The Trial

Collie, a prosperous southern town blessed with bright sunshine, fertile land, and the fragrance of flowers in full bloom. ‘Gray’ is a historic perfumer family located in Collie, earning the respect of the townspeople by helping the town’s vagrants and sponsoring poor, talented individuals.

‘Jeff’, who came to work as a tutor for the Gray family at the request of his university friend ‘Hugo’, encounters the beautiful and capable head of the family, ‘Wayne’, who creates the enchanting fragrance of <Vibrook>, along with the kind servants and the bright, vibrant, talented children there.

Daily life at the mansion seems utterly ideal and peaceful, but Jeff feels a certain unidentifiable sense of unease.

“Are you all, by any chance, wearing perfume?”

Why is it that the children’s body odor that grazes the tip of his nose carries the scent of ‘him’ that Jeff had been searching for for so long,

“Why was the head of the family collapsed in a place like this?” and why is the head of the family, ‘Wayne’, collapsed in the annex hidden in the forest, late at night?
