VDN Ch 90
by STAR“Hey! Shouldn’t we call the police? Someone’s going to get killed at this rate!”
Each time an arm swung, it sounded almost like bones breaking. When the elevator doors on that floor opened and people stepped out, they screamed at the sight. The hallway quickly filled with students who had heard the commotion and came to see what was happening.
But none of them thought to stop the fight. They watched in real time as a punch caused someone’s eye to swell terribly and another punch made blood gush from the nose and mouth. It was more accurate to say they didn’t dare to intervene.
“What kind of assholes are fighting and causing trouble in this sacred school?”
Na Dae-yeol shouted as he hurried up the stairs. Reaching the floor, he scrunched up his face and covered his nose with one arm.
“Shit, what’s that smell?”
The air reeked of the scent of alpha. He didn’t need to see it to know. He recognized the pheromones of a dominant alpha. Who was the dominant alpha in our school? Pushing through the crowd, he soon spotted a familiar face.
It was Jin Hae-geon.
Crazy, I knew that asshole would cause a big accident someday.
Na Dae-yeol shifted his gaze to the man holding Jin Hae-geon by the collar, still covering his nose. The back looked somewhat familiar. Where had he seen it before…?
Then, as the man’s side profile was revealed during the fight, Na Dae-yeol’s mouth fell open.
“Kwon Seo-oh?”
This pheromone belongs to Kwon Seo-oh? He’s also a dominant alpha like Jin Hae-geon?
Surprised by the unexpected person’s appearance, Na Dae-yeol quickly covered his mouth with his palm and bowed his head. It was all he could do not to vomit from the overwhelming pheromones.
And he wasn’t the only one. The entire floor was filled with the menacing scent of the dominant alpha pheromone, causing people to frown deeply. In severe cases, like Na Dae-yeol, they felt nauseous and had to leave for another floor or go outside the building.
Kwon Seo-oh’s dark-colored shirt didn’t show it well, but Jin Hae-geon’s white shirt was stained with spots of bright red blood. Looking at their condition, it wouldn’t have been surprising if a bone or two was broken. Na Dae-yeol swallowed hard at the sight.
Despite the chaos, Jin Hae-geon was smiling brightly. He’s such a crazy bastard. Those around him clicked their tongues and murmured, and Na Dae-yeol deeply agreed with them. Jin Hae-geon, with his eyes shining, asked a question.
“Are you mad because I want to suck Nam-woon’s nipple? It’s not like anyone has rented the place, so why not have a taste?”
“Stop imagining such dirty things. Before I tear your mouth off.”
“Isn’t it you who’s fantasizing, not me? You’re pretending to be his boyfriend when you’re not even together.”
“You bastard.”
Jin Hae-geon chuckled. Kwon Seo-oh’s face hardened at those words, and he roughly grabbed Jin Hae-geon by the collar. Before Jin Hae-geon could react, Kwon Seo-oh slapped him hard across the face several times with his large palm. Even though they were just slaps, it sounded like something had broken. People let out small screams at the sight.
Jin Hae-geon’s white cheek instantly turned a deep red. Staggering for a moment after the slaps, his lips twisted into a smile before he suddenly kicked Kwon Seo-oh in the abdomen. They tangled together and rolled around on the dirty hallway floor.
Seeing the two of them fighting like there was no tomorrow, Na Dae-yeol hesitantly stepped back.
“Shit. I’m fucked, man.”
Na Dae-yeol hid himself among the crowd with a pale face. There had been numerous times he had bothered Kwon Seo-oh. He was afraid that he might be caught in the crossfire.
“Crazy, shouldn’t we call a professor or something?”
The unprecedented chaos also caused screams and curses to run rampant among the students. They held their cellphones and filmed with their phones, but their faces were filled with panic.
The bloody dog fight, which seemed to end only when one of them died, was interrupted by the sudden ringing of a cell phone. At that sound Kwon Seo-oh was the first to get off Jin Hae-geon. Jin Hae-geon also pushed himself up off the ground. When Hae-geon turned his head, he saw his cell phone with its screen brutally shattered.
It was the moment he slowly moved towards his phone.
“Yeah. Hyung.”
But he wasn’t the owner of the ringing cell phone. Jin Hae-geon turned his head towards Kwon Seo-oh. Their eyes met. Kwon Seo-oh, looking straight into the eyes of the person looking him, continued speaking.
“I’m still at school.”
Then, as if listening to the voice on the other end of the phone, he paused for a moment before spitting the saliva that had pooled in his mouth onto the floor, towards Jin Hae-geon. At that action, Jin Hae-geon raised the corners of his mouth in a laugh.
“Yes. It’s okay. No, you don’t need to come all the way here to pick me up. Wait at home for me at home. Hyung, you enjoyed the kimchi stew last night. I’ll go and make it again today.”
Jin Hae-geon’s face turned cold during the casual conversation. A chill settled in his gaze.
“After we eat, I’ll help you wash up. Let’s go to bed early tonight.”
After giving Jin Hae-geon a quick glance, he had a more affectionate voice than before and walked forward with his disheveled appearance. As Kwon Seo-oh approached the stairs, the students who were watching him quickly moved out of the way.
Hae-geon watched the man going down the stairs. Once he was completely out of sight, Hae-geon limped over to where his phone was.
With blood-stained hands, he picked up the phone and checked the missed calls. The morning calls were only from his grandfather, Chairman Jin, and people whose faces he couldn’t remember. The name he wanted to see wasn’t there. The only calls with Nam-woon’s name were the ones he’d made himself.
Drip, a drop of red blood fell onto the phone screen. Hae-geon lifted his forearm to wipe his lips and then accessed the messaging app.
[Nam-woon-ah]
[Seok Nam-woon]
[Sleeping?]
[What are you doing]
[Shall we meet today]
[Why don’t you answer the phone]
There was no difference with the messenger. The chat window with Nam-woon was filled only with messages he had sent. The “1” mark was still there, indicating it hadn’t been read yet, and of course, that he hadn’t received a reply. Hae-geon stared at the bloodied screen for a moment before throwing the phone violently. It hit the classroom door with a bang and then fell to the floor.
Even when fighting with Kwon Seo-oh, Hae-geon’s face had been cheerful, but now it was expressionless, as if frozen. His slender jaw was tensed with muscle. The phone screen, which had been brightly lit, soon turned pitch black.

Fortunately, the police station where Detective Jang worked and Korea University were not too far away. As Nam-woon looked out the window in daylight anxiously, the warning window he had seen earlier popped up again.
Ding-!
[The meeting of the main characters has occurred on the wrong route!]
What’s the hell is the wrong route? Nam-woon asked himself, and the system popped up.
[The target of violence is incorrect. Please correct it to the correct target.]
Soon after, the names Kwon Seo-oh and Seok Nam-woon floated side by side in the air. The word “vs.” was written between their names, as if to indicate a duel. Next to each name, a horizontal bar appeared, completely filled with red. It looked just like the health bars you see in games.
“Are you really telling me to fight Kwon Seo-oh?”
“Please hit me” as if he was going to say that and get beaten up on his own accord… As Nam-woon looked out the window with a troubled gaze, the name Seok Nam-woon suddenly changed to ‘???’.
“Huh?”
Then, strange music signaling a duel began to play, followed by the sound of an impact. At the same moment, the HP of ‘???’ decreased slightly. Nam-woon’s eyes widened in surprise at Seo-oh’s unexpected blow.
“What!”
[The target of violence is incorrect!]
[Please proceed with the main quest on the correct route].
Who is Kwon Seo-oh hitting right now? Wondering if the name would appear if he got closer, Nam-woon pressed his forehead against the window and fixed his gaze on ‘???’. Then, a strong impact sound was heard again. This time, Kwon Seo-oh’s HP decreased slightly. Nam-woon yelled out loud.
“Damn it, some asshole hit my kid!”
“Hey! Why are you suddenly shouting like that and why is your language so rough?”
Startled by Nam-woon’s shout, the taxi driver threw an unhappy look at him through the rearview mirror.
“Ah, I’m sorry.”
Nam-woon apologized and then turned his gaze back to the window. Kwon Seo-oh and the unidentified person continued to hit each other like crazy after that. With each strong impact sound, their HP decreased rapidly, and the system’s warning sound continued.
[Please correct it to the correct route!]
How is Nam-woon supposed to correct Seo-oh’s behavior when he’s acting out on his own? Nam-woon had his mouth open at the sight of them exchanging blows as if they were fighting fiercely, but then he put on a serious expression.
Who is he fighting like that? Could it be that man I saw before?
Nam-woon recalled the “Eyeball Man” he had once encountered at Korea University. The relationship between him and Kwon Seo-oh didn’t seem very good. The annoying Eyeball Man and the somewhat hot-headed Kwon Seo-oh. It wouldn’t have been surprising if a brawl had broken out.
But it seemed like Eyeball Man couldn’t fight. He couldn’t even squeak when the topic of organ trafficking came up and freeze up. It seemed more plausible that he’d be knocked out by one blow. Although he looked harmless, Kwon Seo-oh had surprisingly strong hands. Suddenly recalling the fierce punch he had received from Seo-oh in the past, Nam-woon shuddered and shook his head. No matter how he thought about it, it seemed like that guy wouldn’t stand a chance.
Then who could it be? As Nam-woon racked his brain, he suddenly remembered a fact he had forgotten. It was the reason Jin Hae-geon became interested in Kwon Seo-oh.
Whoever the opponent was, Kwon Seo-oh was currently engaged in a muddy fight. That meant he was getting hit a lot, but would Jin Hae-geon really find it interesting to see Kwon Seo-oh getting hit like that? If Jin Hae-geon’s interest shifts towards ‘???’ who is fighting with Kwon Seo-oh…
Then, does that mean Seo-oh is out of the male lead position?’
