GTAS Arc. 1 Ch. 31
by cami“Drip, drip…”
Water leaked from somewhere and dripped down from the ceiling pipes, splashing onto the damp and cold ground where Shen Liyu lay. It created a small splash before disappearing into the ground the next moment.
The first sensation Shen Liyu felt upon waking up was pain.
The most painful area was his forehead, followed by his neck, and then his whole body, all aching faintly…
Shen Liyu tried to struggle to sit up, but found that his hands and feet were tightly bound with ropes. The rough texture of the ropes scraped painfully against his wrists, and he could feel that they were already chafed and bleeding.
He tried to speak, but found that his throat was burning with pain, rendering him unable to produce a single syllable…
Shen Liyu squinted his attractive peach blossom eyes and frowned. He remembered that when he was in the small forest, he had turned around to give Li Chen a kick, but in that moment of turning, he had been struck on the head with a stick. He remembered the person who attacked him… was it Zhang Yong?!
Though the environment he was in now was dark and dirty, Shen Liyu knew that at least for now, he was relatively safe.
And he wasn’t alone. He still had the assistance of the system.
“Little Six, what’s going on? Didn’t you say that if someone attacks me, they’ll be incapacitated and convulsing within three seconds?”
Shen Liyu, now struggling to breathe, felt a chilling sensation spreading throughout his body. He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but he felt like he was running a fever.
【 …Apologies, host. Little Six can only judge the time frame based on your perspective. When Zhang Yong attacked you, you only perceived one second, so it didn’t trigger Little Six’s shock function. 】
Shen Liyu was taken aback. He had thought that the system he was bound to was powerful, but it turned out to be weak! It almost cost him his life…
No, it had already taken half his life…
Sighing, Shen Liyu realized that lamenting was futile. The priority now was to find a way to alleviate the pain in his forehead.
“Then hurry up and repair my body. Damn it! It hurts so much…”
Though Shen Liyu’s thoughts were turbulent, he was lying there unable to move, bound hand and foot. He looked as if he were on the verge of death.
This body was too fragile. Just a single blow almost ended his life! He wanted to complain to the system. Next time, could it find him a sturdier body?
Before the system’s voice could respond, the sound of a key turning in the lock echoed from outside the room. Shen Liyu’s eyebrows furrowed. Whoever was coming wasn’t here to save him…
As the door was pushed open, a figure walked in and squatted beside Shen Liyu. In a low voice, they called out to him.
“Shen Liyu, is that really you?!”
Shen Liyu turned his head slightly to see a tall figure blocking the harsh light from outside. He squinted to get a clearer look and was surprised to see who it was!
“Don’t worry, I’ll take you out to bandage your wound. We can’t let it get infected,” said the person, who turned out to be the school doctor and Shen Liyu’s senior, Qin Zegang.
Shen Liyu watched as Qin Zegang untied the ropes around his wrists. With all his strength, Shen Liyu grabbed Qin Zegang’s large hand, tears welling up in his eyes as he spoke in a trembling voice.
“Doctor Qin, please save me…”
Qin Zegang’s expression darkened upon hearing Shen Liyu’s plea. He reassured him, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. I promise.”
Qin Zegang then lifted Shen Liyu and carried him out of the room. The sky outside the corridor window was already bright, indicating that it was nearing noon. Shen Liyu had been missing for a night.
‘I’ve been gone all night. Song Qihan must be worried sick…’ Shen Liyu suddenly thought of Song Qihan.
“I heard this morning that you had some urgent matters at home and had to leave. How did you end up here?” Qin Zegang asked.
Shen Liyu, puzzled, couldn’t understand who had told Song Qihan that. It definitely wasn’t Zhang Yong. If it had been Zhang Yong, Song Qihan, being clever, would have sensed that something was wrong…
He nestled in Qin Zegang’s arms and shook his head, indicating that he didn’t know either…
Qin Zegang’s expression had been grim since he arrived, and it hadn’t improved. He finally kicked open a door and placed Shen Liyu on a soft bed, seeming to heave a sigh of relief before saying, “Wait here. It’s safe here. I’ll go get some things to dress your wound.”
Shen Liyu couldn’t move, so he blinked his attractive peach blossom eyes to signal to Qin Zegang that he understood.
Just then, the half-open door was pushed open, and someone barged in, followed by several others.
As Qin Zegang turned around, Shen Liyu also looked, his eyes filled with shock. He saw another “Qin Zegang” entering the room!
This “Qin Zegang” looked slightly younger, dressed casually, and had a more devil-may-care look on his face, rather than the kind and gentle demeanor of Qin Zegang.
“Brother, you said you came to see me, but I feel like you’re here for this little bunny,” the newcomer said provocatively, eyeing Shen Liyu. “Brother, I remember when you were in college, you didn’t have this kind of taste…”
Though Qin Zegang was standing with his back to Shen Liyu, Shen Liyu could see that Qin Zegang’s hands clenched into fists as if he were restraining himself.
“Qin Huai! That’s enough! Stop it! Do you know what you’re doing is kidnapping? It’s illegal!” Qin Zegang yelled, his eyes red with anger.
However, Qin Huai seemed indifferent. Upon hearing Qin Zegang’s words, he chuckled and shrugged. “Brother, it’s not like this is the first time I’ve done something like this. If it wasn’t for you covering for me last time, I might have been caught by the police…”
As he spoke, Qin Huai reached into his pocket and pulled out something, pointing his finger at Qin Zegang’s face. “Speaking of which, I should treat you to a meal to thank you! You really saved me last time!”
Before Qin Zegang could respond, a burly man walked over and punched Qin Zegang in the stomach. Qin Zegang doubled over in pain, unable to utter a word.
Qin Huai wore a smug smile as he ordered the burly man to take Qin Zegang to the next room. Shen Liyu, lying on the bed, watched helplessly as Qin Zegang was dragged away, his face contorted in agony.
Qin Huai then strolled over leisurely, bending down to look at Shen Liyu, his smile still devilish and arrogant. He reached out and touched Shen Liyu’s pale face, his voice tinged with regret.
“What a pity, such a pitiful look. Yuan Zhen, that brute, wouldn’t be as gentle as my brother…”
Shen Liyu, already feeling faint from the ordeal, trembled when Qin Huai’s finger touched the bloody wound on his forehead. Unable to bear the pain, he whimpered.
Seeing Shen Liyu’s pitiful state, Qin Huai’s mood suddenly improved. This had been the most miserable period of Qin Huai’s life. First, he had been pressured by his boss Yuan Zhen to recruit a new student, Li Chen, and now he was being hunted by the police for some private deals. And then there was his brother, who, despite claiming to come see him, was actually trying to take Shen Liyu away secretly, using him as leverage against Li Chen.
Feeling much better, Qin Huai stood up straight and called over the people behind him.
“Get him changed and bandage his head. Then take him to Yuan Zhen’s car. Move fast! I don’t want Yuan Zhen to think I’m too attached to this rabbit!”
