by jj.ssasipscoffeeChapter 6: The Relationship Between Presidents (II)
Wei Gaochen felt like his brain froze for two whole seconds.
The first second was because Du Linghe suddenly pushed him down without warning. The second was because, even in that compromising position, he still found himself briefly distracted by how good-looking Du Linghe was.
——And then he snapped out of it the moment Du Linghe’s hand touched his skin.
As their bodies came into contact, Wei Gaochen hastily pressed against him, stammering for once.
“President Du, what do you think you’re doing?”
But Du Linghe didn’t move away. Instead, he remained surprisingly calm as he let Wei Gaochen hold him back, his gaze becoming sharper and more deliberate.
Then, Wei Gaochen suddenly felt his wrist being caught and forced up—pinned above his head.
“Wei Gaochen,” Du Linghe said coolly, “if you came here to provoke me, then you should’ve been ready for this.”
When did I ever provoke you!? …Wait, maybe I have been provoking you all along—but this isn’t the kind of reaction I expected!
Wei Gaochen almost wanted to scream. What he was supposed to see was Du Linghe beating him senseless, using the protagonist’s halo to bankrupt the villain’s company, or maybe even shooting him in the rain to end it all dramatically—Not this. Not being pinned down on the sofa like this!
Ever since he became a “qualified CEO,” Wei Gaochen hadn’t done any real exercise, so he didn’t even have the strength to fight back.
“I—uh—what kind of ‘preparation’ are you talking about?” Wei Gaochen gave an awkward laugh. “If you’re gonna hit me, fine, but could you stop touching me like that?”
“Your reactions,” Du Linghe said, raising an eyebrow as he unfastened Wei Gaochen’s top button, “remind me of a kind of pleasure I haven’t felt in years. And besides, I’m not interested in beating you up… I’m interested in you—or to be precise, I’m sexually interested.”
“You’re kidding, right!?” Wei Gaochen practically yelped.
In the novel, Du Linghe was as straight as they come—a manly, red-blooded protagonist who could go three days and nights with the female lead without rest! Aside from the usual CEO clichés—throwing money around, dramatic love chases, and a perfect happy ending—the story was filled with… well, the real thing!
A man like him wouldn’t just go looking for a random target to—
“Wait, he couldn’t possibly be into men’s butts, right!?”
Wei Gaochen hadn’t realized that last part came out of his mouth.
Du Linghe, however, chuckled. He watched the nervous flicker in Wei Gaochen’s light-colored eyes and, in a surprisingly pleasant tone, decided to explain himself.
“Thanks to all the chaos your company has caused these past few years,” he said, “I’ve been busy nonstop.”
Wei Gaochen felt Du Linghe’s fingers brush against him again, making him shiver involuntarily.
“T-that’s sexual harassment!” Wei Gaochen protested loudly—but apart from yelling, he barely resisted. His body trembled more out of fear and confusion than anger.
Du Linghe could clearly tell that this “CEO Wei” was all talk—his mouth said no, but his body wasn’t exactly fighting him off. Smirking, he leaned down closer, his leg braced against the edge of the sofa.
Wei Gaochen felt himself sink deeper into the cushions, the distance between them shrinking even more. That faint, indescribable scent from Du Linghe’s body lingered between their breaths.
“If you dare say,” Du Linghe murmured, voice low and controlled, “that every time you met with me, you never once looked, never stared, never secretly observed me—If you truly don’t like me—then go ahead. Leave this office right now.”
Of course I only looked because of the mission! …Well, and maybe because you’re really good-looking.
“I—I just think that I’m not the person you should be doing this to…” Wei Gaochen said weakly.
“And what makes you think,” Du Linghe replied with an amused expression, “that it shouldn’t be you?”
Wei Gaochen stared in disbelief. “Aren’t you supposed to hate me!? For years, every time you dealt with Wei Corporation, you’ve acted like even brushing against me would rot your hand off! You’ve looked like you wanted me erased from existence by some divine punishment! And—besides—aren’t you supposed to be straight!?”
Wei Gaochen’s abdomen was brushed lightly—yet instead of finding it flirtatious, he felt more like a fish laid out on a cutting board, being toyed with by a knife named Du Linghe. He was this close to being slaughtered.
Du Linghe seemed to think for a moment before speaking calmly,
“I did like women before. But over the past few years, aside from wanting to put a bullet through your head, I’ve started having some… interesting thoughts.”
“…What kind of thoughts?”
“Rather than killing you myself, I thought—why not try something like this instead?”
He said it with no expression whatsoever, as if he were clinically analyzing his own state of mind, calmly laying out his final conclusion.
Clearly, Wei Gaochen wanted no part of that conclusion.
“N-no, wait, this isn’t something you should just fool around with!” he stammered with a nervous laugh. “If this goes wrong, it’s called assault! Surely the Du Corporation wouldn’t want that kind of headline, right?”
But Du Linghe didn’t loosen his hold on him. He leaned in closer instead.
Those cold, anger-laced eyes blinked once—slowly.
And the next thing Wei Gaochen felt was a gentle kiss on his forehead.
It was astonishingly tender, completely at odds with Du Linghe’s usual image—a warm, harmless kiss, utterly devoid of malice.
Wei Gaochen froze, staring blankly until Du Linghe met his gaze again.
“I already told you,” Du Linghe said quietly, “if you don’t like it, you can leave.”
It was a command delivered in that typical CEO tone, but to Wei Gaochen—who knew this protagonist far too well—the meaning behind it was crystal clear.
Do you dislike what’s happening, or do you dislike the person doing it?
That was what Du Linghe truly meant.
He was giving Wei Gaochen a chance to escape—Yet the moment Wei Gaochen realized that, he found himself unable to take it. It was as if Du Linghe had already seen straight through him.
He was mortified. Absolutely dying of embarrassment.
Wei Gaochen opened his mouth, but his usual glibness had completely deserted him.
Seeing that the man beneath him didn’t seem to be resisting—only blushing bright red—Du Linghe knew exactly what to do next.
Then, the soft kisses began to fall.
Wei Gaochen went stiff as a board. He had no idea how it came to this, or why, or whether he should push him away—his head was a storm of confusion.
The large hand pinning his wrist gradually shifted, their fingers lacing together instead. Du Linghe really was good at this sort of thing. Whenever Wei Gaochen turned away to dodge the kisses, he would simply tighten his grip and pull him back into his arms.
Ears, eyes, the corner of his mouth—Du Linghe didn’t rush. He pressed in gently, softening the resistance little by little.
The entire situation was absurd. Wei Gaochen had never been this physically close to anyone before, and he certainly never expected Du Linghe to treat him this way. In his mind, Du Linghe was the type who should’ve wanted him dead, not… this.
“Wait—don’t do that…” Wei Gaochen muttered weakly.
He was supposed to have a tragic end, not be treated with such tenderness.
He tried to struggle free, and when Du Linghe, who had just reached his collarbone, sensed the resistance, he actually paused.
It was as though he would truly stop if Wei Gaochen rejected him.
That only made things worse—because it left Wei Gaochen even more at a loss.
So, with his brain short-circuiting, the CEO’s mouth decided to speak nonsense again.
“Honestly, for a guy who’s always messing with you, I’m really not that worth touching, am I? If you want revenge, you can just destroy the Wei Corporation, or have me thrown in jail instead.” Wei Gaochen turned his head away, rambling incoherently. “As for… uh, your pent-up urges—sorry for keeping you so busy these past few years. I didn’t mean to interfere with your private life. My sincerest apologies for any frustration I’ve caused. But for that, you could just spend some money and find someone softer—someone with, you know, breasts—she’d be way more suitable for you to—mmph!”
Before he could finish, Du Linghe tore open half his shirt and silenced him with a kiss.
