GTAS Arc 1 Ch. 23
by cami“Is the wound festering? Have you finished the ointment I gave you last time?”
The doctor, Qin Zegang, looked at Shen Liyu, who refused to show him the wound, with a helpless tone.
Shen Liyu lowered his head and muttered softly, confirming that the wound wasn’t festering and the ointment hadn’t been used up.
Standing beside him, Song Qihan chimed in, “It’s a bruise. I’ve checked it. This kid is quite shy. Can you apply the ointment again? How long will it take to get rid of the bruise?”
Qin Zegang looked at Shen Liyu, who was uncooperative, sighed, and then said loudly, “Apply it for three consecutive days, and it will be fine. Why do you always make people worry about you?”
“Then, could you please lend me your private rest room, Senior Qin? I’ll apply the ointment for this kid there.”
After Qin Zegang agreed, Song Qihan reached out and took Shen Liyu’s small hand, leading him into the nearby rest room. With a bang, he closed the door behind them.
Inside the room, Shen Liyu widened his peach blossom eyes, watching as Song Qihan swiftly turned around and pressed him against the door. His arm reached out from under his dark suit, pressing Shen Liyu’s movements against the door.
Then, Song Qihan reached with his other hand, loosening his meticulously tied tie. As the tie loosened, Shen Liyu saw the bite mark he left on Song Qihan’s fair collarbone from last night.
“You bit me first, so it’s only fair that I bite back.”
Song Qihan’s low, magnetic voice sounded in Shen Liyu’s ear. The warmth on his face made Shen Liyu’s legs weak.
“Senior, you have really good endurance…”
Hearing Shen Liyu’s soft words, Song Qihan couldn’t help but laugh. What was this kid thinking? Really…
He had only brought out ‘evidence’ to show that he too felt ‘aggrieved’. But then Shen Liyu praised him so bluntly, making him want to say thank you.
Then Song Qihan released his restraint on Shen Liyu and adjusted his tie. Seeing Shen Liyu’s obvious disappointment, he asked with a hint of doubt in his voice, “Have you been here before to get ointment? Did you bump into something?”
Seeing that things didn’t go as he planned, Shen Liyu felt a bit disappointed. He nodded and murmured a response. Then he asked, “So, Senior, do you still want to apply ointment for me now?”
Meanwhile, outside, Qin Zegang sat in his chair, looking at his phone, sipping freshly brewed bitter tea. Suddenly, he heard another bang from the rest room. Startled, he shook the tea cup, and the hot tea touched his tongue, causing his face to contort in pain.
Qin Zegang sighed again, intending to ask his good junior, Song Qihan, why he seemed so agitated now despite usually being calm. But when he turned to look at Song Qihan, who emerged with a slightly flushed face and unstable breath, the words he was about to say changed.
“Junior Song, what’s wrong with you? Do you have acute bronchitis or something? Why is your face so red, and why are you breathing so heavily?”
Song Qihan paused at the words, his body stiffening. He pressed his fingertips against the frames of his glasses, shook his head to indicate he was fine, and took a few deep breaths to push the recent events out of his mind.
After Shen Liyu asked him to help apply ointment, Song Qihan naturally ‘righteously’ refused!
This was a school, and outside was his senior brother, Qin Zegang. There was no way he could do anything to Shen Liyu here!
Just as Song Qihan left, leaving the rest room, Shen Liyu, who was still inside, burst into laughter. He rarely exchanged a few meaningless words with the system in his mind.
“Haha, Little Six, did you see that? Song Qihan’s fleeing just now was so amusing! It really cracked me up!”
【…Host, it seems you’re enjoying yourself now! But as long as you’re happy, that’s good. And if you could complete the mission as soon as possible, that would be even better. 】
Hearing this, Shen Liyu stopped laughing, raising an eyebrow. Was he enjoying himself? After thinking for a moment, he realized he might be, at least he would continue to tease Song Qihan like this…
As for the task of tormenting scum… Just then, a menacing voice came from outside the rest room window. Shen Liyu froze, recognizing it as Zhang Yong’s voice.
He got off the bed, put on his shoes, and walked toward the window, lifting a corner of the curtain to look outside. He saw Zhang Yong and Li Chen, accompanied by others, not just causing trouble but also trying to dominate the school through violence.
Knowing he was in a dog-blood novel, Shen Liyu clicked his tongue, once again cursing the author in his mind.
At that moment, he noticed a familiar figure. The girl with a bow tied on her ponytail was Zheng Qingyuan, the girl who had a crush on Qi Ming, his former deskmate.
Qi Ming’s future girlfriend… It seemed he had to take action. After making up his mind, Shen Liyu communicated with the system in his mind.
“If I face malicious harm again, will I be able to incapacitate those who attack me within three seconds, just like I did to the guy in the restroom last time?”
“Yes, Host.”
After receiving confirmation from the system, Shen Liyu nodded. Then he opened the door and left the rest room. He saw Song Qihan, still with a slightly flushed face, and said he had to go to class.
Meanwhile, Song Qihan, not knowing how to face Shen Liyu, simply nodded awkwardly and continued his conversation with Qin Zegang.
Shen Liyu walked out of the infirmary but didn’t return to class. Instead, he turned and entered a narrow passage next to the school’s rear wall.
“Junior Song, it seems like your relationship with Shen is not ordinary…”
Qin Zegang looked at Song Qihan, who seemed to relax visibly, and said casually.
Song Qihan paused at Qin Zegang’s words, his eyes darkening behind his wire-framed glasses. Was his feelings for Shen Liyu so obvious?! He had been discovered by Senior Qin!
To hide his panic, Song Qihan reached for the tea cup and pretended to drink calmly. In his mind, he scrambled to think of the best response…
Seeing Song Qihan remain silent, Qin Zegang shrugged helplessly, slowly saying, “Honestly, Junior Song, it’s time for you to start dating someone. It feels like you’re taking care of Shen Liyu as if he were your son. You should experience love first and then start a family…”
“Ptfff! Cough, cough, cough!!!”
Qin Zegang’s words were interrupted as Song Qihan was choked by the hot tea, tears welling up in his eyes…
Song Qihan quickly waved his hand, stopping Qin Zegang from standing up, indicating he was fine. Qin Zegang sighed again, advising his good junior to sip the hot tea slowly…
“Li Chen, what do you guys want to do? I’ve already told the class monitor, and the homeroom teacher will be here soon!”
As the class monitor, Zheng Qingyuan protected a smaller girl behind her, her fingers trembling with fear. All she could do was pray silently, hoping Qi Ming would come and save them…
Ignoring Zheng Qingyuan’s words, Li Chen, with his back to everyone, stomped on an empty beverage can beside him with a bang. The sound startled Zheng Qingyuan and the other students, who were being threatened. Then, Li Chen kicked the flattened can away and began walking towards Zheng Qingyuan, limping from the injuries he sustained from Shen Liyu’s ‘attack’ last time.
Although Li Chen agreed verbally, he knew that even if he did act, Li Chen wouldn’t dare to retaliate against him. So, he approached Zheng Qingyuan, looking to please her, but with his dirty hand extended.
Zheng Qingyuan wanted to retreat, but she couldn’t. If she did, what would happen to the students behind her?
Then, a fair hand reached out from behind Zheng Qingyuan, grabbing Li Chen’s dirty hand. With a forceful twist, the hand snapped Li Chen’s middle finger. With a crack, the sound of the bone breaking echoed through the air.
As Li Chen knelt on the ground, wailing in pain, Zheng Qingyuan turned her head in surprise. She was about to call out Qi Ming’s name when she realized it wasn’t him who had come to their rescue but Shen Liyu, the slender figure with pale skin and beautiful peach blossom eyes, now glinting with coldness.
Shen Liyu spoke coldly, devoid of his usual softness and friendliness.
“Li Chen, it seems the kick I gave you last time wasn’t hard enough to make you remember, huh?”
