When Ji Yichen woke up, the sky outside was just beginning to brighten, and he had slept in his clothes.

He put on his shoes, got out of bed, and walked to the door, picking up several thick books leaning against the door on the floor. These books were placed here so that if anyone entered from outside, they would make a sound when they fell, allowing him to hear it while asleep.

Lin Huai nodded and said yes. Ji Linchen then opened the car door and got in.

Just before the car drove away, Ji Yichen saw Xiao Wu lying on the ground staring at him with a pair of dark eyes. If looks could kill, he would have been dead long ago under Xiao Wu’s gaze!

He chuckled softly, but unfortunately, even if Xiao Wu’s eyes popped out of their sockets, it wouldn’t hurt him in the slightest.

“What are you laughing at?” Suddenly, sitting beside him, Ji Linchen asked in a deep voice.

Ji Yichen came to his senses and immediately reached out to grab Ji Linchen’s military coat, pursing his lips and looking at Ji Linchen with hesitation. This puzzled Ji Linchen, and he asked again, “What’s wrong with you?”
