TG Ch 6 Part 1
by CanaanSummer, the peak season for sea monster activity, was approaching.
The blaring monster intrusion alarm served as a stark reminder. The alarm, indicating an intrusion near the coast, was directly sent to the Alpha team, the frontline assault unit. Sijin looked anxiously at Ham Geonwu’s smartwatch, its screen flashing red.
“Another intrusion.”
Ham Geonwu muttered nonchalantly as he walked into the examination room with Sijin. Through the window on the fourth floor, they saw several black jeeps speeding across the Center grounds and lights illuminating the helipad.
Sijin, hurrying after him, asked nervously, “Do you have to go?”
“Yes, I have to. The Alpha team command is currently under me.”
Ham Geonwu practically ran towards the examination room. He answered a call on his smartwatch, uttering a short code, then dashed into the recovery room. Sijin followed close behind.
Ham Geonwu shook the man sleeping on the bed.
“Captain, Captain?”
“…..”
“Jeong Tae, I’m being dispatched. I’m leaving the doctor with you, okay?”
“…You, fuck…”
Jeong Taeyul, his brow furrowed, grumbled a curse. He had been sleeping peacefully when someone decided to shake him awake.
Shin Dayoung, startled by the commotion, rushed in. “Don’t wake Captain Shark so suddenly! I just gave him a tranquilizer!”
“Sorry.”
Ham Geonwu offered a halfhearted apology, then shook Jeong Taeyul’s shoulder again. Sijin quickly intervened.
“You know he can’t wake up after a tranquilizer, right? I’ll take care of him, you go.”
“Okay. Oh, I got the signal.”
Jeong Taeyul mumbled in a drowsy voice, “Alright…” Sijin knew he was just speaking incoherently due to the tranquilizer, but Ham Geonwu seemed satisfied with the answer and dashed out.
“Take care of Jeong Tae, Doctor.”
“You too, Geonwu, be careful.”
“And don’t get too close to him!”
“Geonwu, eyes on the front!”
Sijin shouted, worried. Ham Geonwu simply waved at him, then jumped out the window. Out the window. Sijin’s jaw dropped. They were on the fourth floor…
Several helicopters were already rising into the sky. He watched them nervously, then, remembering Ham Geonwu’s departure, he felt a sense of relief. It was reassuring to have someone he trusted on the front lines. And since the monster intrusion alarm hadn’t sounded again, there was a chance the situation wouldn’t escalate.
‘Geonwu’s gone… I just have to look after Jeong Taeyul and handle my shift.’
Sijin calmly assessed his tasks. He had to stay late, but it was manageable. He could finish his work while waiting for the dispatched Ability Users to return.
Returning to the examination room, he asked Shin Dayoung, “Dayoung-ssi, how were the Shark’s readings?”
“As soon as you left, Captain Shark started working on his tablet, complaining that he couldn’t sleep… So, I confiscated it and gave him a tranquilizer. I figured you wouldn’t be happy about him working.”
“Why was he working…? Good job confiscating it.”
Shin Dayoung handed him the reading logs and Jeong Taeyul’s tablet. Sijin put the tablet away safely and asked, “He’s sleeping soundly now… Did he go to the guiding room?”
“No, he refused… I gave him the tranquilizer, as you instructed. He’s been asleep for about thirty minutes.”
‘He refused guiding again…’
Sijin wondered if he should force him to go. While examiners couldn’t force Guides to guide, it was common for them to pester them until they gave in.
“Alright. Thank you for your hard work, Dayoung-ssi.”
Sijin expressed his gratitude and entered the recovery room.
Jeong Taeyul was fast asleep. It was ironic that he’d been awake just thirty minutes ago, considering he’d been sleeping all morning.
‘He won’t wake up today with all that tranquilizer in his system…’
As Sijin had feared, the tranquilizer was strong. But not using it when needed would be detrimental as well. He checked Jeong Taeyul’s readings, relieved to see him sleeping peacefully.
[-62%]
But what worried him was that his wave readings had only improved by 3% all day… At this rate, he’d need at least another day or two of rest.
‘Why is his recovery so slow?’
What was the problem? Sijin frowned, massaging Jeong Taeyul’s shoulder as he pondered.
‘Is it because he’s been separated from Geonwu? But his readings haven’t been good even when they were together… Was the stress from recent missions too much? I should have offered him a counseling session. Guides are sensitive to emotional stress… I was too busy… I’ll have to talk to him when he wakes up…’
And then it happened.
“Ugh…!”
The world suddenly flipped.
Sijin cried out in surprise as he was pinned beneath a heavy, muscular body.
Jeong Taeyul had grabbed him, his broad shoulder pressing down on Sijin’s face. Sijin struggled, pushing against his chest.
“Ow, ow, it hurts! Jeong Taeyul!”
Then, Jeong Taeyul bit down on his neck.
His tongue, hot and wet, trailed across the sensitive skin, sending shivers down Sijin’s spine. He cringed, trying to pull away, but there was nowhere to escape. Jeong Taeyul’s hot breath against his ear sent goosebumps erupting across his skin.
“Haa, J-Jeong Taeyul… Guide Jeong Taeyul…?”
“…..”
He didn’t respond. Perhaps it was the tranquilizer, but he seemed to be in a daze. Sijin’s breath hitched in his throat as he felt Jeong Taeyul’s hot breath against his neck. The bite, which had been painful, softened.
‘He’s so strong, even when he’s asleep…!’
Sijin tried to wriggle free, but Jeong Taeyul only tightened his grip, his embrace almost desperate. Sijin was trapped, his arms pinned beneath Jeong Taeyul’s body.
The difference in their strength was undeniable. Sijin’s eyes widened in alarm.
“…..!”
He instinctively started thrashing his legs.
He could feel Jeong Taeyul’s hardness pressing against him, his arousal hard and heavy against his thigh.
Sijin swallowed, his throat dry. He was outmatched.
He tried to think rationally, as an examiner.
‘Calm down. He’s under the influence of tranquilizers. It’s normal to have… nocturnal erections.’
He hadn’t expected to become aware of it so… intimately, but it was a natural physiological response. Sijin took a deep breath, trying to remain calm, then carefully moved his head away from Jeong Taeyul’s mouth. He was still biting down, his breath hot against Sijin’s skin. He felt like he was being held captive by a wild animal.
He attempted to pull away again, carefully.
“Ah…!”
Jeong Taeyul suddenly thrust his muscular thigh between Sijin’s legs, pressing against him. Sijin gasped, pushing against his waist, but his attempts were futile.
“J-Jeong Taeyul…!”
His face flushed, his body burning as if he’d caught Jeong Taeyul’s fever.
His embrace tightened, making Sijin squeeze his eyes shut.
Sijin knew, based on his examinations, that Jeong Taeyul’s physical age was still in his early twenties. And while he wasn’t sure about his own physical age, it was definitely older than his actual age. Not to mention Sijin’s pathetic lack of strength.
He wouldn’t be able to escape using force.
“Jeong Taeyul, p-please wake up…”
Sijin pleaded, his voice laced with desperation. Jeong Taeyul’s possessive embrace and insistent touches were becoming overwhelming. There was no mistaking his intent.
He was being held so tightly, it was becoming hard to breathe. To ease the pressure, he wrapped his arms around Jeong Taeyul’s broad back and spread his legs slightly.
Then, a thought struck him.
‘…Is he mistaking me for an Esper?’
Sijin had witnessed Ability Users losing control and pouncing on their Guides or fellow Espers. But never on an ordinary human like him. Ordinary humans were usually treated as obstacles to be pushed aside.
Then, a terrifying thought crossed his mind.
‘Is he going to try to guide me?’
Panic surged through him. If Jeong Taeyul attempted to guide him, he would lose consciousness in an instant.
“Haa…”
“…..!!”
Jeong Taeyul let out a deep sigh, his lips brushing against Sijin’s skin as he shifted. One of his large hands, calloused and rough, moved down, kneading Sijin’s thigh. Sijin was certain he was about to initiate s*xual contact.
This could be a sign of an Ability User craving guiding or a precursor to an outburst. Sijin felt like he was holding a ticking time bomb. If Jeong Taeyul guided him, he could lose consciousness for days.
He had to get out of this situation without provoking him.
He carefully started pushing Jeong Taeyul away. He couldn’t risk agitating the ticking time bomb. Once he was free, he could call for another Esper.
As he tried to pull away, Jeong Taeyul clung to him desperately. Thankfully, there was no aggression. That meant he could try to wake him up.
Sijin swallowed, his throat dry, then spoke, his voice as soothing as he could manage.
“Haa, J-Jeong Taeyul. Tae…yul?”
“…..”
“T-Taeyul… It’s me. Can you let go…? Aht!”
Jeong Taeyul suddenly thrust his hips upward. He hadn’t used much force, yet the entire bed shook. Sijin, startled, clamped his mouth shut, abandoning all attempts at communication.
Just then, someone entered the recovery room.
“D-Doctor!?”
It was Shin Dayoung. Her constant visits to the recovery room had finally paid off. Sijin felt like crying tears of relief.
However, she quickly shielded her eyes with the curtain, seemingly embarrassed by the scene before her. Sijin realized how compromising their position must look.
He whispered, “D-Dayoung-ssi… Don’t leave, don’t leave.” He couldn’t risk agitating the time bomb in his arms.
“Doctor, I’m not sure what to do… But this is…”
“Shh…! It’s… it’s not what it looks like…”
Sijin said, feeling utterly helpless. Jeong Taeyul, still under the influence of the tranquilizer, didn’t react. However, his increasingly heavy breathing suggested he was struggling.
Trying to avoid stimulating the agitated Ability User, Sijin asked for help, “Dayoung-ssi, can you check his readings?”
“Ah, y-yes…!”
Shin Dayoung, finally understanding the situation, rushed over. She carefully untangled the examination wires from their bodies, prioritizing the expensive equipment. It was a typical examiner response.
She checked his readings, then said, her voice filled with relief, “Oh my god… Seriously, doctor, how did you…? Captain Shark’s readings are high, but it’s not a pre-outburst state.”
“Haa… Thank goodness…”
That meant he didn’t need to call another Esper. Sijin let out a sigh of relief.
Then, his face flushed.
‘So, he…’
If it wasn’t a pre-outburst state, that meant Jeong Taeyul had been driven by his need for guiding… And he had directed that need towards Sijin, an ordinary human.
“Haa… Dayoung-ssi… please, help me get out of here.”
Sijin said, his voice strained. It was safe to move now. Shin Dayoung pulled him away, muttering under her breath, “I visited this room a hundred times today…”
“…..”
She wouldn’t be saying that if she knew what it was like to be mauled by the Shark. Sijin, finally free from the bed, checked his neck in the mirror.
Oh my god. His neck was flushed, covered in bite marks and the trail of Jeong Taeyul’s tongue. He was going to have a hickey.
