father that he was no less capable than any Alpha.

But now, he found himself feeling a little bitter. The type of delicate person he had always disdained was somehow drawing Han Junzhou’s attention.

Han Junzhou could easily see through Bai Chengyu’s internal struggle. In the past, he refrained from speaking openly because Bai Chengyu was still young, and the timing didn’t feel right. But now that Bai Chengyu was beginning to experience these budding, unspoken emotions, Han Junzhou saw no need to hold back anymore.

“I don’t like Xiao An. He’s just my patient,” Han Junzhou said soothingly as he pulled Bai Chengyu into a comforting embrace.

“But you call him Xiao An—so affectionately,” Bai Chengyu protested, jealousy blatantly lacing his voice. His frowning expression was so pronounced that Han Junzhou couldn’t resist smoothing his brows with his fingers.

With a resigned sigh, Han Junzhou explained, “I wasn’t being affectionate. That’s simply his name—Xiao An. His surname is Xiao, written with the characters for ‘sunlight and radiance,’ and his given name is just ‘An.’”

Han Junzhou guided Bai Chengyu to the computer, pulled up the patient’s record, and discreetly hid all other personal details before letting Bai Chengyu see the screen.

Sure enough, the patient’s name displayed as “Xiao An.”

Bai Chengyu stared at it, an embarrassed laugh escaping him. “What… a unique surname. And his name is pretty nice too. Haha…”

“I like you,” Han Junzhou interrupted, cutting off Bai Chengyu’s self-deprecating moment.

Han Junzhou didn’t want Bai Chengyu drowning in unnecessary insecurities. That kind of pitiful demeanor didn’t suit him at all. In Han Junzhou’s eyes, Bai Chengyu should always be the confident, bold young leopard—proud and unyielding.

“I’ve never been interested in delicate Omegas,” Han Junzhou continued. “I like you—strong, just like me. No, stronger than me!”

He rubbed his cheek affectionately against Bai Chengyu’s hair. “Truly, you’re my favorite.”

Hearing such a straightforward confession, accompanied by the comforting scent of rosewood, Bai Chengyu felt his heart melt. All his grievances dissolved, leaving only a lightness in his chest. He wanted to throw his head back and let out a triumphant roar, but instead, he lowered his head, resting it on Han Junzhou’s shoulder.

Though Bai Chengyu couldn’t bring himself to respond with words as direct as Han Junzhou’s, his actions spoke louder. Bowing his head, he exposed the nape of his neck—his most vulnerable and guarded spot—indicating his acceptance.

His gland was swollen and trembling, exuding a sweet rose fragrance. Fine beads of sweat dotted the delicate skin over his gland. Seeing Bai Chengyu’s rare display of submission, Han Junzhou was overwhelmed with a mix of surprise and joy, almost losing control.

But Han Junzhou restrained himself. He had waited so long—there was no way he would mark his beautiful Omega in such a shabby clinic. Instead, he leaned forward and licked Bai Chengyu’s gland, gently and repeatedly, eliciting a shudder from the young man leaning against him.

As Bai Chengyu trembled, unable to stand, Han Junzhou reached into a cabinet, grabbed a fresh barrier blanket, and wrapped Bai Chengyu up snugly. Then, carrying him, he opened the door and walked out.

Outside the clinic, Hei Shier was still dutifully standing guard, blocking the nurse who had earlier escorted the Omega patient and was now anxiously trying to return. The nurse feared that the well-mannered Dr. Han might be in trouble with that rude young man.

Unbeknownst to her, the composed and soft-spoken Dr. Han was more than capable as a strong Han family Alpha.

Hei Shier, who was used to his young master’s domineering nature, also knew that Dr. Han always indulged the young master. He couldn’t help but feel nervous for Dr. Han, fearing that the angry young master might give him an earful this time.

However, no one expected that when the clinic door opened, what they saw was Dr. Han holding a bundle wrapped in a blanket, with Bai Chengyu securely wrapped inside.

Hei Shier quickly stepped forward. Before he could say anything, Dr. Han instructed the nurse to leave first, asking her to help arrange for any returning patients to see another doctor. He also assured Hei Shier that he would handle things and that Hei Shier could return to the Bai family.

With that, Dr. Han walked confidently ahead, gently patting the person in his arms. He whispered, “We’re going home.”

Dr. Han then took Bai Chengyu home—his own home.
