    Contains Violence/blood

“What were you trying to take?”

    “Nothing, nothing…”

Bam. Blood splattered from his lips as he was slapped again. Nam-woon, with his neck grabbed by Chairman Seok, struggled to speak through his swollen lips. He was out of breath and struggled to answer.

    “A, a watch… I was trying to take a watch…”

Nam-woon continued speaking with his eyes tightly shut. It was to erase the dark figure that overlapped the person in front of him.

“The amount of the payment was too much… I don’t have the money now…”

Before he could finish his sentence, a series of violent punches landed on his head and face. He felt excruciating pain where he had been hit. His body bent over in pain, feeling as if his bones would break and snap.

“You must want to die quickly.

    “…..!”

Nam-woon let out a silent scream as his fingers were stepped on by the hard leader shoes. Even so, the violence did not stop.

His once clean skin turned red within seconds, and his bloody nose stained his once white shirt red. There were clear footprints imprinted on his jacket. Nam-woon endured the violence without resistance. Soon, a chilling voice came from above.

“Even after getting hit like that, you still don’t know what real pain is, that’s why you’re acting like this.”

At that moment, a gentle voice, completely different from Chairman Seok’s words, came to Nam-woon’s mind.

“I don’t want you to get hurt anymore.”

Nam-woon blinked as he felt dizzy. Why was Kwon Seo-oh suddenly coming to his mind at a time like this? However, a single sentence that came to his mind by chance, like a pebble causing ripples in calm water, filled his mind with thoughts of Kwon Seo-oh.

At first glance, he seemed blunt, but in reality, Kwon Seo-oh’s actions and gaze were more affectionate than anyone else’s. “Hyung.” His gentle and warm touch as he wiped his cheek. A strange thought suddenly arose in Nam-woon, who had been filled with fear until now.

Kwon Seo-oh didn’t like seeing me in pain. If I go home like this, he will definitely be angry. I shouldn’t keep getting beaten.

…But why do I have to be beaten like this?

It was an unfamiliar and strange emotion that Nam-woon had never felt before. But one thing he could understand was that this intense emotion had been suppressed inside him for a long time.

Wiping the blood from his nose and mouth, Nam-woon slowly pushed himself to his feet, while Chairman Seok, who had taken off his wristwatch and thrown it on the desk, slowly rolled up his sleeves.

“As a father, I should punish a spoiled child.”

Exposing his solid arms, he looked down at Nam-woon with cold eyes. Unlike a moment ago when Nam-woon was looking down at the floor, he now stared back at Chairman Seok as if he were confronting him. Chairman Seok’s hand stopped abruptly. He realized that there was a strange mix of emotions in his son’s eyes, which had been filled with fear and terror just a moment ago.

A fierce gaze that seemed to pierce through him. It was hatred.

    “……”

A heavy silence hung between them for a moment. It was Chairman Seok who was the first to speak.

    “Ha, haha.”

He laughed to himself for a moment, then lowered his corner of his mouth and asked in a calm tone.

“Director Yoon, is there a bed available in the hospital?”

    “I’ll check.”

“If there isn’t, make one. This guy needs to be locked up in the hospital.”

I need to give him some education before then. Chairman Seok muttered in a low voice and gestured his chin to his subordinate.

    “Get him.”

At Chairman Seok’s command, Director Yoon quietly went out with the phone to his ear, while the large man remaining inside grabbed Nam-woon’s arms with a swift motion.

    “Fuck, get off me!”

Nam-woon struggled violently, twisting his body. Chairman Seok’s eyes turned even colder at the sight of his son acting like this for the first time. He took a golf club out of his golf bag and approached Nam-woon. He raised his arm high.

At that moment, there was a small commotion followed by a loud bang, like a door breaking. Soon, the uninvited guest who had barged in without warning strode towards Nam-woon before anyone could stop him. There was no hesitation in his steps.

While everyone was stunned by the sudden intrusion, the man at the center of the incident immediately threw a punch at the large man restraining Nam-woon. When the big guy fell to the floor from the unexpected violence, he took advantage of the gap to grab Nam-woon’s arm and pull him tightly to him. Nam-woon’s eyes widened as he looked at the man’s face.

“You, how did you get here….”

It was Kwon Seo-oh. Despite Nam-woon’s bewildered question, Seo-oh silently scanned the face in front of him. Cheeks so red that the handprints were clearly visible, and lips that were pitifully split open. His lower body and shirt were stained in blood from how many times he had been beaten. The sight of his appearance was etched in his eyes.

Hyung, who had been neat and clean when he left in the morning, was now soaked in blood.

Seeing his miserable appearance, a storm of emotions surged in Seo-oh’s chest. His jaw muscles tensed, and his prominent Adam’s apple moved intensely. Seo-oh roughly pulled the dazed Nam-woon behind him and glared fiercely at Chairman Seok. His eyes were sharp and filled with hostility.

At that moment, when a strange tension was in the air, a loud cracking sound was heard, Boom! Nam-woon gasped at the loud sound.

    “Kwon Seo-oh…! Are you okay?”

Seo-oh, seemingly unaffected by the surrounding commotion, calmly held the back of his head with one hand and slowly turned. Behind him stood the large figure he had just knocked down, holding a long pole in his hand.

Seo-oh turned around to face the man. His face looked indifferent, but the intimidating aura he emitted was so fierce, causing the man to take a few steps back unconsciously. However, he quickly realized he was in front of Chairman Seok and charged at him, spitting out filthy curses.

    “You son of a bitch…!”

However, the man couldn’t use his hands and had to bend over with a scream. A brutal kick struck his abdomen. Before he could react, a fierce punch struck his face, causing his body to collapse to the ground. Seo-oh stood over the fallen man and punched him again. The man’s face quickly became covered in blood from Seo-oh’s relentless blows, with blood dripping from Seo-oh’s fists.

    “……”

Nam-woon was speechless as he watched the brutal violence unfold right in front of his eyes. It was the first time he had ever seen Seo-oh express his anger so violently.

Seo-oh, who had just beaten a man to a pulp, straightened his body and confronted Chairman Seok again. His chest was heaving from the aftereffects of the violence. The two men’s eyes locked.

Chairman Seok opened his mouth with a stiff expression.

“It’s been a while since you’ve shown your face, and now you’re causing such a commotion.”

    “Chairman.”

Seo-oh stared blankly at the man and continued speaking.

“If you keep doing that Hyung will die.”

“Hyung. Surely you’re not talking about that worm, are you?”

At those words, Seo-oh strode over, grabbed Chairman Seok by the collar roughly and shoved him against the wall. With a thud, Chairman Seok’s back hit the wall.

Chairman Seok looked up at Seo-oh. His normally intelligent eyes flashed with a strange light. The man spoke in a creepily low voice.

    “I’ve told you before.”

    “……”

“I want to live by protecting what is mine.”

Even as he held him by the collar, Chairman Seok had a smirk on his lips.

“What here belongs to you, Seo-oh? Everything in this room is mine.”

Including that trash. Chairman Seok glanced towards where Nam-woon was. Seo-oh’s grip tightened. Chairman Seok’s face turned red as his breath was increasingly cut off.

    “Don’t speak disrespectfully to Hyung.”

At the chilling voice, Chairman Seok opened his mouth with a smile.

“…Haha, Seo-oh, it seems you have nothing left to lose.”

At that moment, the air in the room changed distinctly. A heavy and sticky invisible moisture seemed to envelop his ankles. Nam-woon gasped for air, feeling as though it was being blocked. As the fierce pheromones of suppressed dominant alpha poured out ferociously, a crack appeared on Chairman Seok’s face, which had not changed until now.

Seo-oh’s hand wrapped around Chairman Seok’s neck as if to choke him. Chairman Seok’s face gradually turned red and then purple. “Hrrrah”… As a voice like scraping metal began to come out of his throat, Nam-woon hurriedly grabbed onto Seo-oh’s clothes.

    “Stop.”

But as if his voice didn’t reach Seo-oh, he didn’t release his grip. Growing impatient, Nam-woon tightly grabbed his clothes and raised his voice.

    “Stop it!”

Nam-woon hugged Seo-oh’s broad back tightly and pulled him back. Nam-woon pressed his forehead against Seo-oh’s body and whispered softly enough for Seo-oh to hear.

    “You didn’t find him.”

Fortunately, Nam-woon’s words brought Seo-oh back to his senses. Seo-oh’s hands, which had been gripping Chairman Seok, began to tremble before suddenly releasing with a thud. Chairman Seok weakly coughed, clutching his neck and gasping for the slowly returning oxygen.

In that moment, Nam-woon took out a white envelope he had prepared from his jacket.

    “Here, the money.”

After placing the envelope on the desk, Nam-woon grabbed Seo-oh’s wrist and headed towards the door. Seo-oh’s hand was still trembling with anger. As Nam-woon reached for the doorknob and pulled Seo-oh along, the door opened. Stepping outside, they heard Chairman Seok, who had just adjusted his collar, speak in a quiet yet eerie voice.

“Seo-oh, you’re too generous for your own good. You fill in one void as soon as you lose another.”

Namwooon ignored Chairman Seok’s words and grabbed Seo-oh’s arm to drag him away, but Seo-oh stopped in his tracks and didn’t budge. He stood in the doorway and glared at Chairman Seok.

“This time, I won’t let it be taken away.”

Then he grabbed Nam-woon’s wrist and took the lead, walking ahead.
