    Kisekki X YewooBeomjeol

    by Lulu

“Wow, babe! I’ve missed you, you know?”

God of Water Veil—an MMORPG played by one out of every five Koreans. Before I suddenly quit the game for personal reasons, there was always one guildmate I couldn’t seem to stop getting tangled up with.

[(Necromancer) Kisekki: lol, what’s with those hands? Did your fingers break or something?]

[(Dragon Knight) Yewoo Beomjeol: I’m sorry. I’ll try harder next time.]

Worst first impression, worst compatibility. He did everything he could to kick me out. However…

“Wanna get married? I can really treat you well.”

“You crazy bastard…! Shut up. Die. Just die.”

If we became close, maybe I wouldn’t have to leave the guild, right? Thanks to my stubborn persistence, I somehow managed to stay.

But in the end, we fought, and I quit the game. Then, when I came back—

“So my babe’s cozying up with another guy now?”

Why is actor Ki Se-hwa standing right in front of me? And they said his nickname was the Angel…

    ‘Did they mean demon instead?’

How could eyes that deranged belong to an angel?

Top: Ki Se-hwa (Kisekki / DPS) A national actor famous for his angelic looks and personality. But in-game, he’s a complete loose cannon—an unstoppable chaos of a man. His once-peaceful gaming life begins to spiral the moment a crazy Dragon Knight appears before him.

Bottom: Ye Woo-won (Yewoo Beomjeol / Tank) A real-life tank who doesn’t take damage no matter what nonsense is thrown his way. He smiles even when people try to provoke him, earning the occasional “pushover” label — yet he can’t stand by when others are wronged. He stands strong against the powerful and gentle toward the weak. Lately, he’s found endless amusement following a certain Necromancer he met in-game.

Read this when: You want to see the chaotic back-and-forth between a Top who’s great at arguing and a Bottom who has zero talent for it.

    Quote to remember:

[Kisekki: “I’m Ye Woo-won’s husband, you know.”]

    TL’s Note:

This story contains a lot of Internet and gaming slang. I’ll try to translate them as accurately as possible and include cultural or language notes where necessary. However, please don’t expect me to explain every general gaming term—otherwise, the footnotes would be longer than the story itself.

Feel free to read the footnotes if you want more context for the jokes and comedic nuances, but you don’t need them to understand the main story.

    First of all…

    1. The Korean title of this story is 기세끼의 예우범절 (Gise-kki-ui Yewoo Beomjeol).
Literally, it reads “Kisekki’s Yewoo Beomjeol.” Aside from referencing their in-game nicknames, the phrasing also carries a double meaning—grammatically, it can be interpreted as “Yewoo Beomjeol belonging to Kisekki.” This subtle nuance ties into the story’s Possessive Top keyword.

To explain further, Yewoo Beomjeol combines the MC’s real name with a Korean phrase meaning “The Proper Manners.” In that sense, the title can also be understood as “The Proper Manners of Kisekki.”

That said, I’ve chosen to follow the author’s own phrasing and use the title Kisekki x YewooBeomjeol, since it reflects both the characters’ relationship dynamic and the layered meaning behind the names.

For context, Kisekki (기세끼) is the ML’s in-game nickname. It’s a combination of his real name, Gi Se-hwa/Ki Se-hwa —same words, different romanji, I used the international one—, and the Korean curse word 개새끼 (gaesaekki), meaning “son of a bitch.” It’s a fitting nickname for someone whose angelic public image hides such a sharp and chaotic personality.

    2. Many of the in-game nicknames are Korean puns. I’ve translated the ones that can make sense in English, but I’ve kept the original Korean for those that lose their wordplay in translation.

All of these are my best interpretations based on the nuances of Korean slang and wordplay. I might get a few of them wrong, but I’m doing my best to preserve the humor and tone. And honestly… Internet slang is the bane of my existence. 😭😭😭
