TEWRAWTEC CH 16
by jj.ssasipscoffeeChapter 16: A Slap Across Murong Zichen’s Face
Originally, Mo Hua had always treated him with a cold and indifferent attitude. But ever since Yun Mingzhuo revealed his Third-Degree Black Belt skills, Mo Hua began to admire him.
In truth, Yun Mingzhuo simply couldn’t stand watching Mo Hua practice swordsmanship using the Sunflower Manual. So he offered a few tips—and while at it, gave him a taste of their 21st-century martial arts.
As the saying goes: “Distance tests a horse’s strength; time reveals a person’s heart.”[1] After spending time together, Mo Hua realized that Yun Mingzhuo was nothing like what he had heard.
Yun Mingzhuo had a gentle temperament, occasionally humorous, and more importantly, he treated Mo Hua with great care—like his own younger brother.
Though Mo Hua couldn’t understand why someone so outstanding had such a poor reputation, he believed there must be some kind of misunderstanding.
But Yun Mingzhuo wasn’t that lucky—just as he finally made a friend, disaster struck because of it…
At the time, Yun Mingzhuo was telling the young Mo Hua the story of Journey to the West[2]. Mo Hua listened with twinkling eyes, completely captivated.
However, just as the moment turned warm and cozy, Murong Zichen stormed in furiously.
He ordered someone to drive Mo Hua out of Qingxiang Palace and slapped Yun Mingzhuo hard across the face.
“You filthy little slut! Can’t you even stand a moment of loneliness?
Sleeping with a guard—how shameless can you be?!”
Yun Mingzhuo was stunned by the slap, and only after hearing those words did he realize—Murong Zichen had completely misunderstood his relationship with Mo Hua.
But who gave Murong Zichen the right to hit him? It’s not like Murong Zichen was anything to Yun Mingzhuo.
Yun Mingzhuo glanced at him, not bothering to reply—as if Murong Zichen were nothing more than a stranger.
If he wanted to hit him, so be it. Yun Mingzhuo had thick skin, after all.
Murong Zichen became even more furious seeing him act so nonchalant.
He had imagined all kinds of reactions from Yun Mingzhuo, but not this—calmly sipping tea as if nothing had happened.
“Is the tea good?” Murong Zichen grabbed the teacup from his hand and smashed it to the ground.
Drink, drink, drink! May you drown in it!
A glint of venom flickered in Murong Zichen’s beautiful eyes.
Yun Mingzhuo replied coolly, “It’s just a trivial matter. Why must Your Majesty lose your temper over something so minor?”
“Trivial matter?!” Murong Zichen grabbed his hand and roared, “Do you even know what people are saying behind our backs?! Do you know what they’re saying about me and about you?!”
Yun Mingzhuo shrugged nonchalantly,
“It’s their mouths—they can say whatever they want. As long as I walk righteously and live with a clear conscience, that’s enough.”
Besides, those people were talking about the original host, not him—Yun Mingzhuo. Why should he care? It had nothing to do with him!
Why should he bear the consequences of the foolish things the original host had done?
“Your heart’s really big, huh?” Murong Zichen growled.
“You flatter me, Your Majesty,” Yun Mingzhuo replied evenly.
“Flattery?”
When he heard that word, Murong Zichen was so angry he actually laughed. Was that supposed to be a compliment? Did this little eunuch not realize he was being mocked?
Murong Zichen’s words were laced with thorns—how could Yun Mingzhuo possibly not catch the underlying sarcasm? He was just playing dumb, that’s all.
Murong Zichen was already furious at Yun Mingzhuo’s attitude.
Suddenly, he shoved Yun Mingzhuo onto the bed. “You look so pleased with yourself—must be that body of yours has already been loosened up by that guard, huh?!”
“What the hell are you saying?!” Yun Mingzhuo raised his hand and slapped Murong Zichen hard across the face.
Damn it, loosened up your ass! How dare an emperor speak with such crude vulgarity!
Murong Zichen, struck across the face, flew into an imperial rage. His expression twisted in fury. He pinned Yun Mingzhuo down on the bed, gave him two fierce slaps in return, and yanked down his pants…
(To be continued…)
T/L: WTH…That slap for Murong Zichen was so satisfying tho.
Footnotes:
- “Distance tests a horse’s strength; time reveals a person’s heart.”: is a traditional Chinese proverb. It means that just as a horse’s endurance is proven over a long journey, a person’s true character is revealed over time. It emphasizes the importance of patience and long-term observation in understanding someone’s nature or trustworthiness. ↑
- Journey to the West: is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. Written in the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty, it is a fantastical tale inspired by the real-life pilgrimage of the Buddhist monk Xuanzang to India in search of sacred scriptures. The novel follows his journey, accompanied by three disciples—most famously the Monkey King, Sun Wukong—encountering demons, trials, and moral lessons along the way. It is renowned for its blend of adventure, spirituality, satire, and folklore. ↑
