When Ji Yichen emerged from Ji Linchen’s room, someone unexpected was waiting for him at the door. Both Lin Huai and Ji Feng had reasons to speak with him, but it was Ji Yanzhi, who had the least reason, standing there, his eyes dark, glaring at him.

Ji Yanzhi’s complexion had changed from pale to rosy since he first arrived at the army. A glint of mischief sparkled in Ji Yichen’s beautiful eyes, realizing he had been too lenient.

As Ji Yanzhi approached, Ji Yichen feigned surprise and stepped back until his back was against the wall beside Ji Linchen’s room, while Ji Yanzhi extended a hand to press against the wall behind Ji Yichen, trapping him in his embrace.

Ji Yanzhi had expected Ji Yichen to be swayed by his seemingly dominant move, but instead, Ji Yichen wrinkled his nose and frowned. He caught a whiff of a strong body odor emanating from Ji Yanzhi, makes him want to gag!

If Ji Yanzhi knew what Ji Yichen was thinking, he would probably wish for death! Being a second young master of the Ji family, he was very particular about appearances. However, in the military, everyone shared the same communal baths, and Ji Yanzhi couldn’t bear to bathe with the soldiers, so he had gone without washing for days…

The disgusting smell was too much for Ji Yichen to bear. Initially, he had planned to wait until Ji Yanzhi finished his act before delivering a fatal blow, but now it seemed he couldn’t wait any longer…

Ji Yichen suddenly lifted his knee towards Ji Yanzhi! But this time, Ji Yanzhi was prepared, having been on guard all along. He swiftly clamped his legs around Ji Yichen’s raised leg, preventing him from withdrawing. With a smirk, Ji Yanzhi exhaled a breath reeking of unwashed morning breath, spraying Ji Yichen’s face. Ji Yichen’s face turned black, visibly disgusted.

Ji Yanzhi chuckled, and was about to say, “Young Master, let’s see what else you’ve got!” But before he could finish his sentence, Ji Yichen slapped him right across the face!

With a resounding slap echoing in the spacious corridor, Ji Linchen’s voice came from the room.

“Who’s out there?”

Ji Yanzhi dared not speak. During this time, he had learned firsthand that his brother was uncompromisingly strict in the military. His behavior now was akin to plucking a whisker from a tiger’s mouth, and Ji Yichen was that whisker!

While Ji Yanzhi stood there dumbfounded, Ji Yichen swiftly delivered another slap! Another crisp “smack” reverberated through the corridor, leaving Ji Yanzhi’s face swollen, adorned with clear fingerprints on each cheek. Then, Ji Yichen responded loudly to Ji Linchen’s inquiry.

“It’s nothing! Just an annoying fly buzzing around. It’s really annoying. I’m dealing with it!”

Ji Yanzhi was furious! To be compared to a fly by the esteemed second young master of the Ji family! As he raised his hand to retaliate, Ji Yichen smirked, lowered his voice, and coldly threatened, “Ji Yanzhi, are you deliberately trying to cause trouble under Ji Linchen’s nose? Fine! If you strike me, I’ll go straight to Ji Linchen! Let’s see if you can stay in this military camp!”

Ji Yanzhi’s slap never hit Ji Yichen’s cute little face. He loosened his grip on Ji Yichen. Before he could even utter a warning, Ji Yichen ran away to the corridor with a look of disgust on his face! This made the deflated Ji Yanzhi stand there with his neck hunched, so angry that he was trembling all over and couldn’t say a word…

“All right, Ji Yichen, you dare to play games with me! Fine, I’ll wait for the day you beg for mercy. Let’s see if I spare you, you nuisance!”

Ji Yichen was unaware of Ji Yanzhi’s thoughts. He was overwhelmed by nausea, retreating to a secluded corner to vomit, expelling the contents of his stomach. However, the pungent odor lingered in his nostrils, making him retch continuously…

After retching for what felt like an eternity, Ji Yichen, shaking with discomfort, finally stopped. Suddenly, a cold male voice sounded from behind him.

“What’s wrong? The army food not to your liking? Tut tut…”

The sarcasm in his tone was evident. Ji Yichen halted his hand on his stomach and turned to see Ji Feng standing nearby. His usually charming eyes were now cold, and his voice lacked its usual gentleness.

“Ji Feng, you seem to have a broad scope of responsibility!”

Upon hearing this, Ji Feng’s expression became even uglier. After hesitating for a moment, he extended his hand, holding a box of medicine. “Originally, I prepared this for Ji Linchen in case his stomach felt uncomfortable. Since you’re feeling unwell, take it for now.”

Not receiving the anticipated retaliation, Ji Yichen looked puzzled as he reached for the medicine. However, he didn’t fully trust Ji Feng’s seemingly kind gesture. After all, the two of them had been at odds for days on end.

“The master will be here soon. I hope we can peacefully coexist until his departure without attracting unnecessary attention.”

Upon hearing Ji Feng’s words, Ji Yichen understood. It seemed that Ji Feng was trying to reconcile with him over this matter. He nodded and lowered his voice. “I understand.”

Just then, voices could be heard in the distance. Ji Feng turned and left, leaving Ji Yichen alone. Ji Yichen looked at the medicine in his hand and decided to take a couple of pills since his stomach still felt uncomfortable…

“Ji Yichen? What are you doing here?”

As Ji Yichen took a step forward, he heard a familiar voice. He turned to see Lin Huai approaching and smiled. “Dr. Lin, my stomach isn’t feeling well. I went to get some medicine.”

Ji Yichen nodded towards Lin Huai, shaking the box of medicine in his hand as he walked towards him.

Upon hearing that Ji Yichen wasn’t feeling well, Lin Huai instructed the soldier accompanying them to leave first. He then approached Ji Yichen, noticing the mess on the ground behind him, and asked in surprise, “Did you just vomit?”

Ji Yichen scratched his head awkwardly. “Uh, yeah… I couldn’t hold it in.”

Lin Huai reached out and grabbed Ji Yichen’s wrist, his tone serious. “It’s not something that can be easily resolved with just some medicine. Come with me to the infirmary. I’ll prescribe some new medication for you.”

The lie had been told, and Ji Yichen had no choice but to follow Lin Huai to the infirmary. Seeing the worry in Lin Huai’s bright eyes, Ji Yichen felt a bit embarrassed. “Sorry, Dr. Lin, for making you worry.”

Lin Huai paused his actions of preparing medication, not turning around but speaking with a grave tone. “You never have to apologize to me…”

Ji Yichen didn’t catch what he said clearly and asked, “Dr. Lin, what are you talking about?”

Lin Huai turned around, his expression returning to normal. He shook his head and said it was nothing, then placed the prepared medicine packet into Ji Yichen’s hand and gave him a few instructions. Ji Yichen thanked Lin Huai obediently before leaving the infirmary. However, as soon as he stepped out, he ran into Xiao Wu.

Xiao Wu watched as Ji Yichen left the infirmary without even sparing him a glance. He pursed his lips and stepped aside to let Ji Yichen pass. If someone gave way to him, especially someone with ill intentions, there was no need to be polite. Ji Yichen left with the medicine packet in hand.

Xiao Wu stared viciously at the spot where Ji Yichen disappeared for a long time before turning and entering the infirmary. He went straight to Lin Huai and spoke with a smug tone, “I didn’t expect Dr. Lin to come up with an excuse to refuse before, but today, he just took the medicine from me and found an excuse to give it to Ji Yichen. Dr. Lin, you’re really inconsistent…”

Hearing the annoying and clingy voice, Lin Huai didn’t even lift his head, choosing to ignore Xiao Wu. However, the tips of his fingers holding the pen were white from how hard he was squeezing it, betraying his true feelings.

“The medicine I gave to Ji Yichen was just ordinary stomach medicine. You’re reading too much into it.”

Hearing Lin Huai’s unusually cold tone, Xiao Wu widened his eyes in disbelief. Ever since he saw Lin Huai secretly watching Ji Yichen for the first time, he knew that Lin Huai had feelings for Ji Yichen. At first, he couldn’t understand why anyone would like Ji Yichen, but since Ji Linchen returned injured and fell into a coma, Xiao Wu felt that Ji Yangzhi’s interest in Ji Yichen had reignited.

Indeed, in order to regain Ji Yangzhi’s favor, Xiao Wu had put medicine in Ji Yangzhi’s food. Ji Yangzhi was aware of it, but since it made him feel better, he let Xiao Wu climb back into his bed.

However, a few days ago, Ji Yangzhi said something to Xiao Wu that made him furious!

“Bring out your medicine. I need it.”

Despite Xiao Wu’s persistent questioning, Ji Yangzhi eventually became impatient and slapped him, refusing to say what he needed it for. But Xiao Wu knew that Ji Yangzhi was planning to drug Ji Yichen! What infuriated Xiao Wu the most was that even though Ji Yichen treated Ji Yangzhi so poorly, Ji Yangzhi still couldn’t forget about Ji Yichen and treated Xiao Wu as if he were nothing but a plaything!

Since Ji Yangzhi wanted to get Ji Yichen’s attention, Xiao Wu would make sure that Ji Yangzhi saw Ji Yichen’s despicable side!
