After a long and gruelling war, the famed archmage who’d contributed the most to the victory had taken his own life, leaving behind a final note stating he’d carry all the sins with him. 

Beside his lifeless body, a young boy named Rothy was found, curled up and trembling. 

Though Theon had never seen the child before, Rothy looked at him with a surprising warmth, as if they shared a bond that he alone remembered. The oddity of this stirred something deep within Theon.
