Cole lay on the black marble floor, simply turning to face Lin You. With his movement, the sound of clanking chains echoed from within the glass walls.

Not only were his wrists, ankles, and neck tightly bound by chains, but his face was also encircled by a metal ring that covered his lips and nose. A sturdy iron bar surrounded his entire jaw, secured by a lock fastened tightly at the back of his head.

This was the Restraint Muzzle that he and Xia Zuo had placed on Cole, which could only be unlocked with Lin You’s fingerprint. If he attempted to remove it himself, a tiny bullet hidden beneath his jaw would shoot into Cole’s head, simultaneously triggering a bomb strapped to his throat.

“When you were asleep, your breathing slowed down. Next time you want to pretend to be asleep, remember to slow it down a bit more,” Lin You said flatly.

Cole turned his head, resting on his arm, offering no particular response. He merely raised an eyebrow, locking his gaze onto Lin You.

For a brief moment, the golden light shimmering in the halo around him resembled fragmented sunlight spilling onto the shores of a Californian lake, the rippling water a clear blend of yellow and blue, sparkling with a hint of contemplation.

But it was just a fleeting moment; Cole suddenly broke into a wide grin. When he laughed, not only did his upper teeth show, but the tops of his lower teeth were also visible, carrying a teasing and mocking tone, wild and chaotic, as if the clarity of the previous moment was merely an illusion.

“Honey—” Cole’s eyes widened, looking round and bright, continuing in a sweet, sultry tone, “You must really like me; otherwise, how could you tell I was pretending to sleep?”

“You were just staring at me, so what do you think? Am I handsome?”

Lin You sighed, ignoring his question.

“I’m just here to let you know that we will be going to Gowei City together. So, do you have anything else to say? If not, I’ll be leaving.”

    “No, Honey.”

“And how can you guarantee that I will protect your safety?” Cole blinked innocently, delighting in the way Lin You’s brows furrowed, a barely perceptible smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

“Even if you lose your hands and feet, you can still bleed for me,” Cole chuckled, mimicking a hand gesture at his shoulders. “Just imagine, Honey, how cute it would be to see you wriggling on the ground without hands and feet.”

Lin You inhaled deeply, saying softly, “You think Reid wouldn’t dare to kill you, do you?”

“Right here.” Lin You tilted his head, revealing a section of his neck beneath the gray turtleneck, pointing to his left jaw, where Cole’s numerical code was located. “There’s a bomb buried there. If I don’t return to Reid successfully in three days, they will blow you up.”

    “Reid’s bomb-planting skills have always been top-notch, haven’t they?”

“You think I’m afraid?” Cole laughed, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “And isn’t it you, Honey, who wants to kill me the most? Weren’t you just pointing a gun at my head?”

Lin You was momentarily taken aback by his words but didn’t feel particularly guilty, merely raising a dismissive smile. “You noticed?”

“How unfair.” Cole pouted, looking down at the floor, like a girl disappointed by her boyfriend’s broken promise. “I value my promises with you, Honey. Wanting to kill me is just too much.”

Cole lowered his voice, lifting his gaze from the floor. “Why, Honey?”

“Why point a gun at my head?”

His eyes gazed deeply into Lin You’s, slightly widening, his expression cold and trembling like ice.

“You’d better speak quickly while I’m in a good mood.”

Lin You’s gaze turned icy. “Does the reason really matter?”

“Heh.” Cole scoffed. “I can be your obedient little puppy, Honey, but even the most well-behaved pet shouldn’t be killed just because the owner is in a bad mood. You’re so unpredictable; how can I trust you?”

“Are you suggesting… I should strike first to ensure you can’t think about killing me anymore?” Cole teased, lifting the thick iron chain around his neck, gazing at it with fascination. “How about I tie you up with these chains?”

“I won’t hurt you too much; I just want to taste a little of your blood. More than that, I want to fuck you every day, to the point of making you bleed, to ruin your hole until you obey.”

Lin You suddenly felt a chill at the back of his neck, turning his face away, remaining silent.

Cole chuckled softly, crawling toward Lin You on his elbows and knees, continuing to laugh as he said:

“You don’t think I can’t get out of here, do you?”

Cole tilted his head, smiling brightly. “You can try, Honey.”

The two locked eyes again, neither speaking further.

The laboratory fell silent, the only sound being the hum of the air conditioning.

Lin You couldn’t help but lower his head, cradling his head in frustration, letting out an irritated click of his tongue.

“What does it matter to you? Whether I want to kill you or escape, that’s my own business.”

He irritably leaned back against the chair, lowering his gaze, pulling out a cigarette from his chest pocket and lighting it.

When he raised his gaze again, amidst the flickering red flame and swirling white smoke, he saw Cole smiling once more.

“Are you scared?” Cole laughed, shaking his head as if watching a child throw a tantrum. “Just kidding, I wouldn’t want to treat you like that, Honey.”

“Who’s scared?” Lin You took a barely noticeable breath, removing the cigarette. “If I die in some corner of Gowei City tomorrow, you won’t get to eat me.”

“You won’t die.” Cole chuckled lightly.

“I’ll find you before those lowly creatures can kill you.”

“I’ll protect you, Honey.” Cole tilted his head, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “After all, you are my master.”

Lin You scoffed, lowering his head, placing the cigarette back to his lips, casually retorting, “Protect? Just control your thirst for blood; don’t drain me dry.”

Cole elegantly leaned forward, sitting on the floor without wearing pants or underwear beneath his hospital gown, yet he propped up one knee, exposing himself completely.

“How does Honey know I can’t control myself?” He tilted his head against his knee, laughing boldly.

“I can control my desires just as well as I control that thing of mine.”

Lin You clicked his tongue, ultimately unable to resist glancing down at Cole, frowning slightly before meeting Cole’s teasing gaze again.

“Heh.” Cole knew Lin You had just looked, so he shifted his legs, his long legs unable to stand up properly due to the tight chains around his ankles, merely adjusting the position of his knee.

But the beast lying between his legs moved in response to his actions, pressing against his thigh.

“Honey, do you like it?” Cole fearlessly displayed himself. “Want to give it a try?”

“Very ugly.” Lin You propped his head up, meeting his gaze with exasperation. “Put it away, or I’ll cut it off.”

“How could that be? I’m so good-looking, even my genitals are attractive.” Cole lifted his shirt, kneeling on the floor with his legs spread wide, cradling himself. “Look closely, Honey.”

Lin You had no interest in admiring; he only felt distressed.

“What are you doing?” Lin You irritably looked away. “Put it away, Cole.”

“Honey.” Cole’s voice suddenly became very close. Lin You looked up to find Cole pressed against the wall in front of him, his mouth near the small hole meant for the gun, speaking in a low, husky voice. “I want to fuck you; one day, I will.”

Lin You glared at him in anger, but he couldn’t deny that gaze brought an invisible pressure.

    “Enough, Cole—”

This time, looking at Cole made Lin You regret it.

Because in his line of sight, that beast slowly raised its head.

Awakened, its size became even more astonishing.

“Haah, Honey—” Cole gripped his erect member with both hands, biting his clothing, moaning incoherently. “I’m hard.”

His face flushed slightly, teasing Lin You with a seductive gaze. “You’ve been staring at me, so Honey has to take responsibility.”

Seeing Lin You’s dazed expression, Cole became even more excited, unable to resist slowly grinding his hips, stopping forcefully at a certain point, as if thrusting into something, while moans escaped his throat, the sound of his member slapping against his palm echoing throughout the space.

    He was watching himself masturbate.

Lin You’s blank mind suddenly registered this, and he stood up, angrily slamming his hand on the table, causing the cigarette in his hand to fall to the floor.

He picked up the gun from the table, aiming it at the small hole, directly at Cole’s lips. His gaze was piercing, his voice equally cold. “Cole Martinez, I warn you again.”

“What are you warning me about?” Cole laughed fearlessly, still gripping himself tightly, extending his rosy tongue to lightly lick the gun’s muzzle. “Are you suggesting—do you want my gun down there?”

This time, Lin You’s expression darkened completely. Without saying a word, he threw the chair and walked out.
