KYB Ch 9
by LuluYe Woo-won blinked. For a moment, he didn’t know how to respond and just sat there with his hands resting on the keyboard.
This person’s attitude was really… how should he put it… um…
‘It feels like he’s only acting like this to me.’
Seeing Kisekki act overly hostile, Ye Woo-won was about to type in chat to ask if he had done something wrong.
(Guild) Kisekki: Shut up, born single
Ye Woo-won quietly deleted his message.
Kisekki acted the same way toward any other people.
(Guild) ITrustCactus: hey don’t cry😭😭what’s so sad about that😭
(Guild) LifeIsSolo: 😭no way 😭you too?😭😭😭😭
(Guild) ITrustCactus: n-noo😭😭😭😭
From the chat, it seemed Kisekki was rough with everyone.
(Guild) Kisekki: kick him out
Kisekki walked past Yewoo Beomjeol’s dead body and approached no.10, who stood frozen.
Ye Woo-won blinked and looked toward Kisekki.
(Guild) no.10: y-…😭😭😭y…😭😭😭y..😭
(Guild) Kisekki: ha oh, are you saying sorry for bringing in a dumb newbie?
(Guild) Kisekki: it’s fine, we all help each other, right? haha
(Guild) no.10: 😭😭😭. you…you crazy bastard….
(Guild) no.10: 😭😭😭;;what the hell are you even talking about;;😭😭😭
(Guild) no.10: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
(Guild) Nyamnyangi: 유ㅅ유 guildmaster’s crying again cuz of Demon-kki… ㅇㅅu
Then no.10, still typing crying emoji, rushed toward the spot where Yewoo Beomjeol’s avatar lay dead.
(Guild) Yewoo Beomjeol: yes, I’m fine.
After all, it was just an in-game avatar’s death. And honestly, it was kind of fun. Even so, no.10 hovered nervously beside Yewoo Beomjeol’s corpse.
(Guild) no.10: shut up😭😭 he’s an amazing tank, why are you like this😭😭😭
(Guild) no.10: we don’t even have a tank and we need one😭😭 when we were discussing how to recruit this Dragon Knight in guild chat😭😭😭 why you didn’t even 😭😭😭 say anything;;😭😭
(Guild) Kisekki: I didn’t answer, so it doesn’t count
(Guild) no.10: 😭come on;😭
(Guild) Kisekki: kick him out
(Guild) no.10: why are you acting like this;;😭 (Guild) Kisekki: what’s the point of keeping a paper-thin tank like that, kick him out
Ye Woo-won rested his chin on his hand and blinked at the chat window. Kisekki wanted to kick him, and the guildmaster didn’t. Kisekki’s reasoning was simple.
‘So basically, he doesn’t want me because I’m weak.’
The resurrection cooldown had ended, but Ye Woo-won didn’t click the revive button. Instead, he checked the guild info window.
Kisekki held the rank of Officer, and no.10 was the Guild Master. Maybe that’s why the Master seemed hesitant.
‘If that’s the case…’
Quietly watching the scene, Ye Woo-won pressed Revive. Most of the attention was still on the argument between no.10 and Kisekki, so few noticed him.
He subtly moved his character. Then, above Kisekki’s head, who was heatedly chatting—
(Guild) ITrustCactus: ???????????????????
Ye Woo-won hurled a massive greatsword.
Kisekki himself didn’t take the hit, but no.10 beside him showed a startled expression after getting hit instead. Of course, since the area they were in wasn’t a PVP zone, neither no.10 nor Kisekki actually lost any HP.
Kisekki let out a scoffing emote, as if in disbelief, then quickly started typing.
But Kisekki had overlooked something.
At Nyamnyangi’s comment, Kisekki looked down—and froze.
‘Since when?’
Kisekki’s character had stepped inside the PVP zone boundary. Meaning…
You have targeted Kisekki!
Ye Woo-won’s earlier attack had been a feint.
He had copied the exact meaningless strike Kisekki once used to lure Yewoo Beomjeol into the PVP zone. And once a player is marked as a target, PVP mode remains even if they step out of the zone.
(Guild) HurtMePlease: what’s going on? I saw the tag and ran over.
(Guild) Kongkang: omg round two omg (grab popcorn)
Kisekki froze in surprise. Ye Woo-won didn’t miss the opening.
Kisekki, whose feet had been bound by Ye Woo-won, seemed to snap back to his senses and tried to move.
But it was too late.
Instantly, the PVP zone turned pitch-black. The air grew dense with shadow as Yewoo Beomjeol vanished, and from the darkness, a huge silhouette began to emerge.
(Guild) DPSdrop: not a mob…
(Guild) Kongkang: no no no
Since there were so few Dragon Knights left, most players didn’t even know what their skills looked like. Some guildmates mistook that for a mob, but those who remembered Yewoo Beomjeol’s customization knew better.
The Dragon Knight, draped in dragon scales, broke through the black mist and revealed himself fully. His greatsword burned with a fiery glow before descending vertically toward Kisekki’s head.
There was no escape. Kisekki’s feet were bound in a swamp, and the air was filled with health-draining dark mist.
Kisekki has been slain by Yewoo Beomjeol.
A message popped up announcing that Yewoo Beomjeol had killed Kisekki.
“…”
The guild chat, which had been loud just seconds ago, fell silent. It was because the fight had ended before Kisekki could even strike once, and it had all happened in an instant.
After a short pause, Kisekki finally typed.
(Guild) Kisekki: lolol
(Guild) Kisekki: lololololol
The chat filled only with Kisekki’s disbelieving laughter. Yewoo Beomjeol brushed his hands after seeing the PVP ended notification. It might’ve been a sneaky duel, but everyone knew Kisekki had no right to complain.
After all, he’d attacked without warning first, too. Yewoo Beomjeol walked up to Kisekki’s corpse.
Ye Woo-won picked up a defence potion Kisekki had dropped and held it out toward his fallen body.
(Guild) Yewoo Beomjeol: And, how about we make it a clean best-of-three match to settle things properly?
He had no intention of mocking him. Ye Woo-won only wanted to defeat Kisekki and earn his place in the guild.
‘If we end it fair and square, he won’t complain after that.’
Knowing Kisekki’s aggressive nature, Ye Woo-won believed he’d accept the final round.
(Guild) ITrustCactus: tremble tremble
(Guild) Kongkang: @@argh….
But—
He never imagined he’d look like the villain.
