TWP 14: Two pump chump?
by CherryWhen he regained consciousness, it was the sound of raindrops that woke him.
Tiny droplets of rain fell from the sky, pattering against Lin You’s face.
He must have been thrown out of the vehicle, as he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder from hitting the stone wall, and his head was also throbbing, likely from a blow to the left side of his forehead. His face felt not only sticky but also reeked of blood; dried blood trickled into his left eye, causing him to squint in pain.
Every part of Lin You’s body screamed in agony, and he could only lie there, gasping for breath. His glasses had long been flung away, leaving his vision blurry. His ears felt as if they were submerged in water, and the nearby screams of people and the hissing roars of Zombies became indistinct.
A few raindrops clung to his long eyelashes, which fluttered slightly as he lifted his gaze. The droplets slowly trickled down his cheeks, leaving streaks alongside the other water marks.
He felt a sharp pain in his abdomen and struggled to lift his head for a glance. Sure enough, the wound on his left side had been torn open by the violent impact, blood seeping out and staining his gray sweater.
“Shit.”
He took a breath and cursed softly, lying back down, not daring to check further. His whole body ached, but at least he still felt pain; he considered himself lucky that being thrown from the vehicle hadn’t resulted in broken limbs.
Everything had happened too suddenly; he hadn’t yet realized what was going on.
Then he recalled that the bridge leading to Gowei City and Newo City had been blown up just as they were crossing.
He struggled to get up, propping himself up with his still-dizzy head to look back at the bridge, which had collapsed completely. The cries for help from people floated in the air, stirring up echoes of despair.
Aside from the deafening screams reverberating in the valley, the worst part was that he couldn’t see the situation clearly.
He squinted, trying to focus and look around. He saw the wreckage of the vehicle nearby, and Kay had just emerged from it, pulling Vian out. From Lin You’s angle, he could only see a soldier’s hand reaching out from the crushed driver’s seat through the window.
Just freed, Xia Zuo was looking around and seemed to shout something upon spotting Lin You, but Lin You couldn’t hear clearly.
Because there were still some citizens who had just escaped the bridge nearby, some clinging to the wreckage of buildings, desperately calling for help. However, the loud noises and the scent of blood attracted the Zombies, and the rising chorus of screams, curses, gunfire, and pleas assaulted Lin You’s eardrums.
Xia Zuo approached him with a relieved expression, but his hand seemed injured as he supported his left arm, staggering.
Lin You endured the pain and tried to support himself against the stone wall to stand up.
“Bang──!”
But not far behind them, another vehicle was detonated. Lin You felt a wave of heat sweep over him as he was thrown away, the explosive sound crashing into his brain and eardrums. After a while, he realized he was being held in a warm embrace, which had saved him from crashing into the rock wall again.
The person holding him was moving quickly, bouncing up and down, making his head spin.
After a moment, he opened his eyes and lifted his head, only to find that it was Cole holding him. He was tightly embraced by Cole as they ran, and they had just come to a stop.
Cole’s chest rose and fell rapidly as he looked down at him, his golden eyes unusually devoid of mockery and playfulness, replaced instead by a solemn expression.
“Lin You, don’t leave my side for now,” Cole said seriously. “The Zombies are gathering here because of the explosion.”
Seeing Cole’s expression, Lin You felt a bit at a loss for how to respond and could only nod dully.
In his hazy consciousness, he sensed that the wound on his forehead seemed to have been reopened, pain and stickiness flowing down. He thought he heard Kay and another female guard, Vian, shouting, along with Xia Zuo’s commanding voice.
The noise made his head spin unbearably, and he forced himself to open his eyes.
“…What are you doing?”
As his awareness gradually returned, Lin You saw that he was safely cradled by Cole against a rock, with the shattered, burning vehicle below them, and two or three bodies of American soldiers being gnawed on by Zombies. It was hard to tell how many bodies there were, as they were scattered in different places, with five arms but only two heads, and three people cornered by numerous Zombies, fighting desperately with their remaining ammunition.
Seeing this scene, Lin You nearly spat out blood.
“What are you doing here?” Lin You felt an increase in pain in his head. “Go save them.”
Cole’s cold, deep gaze fell, “Why?”
This question darkened Lin You’s expression, but it also caused Cole’s previously serious demeanor to suddenly take on a playful tone.
“They are attracted by your blood, Honey.”
“And Honey, our deal doesn’t include protecting anyone other than you.” Cole smirked, tilting Lin You’s chin up. “I’m saving you because I still want to drink your blood.”
Lin You looked at Cole but couldn’t find the words to respond.
Cole was indeed right; Lin You understood that he had no right to demand Cole save those people.
“…It would be troublesome without them,” Lin You said, coughing a few times to catch his breath before continuing, “You remember, you have to send me back to Reid in three days.”
“I can do that myself.” Cole pretended to ponder, then suddenly smiled as if realizing something, leaning closer to Lin You’s ear and speaking in a low, husky voice, “It seems that the person who would be troublesome without them is Honey, right?”
Lin You’s lowered gaze revealed obvious impatience, and he seemed to forget that he was currently without his glasses.
Seeing Lin You’s unabashed disgust, Cole knew Lin You was cursing him in his heart, and a smile couldn’t help but spread across his lips.
“So what are you going to do in this situation, Honey?”
Lin You could only helplessly turn his face away and close his eyes. He took a deep breath, as if making a decision, and turned back, “What should I do for you to save them?”
Cole laughed, and Lin You could even feel his body trembling.
Then Lin You felt more than just trembling.
Because sitting on Cole’s lap, he could feel a hot, hard object pressing against his backside.
He knew what Cole wanted.
He wasn’t the heroine of a shoujo manga or a romantic movie, shocked into hitting or scolding Cole, or playfully bantering with a hint of shyness.
Lin You merely scoffed, “You’re pretty disgusting.”
Cole leaned down, pressing the cold bite guard against Lin You’s face, “Honey, why not give it a try? The more disgusting… the happier it will be.”
“Now isn’t the time; they can’t hold out much longer.” Lin You pushed against his chest. “I’ll give it to you later, but not now.”
“You’ve never fulfilled that promise, so I can’t wait this time.”
Cole tilted his head, his fingers pulling open Lin You’s collar, whispering in a teasing tone, “Honey, really, just use your mouth.”
Lin You narrowed his eyes in silence, his voice barely a whisper, as his fingers traced down Cole’s chest, “If you’re a two pump chump, I can help you lick; I don’t mind how many times.”
Cole narrowed his eyes, not angry but rather excited. Lin You enjoyed the momentary verbal sparring, and he didn’t mind teaching Lin You how to break that bad habit.
His fingers gently glided over Lin You’s cheek as Cole said, “Honey, that doesn’t seem like a very submissive attitude.”
“This time I won’t back down. So, what will you choose to do?”
