    Chapter 7: Who’s Having a Teacher-Student Romance With You?

After three consecutive lectures on secondary reproduction biology, class was finally dismissed. A group of male and female students surrounded Han Junzhou at the podium, bombarding him with questions. The teacher, ever patient, answered them one by one.

Cheng Yu snorted disdainfully. It was only the first class, and the material was laughably simple. Were these people just plain stupid? He couldn’t comprehend why even the top student from the previous semester needed to crowd in and ask questions.

As Cheng Yu packed up his bag, ready to leave, his friend Wang Heng muttered a curse under his breath. “Do you smell that? Someone’s clearly lovesick, shamelessly releasing their scent. Aren’t they afraid of causing trouble?” Covering his nose, Wang Heng fished out an Alpha sedative from his bag and popped one into his mouth. “Want one?” he offered.

Cheng Yu shook his head. Wang Heng smirked, “Oh, right, I forgot—you’re frigid.” That earned him a glare from Cheng Yu.

Wang Heng, an Alpha, always assumed that the equally cold Cheng Yu was the same. In the past, when a careless Omega had let their pheromones spill out, most of the Alphas in their class scrambled for their sedatives. Only Cheng Yu remained unfazed. While others admired his self-control, they also teased him for being sexually indifferent.

Though Omega pheromones didn’t affect Cheng Yu, they still left him internally uneasy. It irritated him when Alphas made uninhibited remarks about Omegas, and he would often join in dismissing Omegas in their discussions. Yet, what frustrated him even more was the irony of his own disdain—this very group he looked down on so much…

At that moment, Cheng Yu caught a faint trace of Omega pheromones in the air, barely perceptible but still present. His brows furrowed. To him, such reckless displays of pheromones were disgraceful. Can’t they control themselves?

He glanced at Han Junzhou, who was chatting amiably with the group of students, seemingly unbothered by the scent. Cheng Yu scowled, his face a mask of indifference as he descended the stairs at the back of the classroom.

“Hey, hey! Why the rush? Let’s go play basketball!” Wang Heng called out, chasing after him. As one of Cheng Yu’s few friends on campus, Wang Heng persisted despite Cheng Yu’s constant aloofness.

Once Han Junzhou had finished addressing the students’ questions and assigning tasks to Liang Yuchan, he looked up to find the classroom empty. As expected, Cheng Yu had left without so much as a word. Han Junzhou sighed, picked up his briefcase, and walked out of the classroom alone.

To his surprise, waiting under a tree outside the lecture building was a familiar figure. Han Junzhou paused for a moment before heading down the steps toward him. “Looking for me?”

The man nodded, his expression serious. “Young Master requests your presence.” He led Han Junzhou to a waiting car, opened the door, and gestured for him to get in.

Inside the car sat Cheng Yu, reclining with his eyes closed. “Did you take off your pheromone suppressant patch?” Cheng Yu’s voice was commanding, his tone curt and dismissive. He didn’t even glance at Han Junzhou, his blatant rudeness underscoring his foul mood. “Take it off. I don’t feel well and need your scent to stabilize me.”

Han Junzhou quietly removed the suppressant patch on his neck. He understood that in the classroom earlier, Cheng Yu—uniquely sensitive to his rose-scented pheromones—had caught faint traces of it, likely stirring some latent desires. Although Junzhou had quickly suppressed his scent completely, the brief stimulation had still unsettled Cheng Yu. Combined with the lingering scent of other Omegas in the class, Cheng Yu’s mood had further spiraled.

Fortunately, Cheng Yu’s heat cycle had just passed. A brief exposure to Junzhou’s scent would be enough to calm his restlessness.

The two sat in silence inside the car, letting the rose fragrance swirl gently in the confined space. Junzhou controlled the release of his scent with care, its warmth soothing the leopard-like agitation in Cheng Yu’s aura.

After a while, Cheng Yu finally sat up straighter, his voice hoarse and tinged with fatigue. “Thanks,” he said perfunctorily, though his tone lacked warmth. A fleeting daze lingered in his eyes as he quickly added, “Don’t let anyone at school know about our relationship. Also, my classmates all think I’m an Alpha. Don’t let it slip.”

Surprised, Junzhou turned to look at him. “I wouldn’t reveal anything like that. But… you,” he hesitated, puzzled. “How could your classmates think you’re an Alpha? Did you lie to them? Can’t they tell from your scent?”

“I didn’t lie. I just… didn’t correct them,” Cheng Yu retorted, his voice defensive. A faint blush spread across his face as he continued, almost begrudgingly, “I usually don’t have any scent. Only when you’re around… they must’ve smelled yours.”

Realizing the implication, he grew flustered, his embarrassment turning into anger. “Anyway, just stay away from me at school. If they find out we share a similar scent, you’re dead. Keep your pheromones in check, and don’t go around seducing people. Teacher-student romances are probably forbidden at school, so don’t try anything!”

“Oh, I’ll make sure no one knows about our teacher-student romance,” Junzhou replied with a faint smile, unable to resist teasing him.

Cheng Yu froze, stunned for two seconds. “Who’s having a teacher-student romance with you?!” His voice rose in indignation. “Don’t get the wrong idea. We’re just… mutually using each other as bed partners!”

Cheng Yu couldn’t stand how Junzhou romanticized their relationship. Swatting at him irritably, he grumbled, “Romance, my foot! Who would want to date an old man like you? Just get out already.” His voice carried the distinct growl of a leopard, warning Junzhou not to push his luck.

Suppressing a chuckle, Junzhou obediently opened the car door to leave. Before stepping out, he asked curiously, “Do you always wear color-changing contact lenses during class?”

“What?” Cheng Yu frowned. “What lenses?”

“Your eyes,” Junzhou gestured. “They’re a lovely lake-green color. Why hide them?”

“I…” Cheng Yu stammered, his tongue tied. A deep blush spread across his face as he snapped, “None of your business! Get out!” This time, his frustration boiled over, and he shoved Junzhou out of the car.

Junzhou stumbled slightly as he exited but couldn’t help smiling. He’s so cute when he gets flustered. The memory of Cheng Yu’s red face after being called “pretty” lingered, warming Junzhou’s heart.

As the car sped off, the driver couldn’t help but glance at the rearview mirror. He wondered what Han Junzhou had said to make their young master bury his face into the seat in sheer embarrassment, the tips of his ears glowing red.

On Friday, when Han Junzhou entered the classroom, the board had already been wiped clean, and the computer from the podium cabinet was set up on the desk. Liang Yuchan approached him, asking if there were any additional instructions.

Out of the corner of his eye, Junzhou noticed a sharp gaze directed at him. When he turned, Cheng Yu had already lowered his head, pretending to read a book. Suppressing a smile, Junzhou shook his head at Liang Yuchan and told her to return to her seat.

The bell rang, and Han Junzhou began his lecture.
