by SpringlilaShin Tae-oh kept his mouth shut. Since what Se-hyun said was right, he had nothing to say.
“As soon as the admission process is complete…”
Se-hyun got up but was pulled back by his wrist and sat down again. Since he was made to sit back so abruptly, his body jolted a bit.
“Why… ”
He was about to ask why Shin Tae-oh grabbed him, but Shin Tae-oh’s hand touched his forehead, just like Se-hyun had done to him before. When the large hand passed over his forehead down to his eyelids, Se-hyun couldn’t even close his eyes.
“You’re burning up.”
Feeling his own forehead being touched, Se-hyun pulled his head back to escape the warmth that covered his forehead.
“It’s because I’m agitated.”
Because Ha Jin-seong had attacked the wrong person, and that person was him – it was unbelievable. But Shin Tae-oh shook his head and instead grabbed Se-hyun’s cheek, letting go of his forehead. Trying to cup both cheeks with one hand made it look like he was grasping Se-hyun’s whole face.
“Your face is all flushed. Come and lie down.”
“…Lie down?”
Se-hyun’s eyes looked at the space revealed as Shin Tae-oh half stood up. Accurately catching where Se-hyun’s gaze went, Shin Tae-oh shook his head.
“Not here, over there.”
While still holding Se-hyun’s face, Shin Tae-oh turned it slightly to the side.
“Let’s lie down together.”
“This is the emergency room.”
Se-hyun pursed his lips to show that it made no sense.
“It’s a place where urgent patients need to receive quick treatment.”
“Right. So you need to lie down.”
“Sir, do my words sound like a joke to you now?”
Se-hyun brushed Shin Tae-oh’s hand away completely. He treated the emergency room as if it was a playground.
“If you stay like that, your heat cycle will happen.”
“I’m sorry, but it’s still far off for my heat cycle to come.”
“No, it will happen.”
Shin Tae-oh was speaking with more confidence about the reactions occurring in Se-hyun’s body.
“My pheromones went in and couldn’t come out. You must have kept feeling hot but just didn’t realize it, right?”
Se-hyun had been storing heat in his body since last night. That’s why he couldn’t sleep well and kept lifting his coat to let the hot air out.
“It’s better to treat it quickly.”
“Then I’ll get treated and go on my own.”
“Ah. My secretary Ahn must be really comfortable around me now, making me repeat myself…”
“I’ll lie down.”
Sensing the annoyance creeping into Shin Tae-oh’s voice, Se-hyun immediately got up from the chair. And as he awkwardly sat down on the bed next to him, Shin Tae-oh smiled as if it was no big deal and called a nurse over.
When the doctor explained that the cycle would have occurred if it had been just a little bit late, Se-hyun held out the back of his hand without saying a word. Since it can take months for the cycle to return once disrupted, it was better to get treated properly now, so he received hormone injections and an IV drip similar to Shin Tae-oh’s treatment.
Now receiving similar treatment to Shin Tae-oh, Se-hyun stared at the ceiling and began accepting one by one the realities happening to him.
He ended up lying here because of getting caught up in Shin Tae-oh’s rut yesterday. What happened that morning in the bathroom was all natural biological process too.
But still feeling relieved that the heat wouldn’t happen after the IV and medicine, he slowly closed his eyes.
He thought he would get fired for revealing he was an omega, but instead people worried about him. His efforts to hide his nature felt like a distant past compared to how much had happened in the last three months rather than the previous three years.
‘The original story can’t be disrupted…’
Since things had already deviated from the original, he had to get it back on track…

“I fell asleep.”
He had spent the whole night awake, so he didn’t even realize when he fell asleep. Looking at the ceiling, he slowly raised his body and looked around.
It was dark and quiet, making him think it wasn’t the emergency room…
“Is it a single room?”
Or a VIP room?
There was only one bed nearby that he was lying on. He was going to hospitalize Shin Tae-oh, but wondering why he was the one who ended up being hospitalized, Se-hyun laughed a little and pushed aside the blanket that had come up to his stomach.
He had been lying down wearing his coat but woke up just in his shirt…
“He really undressed me thoroughly.”
Mumbling to himself while looking at his clothes hanging on the hanger, he turned his head to the door as a late thought struck him.
“If it’s Shin Tae-oh, he’d reserve a double room.”
Unless his heart went back to Yoo Jin-ha, he wouldn’t miss this opportunity. So why would he let Se-hyun stay alone?
Doubts piled upon doubts, and Se-hyun felt uneasy as he lay back down on the bed. Along with that, he heard the sound of the door carefully opening, so Se-hyun closed his eyes pretending to sleep.
He didn’t even know why he acted this way. He just thought he should lie down since he felt uneasy, and the sound of the door made him feel like he had to close his eyes.
Se-hyun tried to relax his face as he heard the footsteps getting closer. If a sleeping person keeps their eyes tightly shut, it was almost like saying, “I’m awake,” so he tried to be as natural as possible, even slightly parting his lips.
“Se-hyun-ssi.”
The voice that usually called him “Secretary Ahn” was calling his name.
“Ahn Se-hyun.”
Adding his full name in such a sweet tone that if Se-hyun wasn’t being cautious, he might have flinched.
“I want to tell you this not in a place like this, but somewhere a little nicer and prettier…”
Shin Tae-oh’s voice seemed to be moving slightly away and then coming back, indicating that he was looking somewhere else.
“My heart keeps racing, and it gives me headaches. I thought I’d die if I didn’t tell you.”
Isn’t it strange to say this to a sleeping person? Se-hyun pondered if he should just pretend to wake up, thinking Shin Tae-oh wouldn’t say anything.
“I like you, An Se-hyun.”
Se-hyun held his breath at Shin Tae-oh’s confession.
“I like you Ahn Se-hyun, but I can’t ask you to love me. I made a lot of mistakes.”
Shin Tae-oh’s confession was filled with regret rather than excitement.
“What I regret most is that you, Secretary Ahn, were always the one delivering gifts meant for Jin-ha. What were you thinking every time I gave my heart to someone else?”
It was hilariously fun?
“I shouldn’t have done that. I wasn’t asking Secretary Ahn to use the items that were rejected and should have been thrown away. How did you feel having to use things someone else rejected every time…”
It was a great benefit?
It was just nice. Having gloves kept him warm, and having coffee made mornings enjoyable.
“That’s why I couldn’t confess that I like you. I felt shameless.”
‘So that’s why.’
No wonder Shin Tae-oh had been looking off since giving Yoo Jin-ha’s gift last time. Se-hyun thought his heart was wavering after receiving Jin-ha’s gift, but it seemed Shin Tae-oh realized he had wronged him instead.
‘Now, his feelings toward Yoo Jin-ha have been completely resolved.’
Se-hyun sighed inwardly. He said he liked him, but Se-hyun couldn’t smile.
This wasn’t right. He was already troubled because Ha Jin-seong was acting weird, causing the original storyline to deviate, and now Shin Tae-oh was acting strange too.
And the problem was that Se-hyun was flustered yet moved by Shin Tae-oh’s confession.
“I will apologize and repay you in the future.”
Even though he didn’t really do anything wrong, Shin Tae-oh still apologized.
“There won’t be any more occasions where you handle gifts I give to someone else, Se-hyun-ssi.”
Se-hyun-ssi, Ahn Se-hyun, Secretary Ahn… Shin Tae-oh kept switching between the different ways to address him.
Se-hyun felt Shin Tae-oh’s hand touching his hair along with his words that were nothing short of a resolution. The touch on his cheek conveyed affection toward him.
“I like Ahn Se-hyun a lot.”
The lingering warmth from where his hand passed left a new heat building in Se-hyun’s reignited body. If this was going to happen, getting the IV was pointless.
“I really like you a lot. Will you accept me if I confess?”
At Shin Tae-oh’s soft voice, Se-hyun clenched the fist hidden under the blanket tightly. His heart, tickled by the confession, started pounding heavily now. It felt like the heartbeat would be audible to Shin Tae-oh at this rate, making Se-hyun wish he would just finish confessing.
“Now I can give you a gift right away and be nice to you. I can give you all the dishes.”
‘Are you talking about the four dishes I have in my house?’
Why bring up dishes here? If he’s going to keep mentioning them, he should just take them.
“I’m confident that I will only look at Ahn Se-hyun for the rest of my life, so can’t you just look at me once?”
Se-hyun regretted pretending to sleep as Shin Tae-oh’s confession monologue continued.
“I really like you.”
“…”
“I like you.”
“…”
“…Should I say it again when you open your eyes?”
“…”
What?
“If you want, I can say it a hundred, a thousand times. If that’s what you wish, you can keep your eyes closed too.”
Shin Tae-oh asked a question that required an answer.
Of course, as someone pretending to sleep, Se-hyun couldn’t say anything… but he felt Shin Tae-oh’s hand passing over his closed eyes.
“I’m waiting for Se-hyun to be so moved by my confession that you wake up. I’ll have my arms open, ready to embrace you.”
Even though he knew Se-hyun was awake, Shin Tae-oh confessed as if he was talking to himself…
‘You’re scheming till the end.’
This sneaky cat.
