Deep Pivot Side Story, Episode 2

―There have been frequent complaints regarding smoking recently. At ‘The First Gallery,’ smoking inside units is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in fines, so please keep this in mind…

As the long announcement continued to drone on, Seo-joon finally let out a soft, dry laugh. The awkwardly broken moment still buzzed faintly with heat, like warmth lingering in a room long after the fire’s gone out.

    Ding-dong, daeng-dong…

The obnoxious PSA finally faded, leaving silence in its wake.

    “……”

If it had gone on just a few seconds longer, his rationality might have been lost for good. Seo-joon slowly swept his tousled hair back, finally regaining a clear head, and glanced down.

Scattered delivery boxes, rumpled sheets beneath them, and Yeon-woo—panting softly, sprawled out with flushed cheeks. His hands were gently pushing Seo-joon away, as if saying, That’s enough.

…Thinking back, their first time together had been a selfish farewell on his part. Something done with too much desperation, not enough care. Probably not a memory Yeon-woo would want to revisit fondly.

It looked like being all over each other at any given time in every corner of the house would have to wait a little longer. Maybe he needed to approach Yeon-woo more carefully than before.

Honestly, throwing his barely-experienced, still-young lover onto the kitchen tiles in broad daylight—without warning or care—was as disrespectful as it gets.

    “I’m sorry.”

Seo-joon gently kissed his forehead and apologized, voice tender.

“I got ahead of myself and didn’t consider you, Yeon-woo.”

    “T-that’s… that’s not it…”

Still catching his breath, Yeon-woo mumbled and stretched a hand up over his head, fumbling around. He rustled under the wrinkled sheets for a long moment, clearly searching for something. Seo-joon watched silently, curious about the sudden action. Yeon-woo frowned, murmuring softly,

    “Ugh… just a second, Lieutenant…”

I don’t know what he’s doing, but it’s kind of cute.

Finally, Yeon-woo’s hand returned, clutching something, and reached toward Seo-joon.

    “……”

Seo-joon stared blankly at the item before him, then slowly looked at Yeon-woo with a puzzled expression.

    “…Gel.”

Yeon-woo’s voice was barely audible as he lowered his gaze and answered the unspoken question.

    “Lubricant…”

Seo-joon couldn’t help it—laughter bubbled up. He quickly pressed his lips together, trying to stifle it. But the second-too-late laugh had already done its damage, enough to bruise the feelings of the lover lying beneath him.

Yeon-woo narrowed his eyes, clearly unamused, shooting Seo-joon a sharp glance.

    “Why are you laughing?”

    “No, I’m not—I didn’t laugh. I swear I didn’t, Yeon-woo.”

Seo-joon shook his head rapidly, putting on a serious face.

“I’m just… really touched by how prepared you are.”

He bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, staring at the gel in his hand like it was the most solemn thing in the world. A 200ml bottle of water-based lubricant, still in its sealed packaging.

“When did you even order this?”

    “…I don’t know.”

Yeon-woo frowned, clearly flustered, his gaze darting away at an angle. Not just his eyes, but his entire face—forehead, cheeks, all the way to his temples—was flushed red. And in that moment, Seo-joon had to wrestle again with a fresh wave of desire.

Suddenly dead serious, he asked in a low, accusing tone:

“What were you planning to use this for?”

    “We were… right now…”

“What exactly were we doing just now, Yeon-woo?”

Considering he’d just had his hand wrapped around his lover’s cock minutes ago, it was a ridiculously shameless thing to say.

“Yeon-woo, don’t tell me… The moment we got home, all you could think about was sex?”

In broad daylight, no less? Seo-joon asked with a mock-surprised tone.

“Your head’s just full of filthy thoughts, isn’t it?”

At the absurd scolding, Yeon-woo’s eyes turned glossy, his brows knitting together as he lowered his gaze. He looked like he might cry any second, shaking his head in denial—only to whisper something unexpected.

    “…Yes. That’s right.”

Seo-joon was caught so off guard by the unexpected answer that he lost all words—and the next moment, his body was suddenly flipped over. The shift in perspective was so quick and gentle, it almost felt silly how easily he ended up lying on his back. He stared up at Yeon-woo, now hovering over him.

Yeon-woo settled between his legs, which had naturally fallen open, and leaned down to kiss him. Testing the waters, he tried different angles, gently pressing and pulling away again and again—then began alternating between Seo-joon’s upper and lower lip, softly taking them in.

“Everything you said was right, Lieutenant…”

Despite the nervous tremble in his voice, the kiss itself was pure Yeon-woo—gentle and careful, laced with affection.

Seo-joon let out a soundless laugh and wrapped his arms around Yeon-woo’s neck. Their noses brushed past each other, and their lips locked more deeply than before. A tongue slipped into the open mouth, probing and twining with his own.

    Chup. Chuup.

The slick, messy sounds of their kiss echoed in the space between them, tangled deep within their lips.

The soft flesh, still carrying the faint scent of lemonade, brushed along the inside of Seo-joon’s mouth—gently exploring the roof of his mouth and the lines of his teeth. When he sucked down with a little more pressure, like trying to draw juice from fruit, a low moan trembled deep in Yeon-woo’s throat, only to be swallowed back down.

Hands slipped under his clothes. The cool touch made Seo-joon flinch, a soft gasp slipping from his lips. In a swift motion, his knit top was pulled up and over his head.

    “I… actually…”

Yeon-woo’s fingers brushed through his tousled hair, then gently played with the edge of his ear and earlobe before tugging over a pillow to tuck beneath his head. Between soft breaths and kisses, his quiet voice threaded through the space between them.

“I wanted to do this the moment we got home… but I held it in.”

His face, now only inches away, was still tinged pink around the eyes.

“But then you were the one who started it, Lieutenant.”

Seo-joon let out a breath of laughter and teased softly.

“If this was the plan, then why pretend to be all shy and innocent?”

Yeon-woo crossed his arms and pulled off his sweatshirt in one swift motion, tossing it aside without a word. He didn’t laugh at the teasing. As his bare skin met the cool air, a faint shiver rippled across him—only to be immediately warmed by the heat of Seo-joon’s body beneath him.

Seo-joon welcomed that warmth without hesitation. His fingers gently tangled in Yeon-woo’s hair, now fluffily disheveled from the static of his clothes. Haa… Hot breath spilled against the nape of his neck.

    “…To be honest.”

    Yeon-woo murmured.

“I’ve been thinking about this the whole time, even back at the hospital.”

    Chuuup—

The sudden suction on his skin made Seo-joon flinch. Lips slid down over his shoulder and collarbone, following the sensitive trails of heat left in their wake.

“Ever since you started ignoring me to stare at the Tri monitor… I kept thinking about it. Over and over again.”

Between the wet friction of their mouths, soft whispers scattered into the space around them.

    “Ugh…”

“If I was thinking about doing that kind of thing to you… when you couldn’t even speak…”

Then I must be really shameless.

Yeon-woo’s trembling voice vibrated low against Seo-joon’s skin. A gentle bite sank into the soft flesh at the nape of his neck.

Seo-joon ran his fingers through the warm strands of Yeon-woo’s hair, exhaling a heated breath, then cupped his lover’s cheek. Yeon-woo tilted his head into the touch, lips eagerly seeking his again as if he couldn’t stand even a second without them. Smooch, smooch.

“No matter what you tried to do, Yeon-woo… I would’ve gladly accepted it.”

Seo-joon whispered firmly into those lips. The truth was, once his cognition had returned, what shocked him most wasn’t the memory loss or lost time—but how bravely Yeon-woo had stood through it all.

Had their roles been reversed, Seo-joon wouldn’t have given up on Yeon-woo either… but he would’ve endured it differently. He would’ve clung, argued, gotten angry—maybe even broken down in frustration.

But Yeon-woo had never once done that.
Except once—just once, when he cried and begged.
In that dark, silent parking lot, where no one would’ve known no matter what happened…

‘If that was how it was going to be… then you should’ve just died with me that day.’

Just a single outburst—barely more than a bark—had made Yeon-woo recoil like a startled puppy. Since that moment, he’d cared for Seo-joon with even more devotion, completely consumed by guilt no one had ever placed on him.

“You’re not shameless at all, Yeon-woo.”

Seo-joon chuckled softly, pressing kisses all over his face.

“Honestly, the whole way home, all I could think about was throwing you down right there at the front door.”

    At that, Yeon-woo frowned.

    “You really are strange, Lieutenant…”

    Smooch, smooch.

Seo-joon answered his complaint with a flurry of playful kisses, peppering Yeon-woo’s lips like teasing little pecks that wouldn’t let up.

“Would you really be okay if I kept acting like this all the time?”

    Click, clack.

The sound of a belt unfastening was followed by the soft rustle of pants and underwear being pulled down in one motion. Seo-joon lifted his hips slightly to help, and Yeon-woo’s fingers ran through his hair, tousling it without thought.

“Would you hate it if I acted like this all the time, Yeon-woo?”

Seo-joon reached out, legs wrapped around Yeon-woo’s waist, drawing him in. Yeon-woo leaned down, obediently pressing into his embrace, his breath hot against Seo-joon’s skin.

    “I like everything, Lieutenant…”

His kisses, once focused on Seo-joon’s lips, now trailed down his cheeks and jaw.

“I love everything about you… You know that.”

“I’m the kind of person who could love you for a lifetime just by hearing you breathe, Lieutenant.”

Yeon-woo whispered again and again, his lips pressed close against Seo-joon’s ear. That low voice, tickling at his hearing, and the warm breath gathering on the edge of his ear sent a sharp, electric shiver down his spine.

“Getting to touch you like this…”

His lips nipped at Seo-joon’s earlobe before trailing down, burying into the curve of his neck. Seo-joon’s nipples, already perked from the chill, were softly rolled and teased beneath Yeon-woo’s broad fingertips.

    “Ahh…”

“Just being able to look into your eyes is enough to make me happy.”

With one arm braced against the floor, Yeon-woo kept his eyes locked with Seo-joon’s as his hand continued its slow path. His fingers grazed down over a nipple as if tracing the areola, then slid unhurriedly along Seo-joon’s chest and waist.

“How could I ever not love you, Lieutenant?”

    For a moment, Seo-joon found Yeon-woo unfamiliar.
After all they’d been through, the boy who had once been twenty had quietly grown into twenty-one—and now, from time to time, his eyes held something new. The immaturity had softened, replaced by a calmer, more refined kind of passion.

People really are greedy, Seo-joon thought.

There was a time he believed just having Yeon-woo at twenty was enough. But now… he wanted more. He couldn’t help but wonder how beautiful twenty-two-year-old Yeon-woo would be. Or twenty-three. And beyond.

He felt a deep, unshakable happiness in the certainty that he would be there to witness all of it.

That he would be by Yeon-woo’s side when the boy who was once twenty became thirty, forty—an age where “baby” would feel silly to say aloud.

Seo-joon knew, with complete certainty, He would stay with him—forever.
