RCKS 0 – PROLOGUE
by soapaThis is the story of a boy and a boy who met every vacation.
One boy fell in love. It was an event that everyone must go through at some point in their life, and it was also something as vicious as a high fever.
However, the difference from other events was the fact that the boy did not know the timing or the cause of falling in love. In other words, it meant it was an incident like an accident that could not be prevented.
Yes, this love that happened to the boy suddenly one day without knowing the cause or reason was closer to an inevitable accident than romance or excitement.
And to talk about this love that is like such an accident, one must go back to a very distant past. It is from the point when the boy’s adoptive parents met.
The boy’s adoptive parents met at a camping gathering. In an era when camping as a hobby was relatively less popular, it started with backpacking trips begun under the influence of romance, and then they went camping by mountains or riversides. They met at a campsite by a provincial riverside, where they exchanged sausages and potatoes, their eyes met, and from there they went through dating and straight to marriage.
After that, the wife, who had made friends at the Mizcam gatherings she attended whenever her schedule did not match with her spouse’s, suggested couple-accompanying camping, and afterward, they began to occasionally gather with other like-minded couples and go camping together.
The couple-accompanying camping gathering, which they initially thought would fizzle out after a year, continued for quite a long time and very closely. It was possible because the dispositions or financial situations of the couples participating in camping were all similar. They resided in different regions from each other, but because of that, they exchanged contacts even more closely. They also participated in periodic camping gatherings and events like festivals operated by camping supply stores or brands. As a result, it was natural for particularly close couples to form.
The couple became close with an alpha-beta couple who created a gentle and warm atmosphere by never missing a single gathering and always attending. They were a couple consisting of an alpha male and a beta female, and they were the type who preferred remote-area camping.
Since the couple who would become the boy’s adoptive parents consisted of an alpha female and an omega female, they had an understanding of minority traits and were thus particularly comfortable partners. They became close slowly over a period of about five years, and they became pregnant around the same time.
The side that became pregnant first was the alpha male and beta female couple. They became pregnant a year earlier, and when the baby in their womb reached seven months, the other side also announced the news of their pregnancy. The protagonist of that announcement was the very boy mentioned above.
The two couples made a promise half in jest while the children were still in their wombs. They promised that once the children were born, they would raise them as friends and later have them marry. It would be good for preventing conflicts between sons-in-law or between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, they said. Moreover, since the economic situations of the two families were similar, it was a promise set aside from the children’s own wishes.
However, when the child who was pregnant first was born, and afterward, the gender of the boy who was still in the womb was revealed, the promise ended up fizzling out. It was because the born child was a boy, and the boy in the womb was also revealed to be male when the doctor subtly gave a hint about it being a little prince.
Even so, the two couples were not disappointed. The child born a year earlier was only lovable, and the boy born a few months later was also only very cute.
Even though the one-year-old child, who had been born a few months earlier and thus first witnessed the newborn, wrinkly little brother right after birth, cried as if the hospital would collapse, as though he had seen the ugliest thing in the world.
In any case, although the future of the two children born with the same gender could not be promised right away, as one-year-apart peers who were both boys, it could not have been a better condition for pairing them as friends.
So the two couples began to hold camping gatherings even more frequently from around the time when the children were born and started to walk. Unaware of what influence that gathering would have on the children’s future, in that way, the story of the boys began.
