Chapter 50: Transaction (Main Story Finale)

He leaned closer to Xia Ye’s ear and whispered, “Just like your earlier question—whether you’re passionate or shy—I’ll show you that I love it all. I’ll f*cking love it.”

Xia Ye tugged at his ear in protest. “Speak properly!” Yet, the teasing words, transmitted from his ear all the way down, left his body tingling and slightly damp. Embarrassed and annoyed, his face flushed red like a halved sweet watermelon.

Han Mingxiu dropped his playful expression and clasped Xia Ye’s hand, gently wrapping it in his own. His gaze grew serious as he looked into Xia Ye’s shy eyes. “I’ll find out the reason behind your anger and reflect on my mistakes so I won’t make them again. Then I’ll love you even more, spoil you even more—until you have no reason to be upset.” He paused, smirking slightly as his hand caressed Xia Ye’s rear. “Or I’ll let you vent all your anger properly… and then compensate you afterward.”

Feeling his advances, Xia Ye’s heart wavered. “Your mind is filled with nothing but filth.” After over an hour of truce, the reprieve from their passions seemed short-lived. The pheromones in the bedroom air began to grow stronger again. Xia Ye shot Han Mingxiu a seductive side-eye and tried to climb off him.

“Where are you going?” Han Mingxiu pulled him back.

“To call room service,” Xia Ye replied, swatting away his hand. Thinking of the steak he hadn’t gotten to eat earlier, his irritation flared. “Honestly, you’re such a pig. I was already defenseless around you in the same room, and you still managed to suspect I might have someone else on my mind? I didn’t even get to eat dinner because of you. I’m starving.”

Xia Ye climbed off Han Mingxiu’s lap, his legs still slightly unsteady. Han Mingxiu supported him until he regained balance. As Xia Ye straightened his robe and moved to order food, Han Mingxiu explained while helping steady him. “It’s not that I thought you had someone else. Even if you did, you’d have every right to. It’s just… seeing you not wearing the Han family ring made me panic. I didn’t dare to assume you might still have feelings for me.”

Xia Ye threw him a glare before heading to the phone to re-order two meals. When he turned back, he noticed Han Mingxiu sitting there with a sly smile, exuding a mischievous air.

“What’s with you?” Xia Ye asked, baffled.

Han Mingxiu stood up, removed the used protection, tied it off, and tossed it into the trash. After grabbing a wet wipe to clean himself and throwing that away too, he slowly approached Xia Ye, his expression carrying a wicked smirk.

“I just did some self-reflection about making you mad again earlier,” he began. “And I realized that all my mistakes—big and small—stem from the same problem. I always jump to conclusions without asking you first. Whether it was about your pregnancy, Johnny, or just now with the ring, it’s all because of that.”

“And?” Xia Ye asked, sensing the dangerous glint in Han Mingxiu’s eyes and bracing for whatever was coming.

“So…” Han Mingxiu grinned mischievously. “Earlier, were you really mad enough to call for some comforting services?” As expected, he was here to hold him accountable. Completely naked, he strode toward Xia Ye with a swagger, shamelessly flaunting himself.

“What would you have done if someone had actually come up here, huh?” he pressed, pinning Xia Ye to him with one large hand on his waist. His playful interrogation betrayed a glimmer of amusement in his eyes, showing he’d already figured out the truth. He just wanted to hear Xia Ye admit it.

Xia Ye pursed his lips. “No one else would come,” he muttered reluctantly. “Doesn’t the entire front desk staff know that Xia Ye belongs to Han Mingxiu… as a good friend? I’m a distinguished guest of the Han family. If I really called for ‘comfort services,’ they’d probably report it immediately and send only the best Alpha over.” He threw Han Mingxiu a mock-aggrieved look, his eyes filled with deliberate grievance and undeniable allure. “Wouldn’t they?”

Han Mingxiu pulled him close, laughing heartily. “They would.” How could someone as clever as Xia Ye ever be replaced? After laughing, Han Mingxiu couldn’t help but sigh. “Sigh, what would I do without you? Without your help, I couldn’t even dream of winning you back.”

Xia Ye seized the opportunity to make a demand. “Then treat me better. Promise me that when I lose my temper, you’ll coax me instead of getting angry at me. Be more patient with me.”

Hearing this, Han Mingxiu frowned slightly. “You’ve already decided to love me again, so why are you still so insecure? You’re not going to lose it like that.”

“I don’t care,” Xia Ye insisted, his tone firm. “I’m just saying this upfront—if I ever act out, please tolerate me. Don’t get mad at me, and don’t keep your sadness bottled up on your own. Otherwise…”

“Otherwise, what?” Han Mingxiu teased, a mischievous glint in his eye.

“Otherwise…” Xia Ye’s expression turned serious, his voice equally grave. “We shouldn’t even start this again.”

Han Mingxiu lowered his gaze, staring at Xia Ye’s deeply conflicted face. Then, he leaned in for a kiss so deep it left Xia Ye breathless and wobbling on his feet. Pulling back, he asked with feigned seriousness, “You just had a sudden outburst. I treated it—are you feeling better now?”

Xia Ye glared at him in dissatisfaction, only to hear Han Mingxiu add sincerely, “If you’re not, I can treat you again.”

Unable to hold back, Xia Ye burst out laughing. “Alright, alright. I’m better now.” After a moment of thought, he shyly traced circles on Han Mingxiu’s abs with his fingers and asked in a soft voice, “But if I’m better, can I still ask for more treatment?”

Han Mingxiu nearly lost his composure and laughed. “Of course.” He kissed him again, this time so deeply that they almost rolled back onto the bed. Just as Han Mingxiu was about to pin Xia Ye down for more, the room’s doorbell rang.

Xia Ye, left weak all over by the kiss, used all his limbs to push Han Mingxiu toward the door. “Go get the food—I’m starving.”

Thankfully, Xia Ye’s glands were still somewhat dormant, allowing for longer intervals between their passionate episodes. This gave them enough time to properly enjoy their meal together and even take a shower afterward. Han Mingxiu had a few bottles of Château Mouton Rothschild sent up, and the two of them shared some wine before their drunken desires took over, spiraling into another round of entanglement until late at night.

Xia Ye entered his first night of heat, experiencing three episodes. Compared to his past heats, this one was relatively mild. Even so, Han Mingxiu was far from satisfied. For Xia Ye, however, it was overwhelming. After years of nearly nonexistent physical desires, he found himself thrown into the deep end with three consecutive heats, each one leaving him thoroughly ravished by Han Mingxiu. By the time the third episode began to burn through him, tears were already welling up in his eyes.

It wasn’t until he blinked his eyes open in the morning that he realized the night had finally passed.

Gentle light filtered through the white curtains of the guest room. Xia Ye was the first to wake. Nestled in the soft bedding, he shifted slightly. Thankfully, his body hadn’t fallen apart. Though tired, he was surprisingly free of the soreness he’d feared. Instead, he felt clean and refreshed, a faint scent of rose essential oil lingering on his skin. Even his underwear had been properly put on, suggesting that Han Mingxiu had carefully cleaned and massaged him before bed.

Sitting up, Xia Ye gazed at Han Mingxiu, still sound asleep beside him. His heart felt calm, with a hint of satisfaction and a tinge of disbelief.

For nearly seven years, their tangled emotions had caused nothing but pain. And now? With just one night, everything was resolved, and their relationship seemed to start anew? It felt almost too easy.

But what else could they do? A voice deep in Xia Ye’s heart asked: Seven years have already passed—how many more sets of seven years do we have in a lifetime?

Indeed, how many more could they afford to waste?

Sitting quietly on the bed, Xia Ye’s gaze lingered on Han Mingxiu’s sleeping face. His eyes traced every detail—the fine lines that had crept in over the years, the deeper furrow between his brows. That must mean he frowned often, didn’t it? From now on, he’d have to smile more. Like now, even asleep, he looked so handsome with a smile on his lips.

Xia Ye kept speaking to Han Mingxiu in his head, his silent thoughts seemingly loud enough to wake him. Finally, Han Mingxiu stirred.

Still half-asleep, his hand reached out instinctively toward the scent of watermelon lingering nearby. When his fingers caught hold of Xia Ye’s hand, he sighed softly and pulled it into his embrace, intending to drift off again.

But Xia Ye tugged his hand free and slipped out of bed. Walking over to the table, he opened his wallet and pulled something out. By the time Han Mingxiu cracked his eyes open to see what Xia Ye was up to, the latter had already returned, standing over him with a mischievous grin.

Han Mingxiu lay there hugging the blanket, his messy hair and groggy expression utterly endearing. His bare back peeked out from the covers, accentuated by black briefs that didn’t fully hide the curve of his hips.

“Here.” Xia Ye handed him something. “Let’s settle last night’s bill.” He hooked his fingers into the waistband of Han Mingxiu’s briefs, slipped the object inside, and let go with a snap, grinning at the soft sound it made against Han Mingxiu’s skin. “I didn’t have a hundred-dollar bill, though…”

Han Mingxiu raised a brow, half-amused, half-exasperated. “You actually gave me something?” Reaching into his waistband, he pulled out the crumpled item, expecting cash.

    Instead, it was a check.

And not just any check—it was that check. The one he had drunkenly written three years ago for a million yuan, the one filled with ridicule and spite.

Han Mingxiu froze, staring at the check, utterly speechless. Xia Ye, all this time… He had kept it? Carried it with him everywhere?

Han Mingxiu scratched his head awkwardly. “Well… uh… I don’t exactly have change for this.”

Xia Ye crossed his arms, his expression a mix of amusement and exasperation. “Then what should we do? I suppose I’ll just have to keep it?”

Han Mingxiu’s eyes gleamed with mischief as he leaned in. “You could always use it to hire me instead. This sum is more than enough to book me for ten thousand nights.”

“And after ten thousand nights?” Xia Ye teased, raising a brow.

Han Mingxiu’s voice softened, a hint of sincerity slipping through his playful tone. “After that, you’ll be my loyal client, and I’ll be entirely yours, free of charge.”

In a swift move, he pulled Xia Ye down onto the bed, pinning him underneath.

Xia Ye couldn’t help but laugh, though he feigned displeasure. “I feel like I’m getting the short end of this deal.”

Han Mingxiu pressed his hips against Xia Ye’s, a roguish grin spreading across his face. “Then it’s your loss—because I’m the one who’s winning.”

The air between them grew thick as Xia Ye’s heat cycle reignited. The scent of sweet watermelon and fresh pine filled the room again, clinging to them like an irresistible spell.

Rubbing his cheek against Han Mingxiu’s neck, Xia Ye murmured seductively, his tone a mix of mischief and allure. “You’ve already taken the money. Don’t tell me you’re not planning to deliver on the goods, Headliner Han…”

Han Mingxiu chuckled against Xia Ye’s skin, planting soft kisses along his collarbone. “Deliver? Oh, I’ll deliver. How could I not? It’s my honor, after all.”With that, they lost themselves in each other once more, the tension between them melting into passion as night turned to morning.
