TRSBPASO 1
by starlightxel“Mr. Lin, the young master has locked himself in his room for a long time! I’m afraid something might’ve happened!”
“Mr. Lin, please go take a look!!”
“…”
The bedroom door was being pounded on loudly. From the sound of it, the people outside were clearly panicking.
Lin Yi sat up in bed and pressed a hand to his woozy head. Looking at the unfamiliar surroundings before him, he was a little lost.
So… where is this?
Just then, the knocking outside started again.
Annoyed by the noise, Lin Yi had no choice but to get out of bed and walk to the door.
But the moment his hand touched the doorknob, he stared blankly at the hand in front of him—it clearly wasn’t his.
Although he had worked in an office for years, he had always kept up with the gym. His build had always been in the healthy and fit range.
Yet now his hands were slender and fair, with well-proportioned joints, delicate as if they had never done a single day of manual labor.
What the hell was going on?!
With countless questions swirling in his mind, Lin Yi opened the bedroom door.
The butler was so anxious outside he was breaking into a cold sweat. Seeing the door finally open, he rushed forward and said, “Mr. Lin, the young master has locked himself in his room for several hours already. We’ve knocked, but there’s no response. He locked it from the inside and we can’t open it with the key. What should we do?”
Lin Yi still had no idea what was happening, but he had always been calm in a crisis. He quickly said, “Let’s go take a look.”
The butler immediately led Lin Yi towards the young master’s room.
As they walked, he couldn’t help but mutter anxiously, “Has the young master’s autism gotten worse again? We might need to call the psychologist this afternoon.”
Lin Yi followed him unhurriedly, his mind turning over that sentence.
Young master? Autism?
In that instant, countless plot fragments flooded into his head.
Only then did Lin Yi realize—he had transmigrated into a novel!
It’s not just any novel, but a wealthy family drama.
The original owner of this body was a people-pleaser—always timid and submissive, constantly exploited by those with ulterior motives, and never once resisted. No matter what happened, he kept it all to himself.
The Huo family had picked him precisely because of his docile nature and made him a pawn in a marriage alliance.
In that marriage, the original owner had zero presence. He had never even met his powerful husband, only gained the title of “spouse”, and received five million yuan a month in spending money.
Maybe it was all too suffocating, but not long after the marriage, the original owner passed away in quiet despair.
Thinking of this, Lin Yi examined the body he now inhabited and clicked his tongue.
Five million a month? And you’re depressed about that?
If it had been him, he would be living a good life.
Still, now that he had taken over this body, it was only right to help reclaim what the original owner had lost. Everything that should’ve belonged to him—Lin Yi would take it back. Every last thing.
Soon, Lin Yi and the butler arrived at a bedroom door.
A dozen house staff stood outside, all looking anxious.
After all, the one locked inside was the Huo family’s only young master, the apple of their eye. If something happened, none of them would be able to shoulder the blame.
Compared to the others’ panic, Lin Yi remained calm.
After all, in his previous life, he had been a top investment executive, constantly dealing with emergencies. His mental toughness was top-tier. If he freaked out every time something happened, he wouldn’t have survived that job.
Then again, even with nerves of steel, he still died from overwork at the age of twenty six.
The night before he transmigrated, he and his team had pulled an all-nighter to finish a major project. He hadn’t even had time to celebrate when a sharp pain hit his chest and he collapsed on the spot.
Thinking about that completed project now filled Lin Yi with regret.
What a massive loss.
He poured so much effort into it, and now it was probably going to benefit someone else.
When the servants saw Lin Yi arrive, they quickly stepped aside.
Still, none of them had much hope. Their Mr. Lin had always been spineless, always panicking when faced with decisions. He was completely unreliable.
But… today’s Mr. Lin seemed a little different?
Ignoring their stares, Lin Yi calmly reached out to the butler. “Give me the key.”
The butler quickly handed it over.
Lin Yi inserted the key and turned it—sure enough, it wouldn’t open.
He knocked a few times, but there was still no response from inside.
After thinking for a moment, Lin Yi said quickly, “Where’s the window to this room? Take me there. Also, get me a ladder.”
The butler immediately realized what he was planning and said in surprise, “Mr. Lin, you’re going to climb in through the window?”
Lin Yi raised an eyebrow. “What else? Stand here and wait forever?”
Lin Yi had fair skin, charming peach blossom eyes, and thick lashes that cast a soft shadow below his lids. By all accounts, his features leaned toward delicate.
Yet when he raised his brow like that, his gaze swept over them so lightly yet forcefully that it carried an unexpected pressure.
The butler was startled and quickly nodded, hurrying to make arrangements.
Three minutes later, Lin Yi and a group of people arrived at the back of the villa.
The young master’s bedroom was on the second floor.
A ladder had been propped against the exterior wall to climb up but the ladder wasn’t long enough to reach the window. Climbing would involve some risk.
The butler hesitated, about to speak.
What if Mr. Lin got hurt?
Lin Yi didn’t seem to care. He took off his jacket and tossed it to a nearby servant before quickly climbing up.
He soon reached the top of the ladder, still a bit of a distance from the window.
Relying on his skill and guts, Lin Yi easily leapt up, grabbed the edge of the window ledge, and scaled his way onto the young master’s windowsill.
Everyone watching below stared in shock.
Was this really their weak and timid Mr. Lin?
Once he was steady on the ledge, Lin Yi rubbed his sore arms.
This body was just too weak. If it had been his old one, climbing a window was nothing. He had been through far worse.
While rubbing his arm, Lin Yi peered through the window and finally saw the infamous little young master of the Huo family.
The boy was only three years old—a soft, squishy little human cub.
He was currently sitting on the carpet reading a picture book with lips pressed together in deep concentration. After finishing a page, he turned it carefully with his tiny hands.
Now and then, when he saw something he liked, he would smile a little, and two tiny dimples would appear on his cheeks.
Lin Yi had never dealt with children before, but now he was a bit moved.
Human cubs really were cute.
But… this soft little thing was supposed to have mild autism?
He gently tapped on the window.
At first, Huo Mianmian didn’t react and kept reading his book.
Lin Yi tapped again and even waved his hand.
Finally, Huo Mianmian looked up.
When he saw someone sitting on the windowsill, his big, black eyes widened in surprise.
Lin Yi smiled and gestured for him to open the window.
Huo Mianmian stared blankly for a moment, then pressed his lips together, set the book down, and pitter-pattered over to open the window.
He was too short to reach the lock, so he ran back, grabbed a little stool, climbed up, tiptoed, and used his chubby hand to undo the latch.
Once the window was open, Lin Yi vaulted inside.
Huo Mianmian stared at him, eyes filled with curiosity.
Lin Yi crouched down to meet his gaze, then smiled and said, “Curious how I got up here? Then can I ask you something first?”
Huo Mianmian didn’t answer, just blinked his big round eyes and continued to stare at him.
Knowing the child had special needs, Lin Yi didn’t expect a reply. He tried again gently, “Why did you lock the door? Everyone was worried.”
Huo Mianmian blinked again, still silent—but he turned around, waddled over to the door, and opened it.
Lin Yi raised his eyebrows in mild surprise, then asked, “You didn’t hear us knocking just now?”
Huo Mianmian shook his head.
He was wearing a yellow Pikachu onesie with a hood, and when he shook his head, the little Pikachu ears on the hood bounced with him. It was ridiculously cute.
Lin Yi was instantly charmed but couldn’t help feeling a bit concerned.
Looks like the kid’s condition wasn’t just mild autism, there might be other psychological issues too.
But that wasn’t his problem. The Huo family had money and power. They could hire all the therapists in the world.
With the matter resolved, Lin Yi left the room.
He headed to the downstairs living room, sat in a single armchair, and started playing on his phone.
To his surprise, Huo Mianmian came down after a while, still holding his picture book.
When he saw Lin Yi sitting in his usual spot, the boy froze in confusion, hugging the book tightly to his chest.
Lin Yi had no idea what the kid was thinking, but he noticed him staring and asked, “What is it?”
Huo Mianmian shook his head.
Lin Yi didn’t press further and went back to his phone.
The little boy stood there, his face a little conflicted, clearly unsure whether or not he should sit next to Lin Yi.
After hesitating, he walked over to Lin Yi’s armchair, put his book down, and started climbing up—using both hands and feet.
Unfortunately, his legs were too short, and it was a bit of a struggle.
Lin Yi asked, “Want me to lift you?”
Huo Mianmian shook his head and kept climbing.
Persistence paid off, and he finally made it onto the chair, then he picked up his book and started reading again.
Lin Yi turned his head slightly and saw Huo Mianmian with his little head lowered, reading his picture book intently. His big eyes blinked as he focused, unbearably cute.
He looked for a moment, then turned back to his phone.
One big and one small sat side-by-side in the single armchair; one playing on his phone, one reading a picture book.
The scene was oddly peaceful.
After a while, Huo Mianmian started to feel sleepy.
He rubbed his eyes and tried to keep reading, but he just couldn’t stay awake.
Eventually, he lost the battle with sleep and flopped sideways.
Lin Yi was in the middle of a mobile game when something soft landed against him, startling him.
He turned to look and saw Huo Mianmian had quietly fallen asleep against his side, breathing softly with long lashes fluttering.
He was clearly well taken care of, soft and chubby all over, lips red and teeth white, a particularly pretty kid.
From Lin Yi’s angle, he could see the round, plush cheeks full of baby fat, perfect for squishing.
As he looked at the boy sleeping against him, Lin Yi thought, You’re the one who leaned over first.
Then, guilt-free, he reached out and gently pinched the little guy’s cheek.
Just as expected—super soft. The feeling was amazing.
