❖ August 20th, a letter from Richard Elmyr to Euilde Elmyr

To my beloved younger brother, Eui,

I have received the letter you sent.

I am glad to hear that you have adapted well to the Academy, even better than I had expected. It brings joy to my heart.

However, after reading your letter, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of worry.

First, there is no doubt that the intimidating man you encountered is indeed the same person I mentioned, Kael Clavis. His black hair and purple eyes are distinctive traits that align with the lineage of the Clavis Marquess family.

You also mentioned that the Kael Clavis you saw was tall and well-built, and that is correct as well.

But Eui, just because he appears robust on the outside, does that necessarily indicate good health? As I have always told you, accepting surface appearances as facts is the first thing a wise person should be wary of.

His tall stature and strong physique are merely inherited from his parents, and he is still the same fragile and timid person he was in his childhood.

You mentioned that you were scared of his harsh and abrasive way of speaking. The moment I read that, my heart ached, and tears nearly welled up.

Kael Clavis never had any friends because of his weak constitution since childhood. He has always been lonely and alone, never knowing how to interact with people.

You mentioned that he asked you if you didn’t recognize who he was, right? As if he was picking a fight.

In this older brother’s brief opinion, perhaps he wanted to get closer to you but didn’t know how to go about it.

Just as I have shared many stories about Kael Clavis with you, I have also talked a lot about you to him. Your bright and soft brown hair, gentle and warm brown eyes, and your lovely white face, and so on.

He probably recognized that you were my brother at first sight. And I believe he was waiting for you to initiate the conversation. However, due to his fear of revealing his vulnerable side, he acted in a rough manner, which led to your misunderstanding. And when you didn’t approach him first, it hurt him even more.

Eui, this older brother earnestly pleads with you.

Try reaching out to him first and express your desire to be friends. I believe that way, you will undoubtedly be able to see his true intentions. I assure you of that.

I always wish for you to have a broader perspective, a wiser eye, and a more compassionate way of life. You know how I feel, don’t you?
