Chapter 32: Shameless

“Why are you rushing him off?” Yun Mingzhuo quickly stopped Mo Hua, who was about to drive Shang Xuan away. He said seriously, “Xuan Xuan is an honored guest of mine. You should treat him well.”

Although feelings couldn’t be forced, Yun Mingzhuo still felt it would be a good thing if Mo Hua made more friends.

He noticed that Mo Hua was always sticking close to him—probably because of his cold personality and lack of social circles.

Mo Hua was initially reluctant, but he couldn’t go against Yun Mingzhuo’s wishes. And when Shang Xuan saw the usually indifferent Mo Hua suddenly take the initiative to talk to him, his teary-eyed expression instantly turned into a smile, his eyes curved like crescent moons.

Yun Mingzhuo : “……” Huh. Turns out Xuan Xuan really does value romance over friendship!

Later on, Shang Xuan began frequently “dropping by” Qingxiang Palace.

Yun Mingzhuo felt a bit helpless. This was bad—if Murong Zichen saw Shang Xuan constantly pestering Mo Hua, there was no doubt Murong Zichen would punish Mo Hua severely.

After all, Shang Xuan was still, at least in name, one of Murong Zichen’s “consorts.” This behavior definitely qualified as “climbing over the wall”^[1].

Worried that Mo Hua might be dragged into this, Yun Mingzhuo tried—both subtly and directly—to hint at Shang Xuan to ease up and stop clinging to Mo Hua. Otherwise, Mo Hua might suffer a disaster for no reason.

But Shang Xuan paid no heed and still stuck to Mo Hua like glue every day… There was even one time when Shang Xuan was watching Mo Hua practice swordsmanship. Coincidentally, Murong Zichen had come to Qingxiang Palace to visit Yun Mingzhuo. Even then, Shang Xuan had no intention of avoiding suspicion—he actually acted all cutesy and asked Mo Hua to teach him sword techniques right in front of Murong Zichen!

Seeing this, Yun Mingzhuo’s heart nearly stopped. But strangely enough, Murong Zichen merely gave Shang Xuan a helpless look and didn’t do anything drastic.

In fact, what irritated Murong Zichen most was this: His precious younger brother was throwing himself at that little guard, but the guard didn’t seem to care at all and remained cold and distant.

Hmph! That little guard and his lowly little eunuch “master” were both the same—shamelessly ungrateful.

The little eunuch dared to scorn him, and now even Shang Xuan liked this Mo Hua… Just what kind of charm did this Mo Hua have?
