Unmoor
After obtaining information that the uncle who stole his position as head of the family is colluding with a notorious pirate crew,
Astric infiltrates the pirates in order to drag him down.
However, life as a pirate is far from easy, and the gaze of Captain Valerius, who keeps a close watch on him, is anything but ordinary…
.
.
.
“…I’m not Ente. I’m Astric Millard. My… real name.”
“So you’re Astric Millard, then.”
Even after Astric’s confession, Valerius continued to look down at him with an expression that gave nothing away.
Unable to endure the prolonged silence, Astric spoke first.
“I’m sorry for deceiving you all this time. Truly… from the bottom of my heart.”
When Valerius gave no response at all, Astric moved his lips once more.
“When I return to the Millard family, I’ll resolve everything. The conflict between the pirates and the navy, and the matters involving the captains as well, as much as I possibly can….”
Valerius, who had been listening in silence, sharply furrowed his brow.
“Who do you think you are.”
“…What?”
“Who do you think you are, trying to fix all of that.”
Valerius’s previously lukewarm gaze had turned icy at some point.
He looked at Astric with a face seemingly overtaken by anger.
His golden eyes gleamed fiercely, like those of a beast one might see in the dead of night.
Overwhelmed by the pressure of that stare, Astric unconsciously stumbled backward, trying to distance himself from Valerius.
But a hand suddenly shot out, gripping Astric’s chin tightly and yanking him forward.
“Ugh.”
“Don’t even think about doing anything unnecessary. Stay put and keep yourself stuck on the Scepter.”
“What are you….”
Astric struggled to pry Valerius’s painfully tight grip from his chin,
but the hand did not budge easily.
“How dare you.”
Valerius, his face rigid, looked as though he were about to continue speaking, then shut his mouth.
Perhaps even he did not know exactly what had made him so angry, for he could only glare at Astric with a complicated, unreadable expression.
Then, the very next moment, Valerius, his face twisted, lunged forward as if to devour him, and pressed his lips against Astric’s fiercely.
Will Astric be able to safely bring his life aboard the Scepter to an end and reclaim his rightful place?
