As Gu Jinlin’s eyes flickered open, he was engulfed in pain—agonizing, relentless pain that seemed to permeate every fiber of his being. Every cell and every nerve screamed in protest… and in pain.

Struggling to focus, he forced to open his eyes more. He attempted to steady himself by reaching for the person’s shoulder, but his hands betrayed him as it only trembled uncontrollably.

“Heh.” The other person chuckled lightly; the disdain and mockery in that laughter could be distinctly heard.

This was the situation that Gu Jinlin had found himself in just a minute earlier.

He had just reached an agreement with the system when he found himself opening his eyes to a dimly lit room. With only a faint light seeping in through the gap of the curtains, his eyes couldn’t adjust for a moment.

Instinctively, he turned his head towards the light source, only to have his chin firmly grasped by someone the next moment. The person then forced him to look into the darkness once more.

“Hmm? You still have time to be distracted…”

The man’s voice was melodic and tantalizing; his appearance can only leave much to the imagination in the absence of visual cues.

It was just that his arms, neck, back, and waist throbbed with an intensity that bordered on the point of being unbearable. It was as if he’d been pummeled within an inch of his life, rendering him as vulnerable as a cooked shrimp [1].

“If you beg me, I’ll make it easier for you!”

The man suddenly opened his mouth, challenging Gu Jinlin to beg him. The demand was sudden, violating the unspoken understanding that such negotiations were typically mutual.

Gu Jinlin closed his eyes at the sound before suddenly opening them wide. There was a glint of coldness in his beautiful peach blossom eyes [2] as he coldly uttered three words.

    “You are insane.”

The man seemed to be taken aback by Gu Jinlin’s response as he was left stuttering, “What did you say?”

This time, Gu Jinlin remained silent as he rolled his eyes. He immediately controlled his trembling hands before quickly tightening his fist. With his right hand pressed against the man’s torso while his left hand was slightly raised, he was obviously showing a defensive posture.

    “I said you’re fucking insane!”

As soon as the words were spat, Gu Jinlin fiercely punched the man’s chest while his left hand swiftly followed, lunging an uppercut on the man’s chin next.

Crack. It was the sound of bones breaking. In less than half a minute, the man who had just pinned Gu Jinlin down was now lying on the side of the bed, groaning in exhaustion and unable to utter a word…

Enduring the pain reverberating throughout his body, Gu Jinlin rose from the bed. His resolve was unwavering as he lifted his leg and delivered the final, punishing blow toward the area between the man’s legs.

    “Ahhhh!”

As the man screamed in agony, there was a knocking sound outside the door, followed by a series of banging. Gu Jinlin grabbed a pillow from the side and pressed it against the man’s face, instantly silencing his cries.

“Brother Chen, are you okay? Did you provoke the little bunny [3] and get bitten?”

The taunting voice outside was met with a chorus of laughter.

“Tsk, there are quite a few people around.”

Gu Jinlin secretly sighed to himself. It seemed that he had to stretch his fists and feet properly this time…
