    Chapter 106

Lee Nahyuk said he didn’t want to go to the hospital, but as soon as they stepped out of the house, Lee Kangil headed straight there.

It was just to make sure nothing serious had happened. Since Nahyuk had even coughed up blood this time, it was understandable that he would worry.

Nahyuk, without complaint, let himself be examined by his doctor.

Fortunately, the illness hadn’t worsened. Still, the doctor wanted him to come by more often, saying there was no harm in keeping a closer watch.

Nahyuk nodded obediently. His health was too important to avoid the hospital simply because he disliked it.

He thought it was a good idea to follow Kangil here. Hearing from the doctor that he was fine lifted the gloom that had been weighing him down.

It seemed Kangil had already considered that.

He must have been confident the doctor wouldn’t deliver bad news, which was why he brought him in.

Kangil didn’t seem to doubt that the new drug would be effective.

Once they left the hospital, the two agreed to spend the entire day together, just as Nahyuk had wanted.

But since neither of them had ever really spent time playing around before, they weren’t sure what to do.

“What do you usually do for fun?”

At Nahyuk’s question, Kangil, sitting quietly in the driver’s seat, answered.

    “Drinking or sex?”

    “……”

Nahyuk wondered where the serious man from that morning had gone.

Faced with such a blunt answer, he could only stare. Yet it didn’t make him dislike Kangil—if anything, it felt very much like him.

    “Sorry, I was too honest.”

Kangil even glanced at him as if checking for his reaction. This from the same man who never cared about anyone’s opinion and lived freely as he pleased.

Nahyuk suddenly realized how much he had changed. No, perhaps he only changed when he was with him.

He didn’t seem the type to act this way with anyone else.

And somehow, Nahyuk liked that. It felt like proof that Kangil’s confession was real.

    ‘I love you.’

That sweet confession, spoken in a moment when all he could think of was death, still echoed in his ears. The breath laced in those words, the accent, the air of that moment—everything remained vivid.

Even if time passed, the seasons changed, and they never saw each other again, he felt he would never forget.

Because he rarely forgot the things he wanted to remember. Because he wanted to remember, even after death.

“Hey… don’t stare at me like that.”

He must have been staring too much while thinking about Kangil’s confession, because the man looked awkward again, uncharacteristically so.

    “…Why?”

“Guess you forgot, but I confessed to you this morning. And it was my very first confession in my entire life.”

His ears flushed red as he turned his head, embarrassed.

Kangil buried his face against the arm resting on the steering wheel, unable to lift it easily—as if his face was just as red as his ears.

“I didn’t forget. I was actually thinking about it just now.”

“Why were you thinking about it?”

    “Because I liked it?”

    “……”

Kangil fell silent at Nahyuk’s honest reply.

After a pause, he finally lifted his face. As expected, his cheeks were faintly red.

Perhaps it stood out even more because his skin was so pale it was almost white.

Nahyuk gazed at that face, thinking he wanted to remember it for the rest of his life as well.

Their eyes held for a long time. This time, Kangil didn’t look away as he confessed his true feelings.

“Next time, instead of just saying you liked it, I want you to tell me you love me too.”

It was a powerful line, one that made his heart tremble.

Nahyuk gave no answer, only smiled softly at him.

Was his heart trembling this much because he loved him?

Or was it because Kangil had told him he was loved, and his own feelings were simply following in step?

Instead of pressing for an answer, Kangil tilted his head. Warm breath brushed against him, and then their lips met briefly.

Perhaps because they had shared so many deep kisses before, this fleeting one felt unsatisfying.

As if reading his thoughts, Kangil spoke.

    “Should I keep going?”

There was no reason to hesitate in answering. Nahyuk wrapped his arms around Kangil’s neck and pressed his lips against his first.

The kiss began soft but deepened as their tongues entwined. Before he knew it, Kangil’s upper body had leaned over into the passenger seat, pressing Nahyuk down.

His breath came short, his body pinned tightly in place, and strangely, that only excited him more. He groaned, not once thinking of struggling free.

Even in the pressing closeness, Nahyuk cracked his eyes open to look at Kangil’s face.

A man tall and striking enough to stand out anywhere. A man who always carried a relaxed gaze.

A man whose habit was to tilt his chin slightly upward as if to look down on the world.

And yet, Nahyuk had recently discovered that when Kangil kissed, his face always turned a little impatient.

Sure enough, his brows were furrowed now, radiating an expression that something was missing. Perhaps he longed for more than kisses, the very thing Nahyuk had denied him before by falling asleep.

Nahyuk liked seeing that expression straining to hold back. It showed him just how sincere Kangil’s feelings were.

But that moment of leisure lasted only a heartbeat.

Kangil’s hand slipped easily beneath Nahyuk’s shirt, stroking over the dip of his stomach.

When that hand slowly moved upward and brushed against his nipple, a moan spilled out.

The sound escaped between parted teeth, and Kangil’s lips drew back just a little.

Panting hard, Nahyuk couldn’t tear his gaze away from the faint red at the corners of Kangil’s eyes. The heated act may have slowed, but even through his stare alone, chills shivered over Nahyuk’s skin, as if stripped bare.

Every time that bold gaze touched him, he felt as though he was already naked.

“What do I do, I like this too much.”

    “……”

As if forgetting he had just been kissing him so fiercely, Kangil now brushed gently over Nahyuk’s lips.

“…Ah, of course, it’s not that touching you makes me love you. Don’t misunderstand.”

    “Then what?”

“It’s because I’m touching the person I love.”

Now able to say the words “the person I love” without shame, Kangil gave a faint smile.

He smiled lazily and returned to his seat.

Nahyuk knew it was right to stop at kissing, especially considering the blood he had coughed earlier. Still, he couldn’t help but regret Kangil’s weight pulling away.

The pressure that seemed to crush down on him had felt so good.

Kangil didn’t start the car right away but rested his face against the steering wheel again.

This time, though, he didn’t bury it in his arms. Instead, he looked straight at Nahyuk, running his tongue slowly across his lips.

“Let’s rest a little before we go.”

    “……”

    “I’m a bit worked up.”

A dry swallow slid down Nahyuk’s throat. Even those words, “worked up,” felt like a provocation. It was as if the half-hardened length between his legs was straining even harder.

He recalled for a moment when they had pressed against each other before, rubbing together. Could they really do such a thing in a parked car?

Just then, Kangil’s eyes crinkled in a smile. With a clear expression, he teased him.

“Noah, you were just thinking something dirty, weren’t you?”

    “N-no.”

“It was written all over your face.”

    How did he know?

He hadn’t done anything but look at his face.

“I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not doing anything beyond kissing.”

    “Why? Because I’m sick?”

Only after blurting it out did Nahyuk realize he sounded like he was clinging. Embarrassed, he fell quiet, but Kangil didn’t call it out.

“No. More because I want it to mean something when I go further with the person I love.”

    “……”

“…And staring at me like you don’t believe me is rude, you know? I might look otherwise, but I’m the type to fall hard. I just never had anyone to fall for before, so I lived halfheartedly.”

It wasn’t that Nahyuk didn’t believe him… it was just unexpected.

Testing him a little, Nahyuk said,

“Even if I begged, you still wouldn’t do anything?”

    “How would you beg?”

“First, I’d crawl between your legs and plead. Then maybe shed a few tears. Funny thing is, I realized you get turned on when you see me cry.”

That first day he had knelt between Kangil’s legs for the drug, Kangil had gotten aroused seeing his tears.

“Don’t. Don’t do any of that.”

    “Why not?”

Kangil wiped the smile from his lips and answered seriously.

“…Because I’d give in right away.”

The embarrassed look on his face was almost cute. Nahyuk ended up laughing.

“Don’t laugh. Or I might just take you right here.”

    “Well, I wouldn’t exactly mind…”

“Enough. Let’s drive. We should go somewhere, maybe somewhere crowded.”

Kangil smoothly turned the steering wheel.
