Two months later.

Shen Liyu sat up on the hospital bed, still surrounded by white curtains. He looked around for his shoes but couldn’t find them.

    Whoosh!

The curtain suddenly opened, revealing a nurse holding a thermometer. She was surprised to see Shen Liyu already sitting up and said, “You woke up so quickly. Perfect timing, take your temperature.”

As the nurse answered a call on her phone, she pulled the curtain closed again.

“Darling, I’ve already got permission from the head nurse! I’ll come see you in a bit. What are you planning to give me for Qixi Festival? Don’t make me guess again…”

Shen Liyu lay back down, placing the thermometer under his arm, and crossed his legs, his small feet swaying.

It had been over two months since he jumped from Yuan Zhen’s fifth-floor apartment.

Others considered Shen Liyu lucky because he landed in Yuan Zhen’s backyard swimming pool, which saved his life. However, he had heard about the absurd events that followed from the system. Hearing those, he felt his death was relatively tame compared to the others.

First, Zhang Yong was expelled from school for his violence and threats, and was sent to a correctional facility for a year.

Next, Qin Huai was sentenced to prison, but due to a large bail paid by his brother, he received probation.

Lastly, Li Chen’s father was arrested by the police the next day for allegedly molesting a female teacher, based on a report with substantial evidence. Li Chen disappeared from school thereafter.

Shen Liyu raised an eyebrow at this. Li Chen’s absence meant he could no longer dominate the school. Did his jump correct even the melodramatic plotlines? The system confirmed that the school had returned to normal.

As for Yuan Feng, he suffered memory loss after Shen Liyu hit him with an ashtray. He denied any attempt to harm Shen Liyu and was not legally punished due to his brother Yuan Zhen’s influence.

Shen Liyu suspected the system had something to do with Yuan Feng’s amnesia, as the ashtray alone wouldn’t cause it. Nevertheless, he didn’t ask further, as it was no longer his concern.

Shen Liyu had moved to the bustling capital city to attend university. Despite not taking the college entrance exam, he was admitted thanks to someone’s help.

That someone was Shen Liyu’s boyfriend, or rather, fiancé now, his senior, Song Qihan.

Song Qihan had also become a teaching assistant at the university. This meant Shen Liyu would continue receiving education from him. Shen Liyu found this amusing, as he had developed an addiction to Song Qihan’s rap during their time together.

In high school, Shen Liyu had only seen two classmates, Qi Ming and Zheng Qingyuan, who had also come to the capital. Li Xian had come to visit Qi Ming, but Song Qihan stopped her from entering.

Shen Liyu felt grateful, as Song Qihan understood his feelings, like not wanting to see Li Xian.

Life had been peaceful since leaving the hospital. Whenever Shen Liyu was admitted, Song Qihan would accompany him, fulfilling his every request. Whether it was cooking a meal or buying pastries, Song Qihan did it all. Shen Liyu even asked Song Qihan to tell bedtime stories, which helped him sleep.

Song Qihan spoiled Shen Liyu shamelessly!

On his discharge day, Song Qihan had already arranged a place to stay. Shen Liyu only needed to show up. He assumed Song Qihan had rented it, but Song Qihan revealed it was bought.

Shen Liyu wondered why Song Qihan suddenly bought a house. Song Qihan smiled mysteriously and explained it was for their wedding.

Shen Liyu was overjoyed at the mention of their future wedding. He couldn’t wait to live a comfortable and carefree life with Song Qihan. However, Song Qihan reminded him not to overexert himself until fully recovered.

As they entered the house, Shen Liyu was surprised to find it filled with roses. He asked if Song Qihan had bought them all.

Song Qihan calmly removed his suit jacket and picked Shen Liyu up in his arms, carrying him to the bedroom. He gently placed Shen Liyu on the bed covered in rose petals and kissed him tenderly. With a smirk, he whispered, “I’ve prepared everything in advance. Once the doctor says it’s okay, I’ll devour you, my delicious little bunny…”

Blushing furiously, Shen Liyu whispered back, “Song…Song Qihan…”

“Don’t call me by my name. Call me husband.”

    “Um, husband, kiss me again…”
